Hi, it looks as of there is a bug in page-imp in MKIV. The problem does not show up in MKII. When using vertical and or horizontal pageshift lists while arranging an error occurs: ! Incomplete \iffalse; all text was ignored after line 27. system > tex > error on line 0 in file : Incomplete \iffalse; all text was ignored after line 27 ... <empty file> <inserted text> \fi ... ! Is it possible to generate only a table of contents

Is it possible to generate only a TOC? (\completecontent) When creating a document I like to have the 'stakeholders' to have an indication of what is going on. For this a TOC is enough. I could create the document and cut out the TOC, but it would be simpler if that could be auto generated. -- Cecil Westerhof

Difference between MKII, XeTeX and MKIV

When installing minimals you have MKII, XeTeX and MKIV. I understand that you should normally use MKIV, but when are the other two used? -- Cecil Westerhof

620 pages limit?

Hi, in December we had 4000 pages limit, now I only reach 700 pages limit: pages > flushing realpage 615, userpage 619 pages > flushing realpage 616, userpage 620 PANIC: unprotected error in call to Lua API (stack overflow (out of stack space)) mtx-context | fatal error: return code: 1 It's a book wih 7 chapters, each of it run fine. Only typesetting the entire project (not even with TOC) gives this error. Is there help? Steffen (ConTeXt ver: 2011.02.25 22:03 MKIV)

Accents messed up

Hi, This is TeXExec | version 6.2.1 - 1997-2009 - PRAGMA ADE/POD I am writing a presentation like this in French: \language[fr] \mainlanguage[fr] %\enableregime[utf-8] \enableregime[latin1] \usemodule[pre-fuzzy] \usemodule[amsl] \useMPlibrary[txt] my terminal encoding is set to UTF-8. Running texec on it yields a bunch of weird characters where the accents should be. What am I doing wrong? thanks, Pau

Hoefler font in Mark IV

Dear all, I have been using Hoefler font successfully in a newsletter. I am now processing it in MarkIV but I don't get bold or bold italic. Italic is not quite the same either. I am using simplefonts. I have the .dfont and the .ttf on my system. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Charlie

\writetolist spurious space in the first line hereafter

Hi all, I detected that after issuing \writetolist, that there is a unwanted space in the first line after this command. This occurs when indenting is on and off. Please refer to the attached minimal example. I am using ConTeXt 2011.02.25 22:03, LuaTEX beta-0.65.0-2010121316 Kind regards Willi

symbols fail in mkiv

Hi all, The following file has the expected output with texexec but with mkiv the symbols are replaced by question marks in the output; all my other tests with symbols actually fail with mkiv. ...................... \starttext Hello world! \usesymbols[mvs] \symbol[martinvogel 2][PointingHand] \symbol[martinvogel 2][CheckedBox] \stoptext ...................... Hello, I just received the "Fonts in ConTeXt"; thanks that such publication exists. One suggestion: - Wouldn't be good to offer both grey scale and coloured version of the book? The coloured version would be more expensive, indeed. But one would have a choice; and Hans and Taco's documents are very nice in choice of colours, too (I mean especially the documents which are freely available for download), and one may find the coloured version more "readable" or synoptic; and thus preferred. What are the best fonts to use

At the moment I use for my ebook: \usetypescript[palatino][texnansi] \setupbodyfont[palatino,rm,12pt] Does not look to bad, but layout is not my forte. So if people have tips about the fonts to use, I like to hear them. Do you use other fonts when using a printed book? -- Cecil Westerhof
