Dear ConTeXt folks, I am trying to use the module bib, but I only get [[error 2]] displayed. I am following the Wiki page Bibliography [1], which suggests the following example (adapted by me). \usemodule[bib] \usemodule[bibltx] \setupbibtex[database=sample] \setuppublications[numbering=yes] % Show reference numbers in the generated list. \starttext As \cite[hh2010b] already indicated, bibtex is a \LaTeX-centric program. \completepublications \stoptext I copied the file `sample.bib` @STRING{hh = {Hans Hagen}} @ELECTRONIC{hh2010, author = hh, year = {2010}, title = {Metafun. \CONTEXT\ mkiv}, url = {http://www.pragma-ade.nl/general/manuals/metafun-s.pdf}, } @ARTICLE{hh2010a, author = hh, title = {The Font Name Mess}, journal = {MAPS}, year = {2010}, volume = {40}, pages = {2-8}, keywords = {context}, } @ARTICLE{hh2010b, author = hh, title = {Grouping in Hybrid Environments}, journal = {MAPS}, year = {2010}, volume = {40}, pages = {67-71}, keywords = {context}, } @BOOK{Eijkhout1991, title = {\TeX\ by Topic. Unfortunately I only get »[[error 2]]« displayed. Please find all files attached. Regarding `bibltx` the bib manual does also contain it [2][3]. Searching the Wiki for it, it says that it was dropped in version 2006.04.06 [4]. Textbackgrounds

Hi all, I've played with text backgrounds. Please have a look at the following example. \definetextbackground [test] [location=paragraph, % frame=off, % -> no round corners anymore corner=round, % -> corner=1|2|3… would be nice leftoffset=.5\bodyfontsize, rightoffset=.5\bodyfontsize, topoffset=.5\bodyfontsize, bottomoffset=.5\bodyfontsize] \setuphead [subject] [after=, command=\MyHead] \def\MyHead#1#2% {\framed [background=color, backgroundcolor=gray, frame=off, offset=.5\bodyfontsize, corner=3]{#1#2}} \starttext \subject{Test} \starttest \input tufte \stoptest \stoptext There is a nasty little space between the two backgrounds. How can I avoid it? Further the left borders of the frame are not aligned. I appreciate your help. Andreas

margin notes at page breaks

Hi list! In my document I have some margin notes that appear right before a page break and so end up in the bottom margin, see the following example. \starttext \dorecurse{4}{\input knuth} \blank[2*line] \inmargin{This note ends up in the bottom margin} %\margintext{This note ends up in the bottom margin} \input tufte \stoptext Is it possible to automatically move the margin note in those cases to the next page? I had a look at the manual where the issue is addressed. As I understood it "\margintext{...}" should be able to handle this, but it did not change anything in my example. In the garden I found "\setupinmargin[stack=yes]" but this didn't help either. This seems not to hard, but I can't find a way to fix it... Thanks in advance for any hints! Stefan

(long) footnotes in column sets messed up

Hi folks, please consider the following example. \starttext \startcolumnset[n=2] \dorecurse{4}{\input knuth\footnote{Some footnote which is not wrapped correctly and has a bad number}} \stoptext The footnotes are very messed-up (overlapping, numbers all in left column). Is there a better way to place such footnotes in column sets? Am I doing something wrong? I'm using 20111028 22:32 MKIV. Thank you very much in advance! Stefan

No numbers with `\ref` and floats like `\placetable`

Dear ConTeXt folks, I am sorry for another reference related question. Using ConTeXt ver: 2011.10.14 22:47 MKIV fmt: 2011.10.15 int: english/english the following example does not work. Either no number is shown or »??«. \starttext Table \ref[][tab:reference] is a nice table. xtreme tables repeating header

Hi, I can't get the repeating header to work with the new extreme tables (the "new column A" should be on the second page). What is the error here? Hi, I uploaded a new beta. The biggest new thing is that there is yet another table mechanism: extreme tables. There is a manual too: http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/xtables-mkiv.pdf It says in the introduction: >> This is a short introduction to yet another table mechanism built in \CONTEXT. It is a variant of the so called natural tables but it has a different configuration. Also, the implementation is completely different. The reason for writing it is that in one of our projects we had to write styles for documents that had tables spanning 30 or more pages and apart from memory constraints this is quite a challenge for the other mechanisms, if only because splitting them into successive floats is not possible due to limitations of \TEX. The extreme table mechanism can handle pretty large tables and split them too. As each cell is basically a \type {\framed} and as we need to do two passes over the table, this mechanism is not the fastest but it is some two times faster than the natural tables mechanism, and in most cases can be used instead. << There will probably a few additions but it's already pretty complete. syntax-highlighting

Hello, I've installed Scite on a Linux-Computer. I can build the pdf with F5; when I start to write a context-command the completion is suggested, e.g. \pa -> \page There is no syntax-highlighting. How to switch it on? Regards Jannis

For Windows users: ConTeXt + SciTe installation instructions updated

Hello! At the recent ConTeXt meeting Hans helped me update my ConTeXt installation and explained about a new way of getting ConTeXt to work with SciTe, it now uses external lexers and even spell-checking is now possible for some languages. The SciTe tips and tricks page will have to wait, but I made a new wiki page for the installation instructions. This one isn't linked anywhere yet and the page title should probably be changed before that, but I leave that to wiki admins. My old "Simple Windows installation page" should probably be unlinked or even deleted after this new and better one has found its proper spot. For now, the new Windows+SciTe page is at <http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Windows:_ConTeXt_Suite_with_editor_%28SciTe%29> I checked the instructions by installing the combo on a "blank" new Win64-laptop (of the cheap and sleazy type, this keyboard drives me nuts!) and it works. It is not exactly "out-of-the-box", but nothing a seasoned Windows user or a half-good admin couldn't manage. I assume small .bat scripts could be written to automatize it even further, but I'm no programmer, it is faster for me to do a bit of manual work instead. Italic correction spoils XHTML-output

Hi all, I spotted an curious side effect while using italic correction together with the export feature.
