Kerning and Minion Pro

t-lettrine - broken?

A while back, there was a thread that was dealing with an Findent problem in the t-lettrine package (http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg- context/2005/009097.html). The problem was that the Findent was indenting the dropped-capital then indenting the first line of text. It should only indent from the dropped- capital to the first line of text. Taco provided a fix which works. Version: 2005.02.27 However, the current t-lettrine package in the minmals - beta exhibits the old problem again: Current beta version: 2006.01.27 Can we get the minimals-beta (and subsequent versions) fixed? [***SPAM***] How to add pdf bookmark without adding it to the content?

I have tried many ways \bookmark[section]{Bookmark text} seems to add bookmark twice and it is also appears in the table of contents which is strange. I have prepared a small example that demonstrates the problem \setupinteraction [state=start] \setupinteractionscreen [option=bookmark] \placebookmarks [part,chapter,section,subsection] [part, chapter] \title{Contents} \bookmark[chapter]{Contents} \completecontent \starttext \dorecurse{7}{\input tufte \input knuth} \stoptext I using latest stable ConTeXt minimals on FreeBSD and compile with mkii.

Fourier in ConTeXt (was Fonts readily available in Context)

Hi, I am starting a new thread about this: Is there really support for fourier in current ConTeXt? I've not been able to get it working since long time ago. I get utopia text working, but not fourier math. See the previous threads: http://archive.contextgarden.net/message/20070830.154143.005528b8.en.html and http://archive.contextgarden.net/message/20080928.193441.874bb515.en.html 1) Can anyone explain to me why these fonts are not working at the moment? 2) Is there any plan on fixing this issue? 3) If there is anything I (as a simple user) can do, please tell me. TreatFirstLine: loss of spaces

The code below changes the first line. However, there are no spaces between words and therefore, the justification is also off. You can even leave the first parameter empty and you get the same results. Am I missing something? \starttext \TreatFirstLine {\sc} {} {} {} The combined color and font effect is also possible, although one must be careful in using macros that accumulate grouping, but the commands used here are pretty save in that respect. \stoptext Thanks, Bart

horizontal space in \inframed and \hskip

I am having some trouble with horizontal spacing. I'm trying to set one width for \inframed and \hskip but the two are coming out different. Here is an example. It is a syllabus for a college course. I would like the entries for topics (e.g. “Glaucon’s challenge”), descriptions (e.g. “Glaucon poses …”), and readings (e.g. “{\it Republic} …”) to start at the same horizontal point on the page so that their left edges will be aligned. I use the longest date on which class will be held to define a horizontal length (longestdate). I use that length to set the width of a frame for text that precedes ClassTopic and an hskip that precedes both ClassDesc and Reading. I expected the horizontal space to be equal. But ClassTopic is a couple points to the right of the other two. Framing the text area of a part page w/ tikz/pgf.

The code below frames the text area of a part page. The part page removes the footer and headers, then I use definelayout to change the text height & width. It works find until I load the pgf and/or tikz modules. When either of those modules are loaded, the frame is forced to the next page. The only way I can make the frame stay on the page is to reduce the height of the frame; however, then it doesn't fit the text area that I've defined. Why when I load the modules pgf and/or tikz does the frame for the part page get forced to the next page? How do I fix it? Is there a better way to do this? (don't say remove the pgf and tikz modules :-) ).
