modifying URL wrapping rules

Hello, I would like to modify the rules for wrapping URLs (aka "hyphenating" URLs, but generally without inserting hyphens) to conform more closely to the Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ed. I've read on this list that the code for doing this is defined in the \hypthenatedurl There are several files with the same name, in contextminimal\texmf-context\tex\context\base\: lang-url.mkii lang-url.mkiv lang-url.lua lang-url.tex >From what I can tell, the .tex file loads one of the other three: \loadmarkfile{lang-url} I'm not sure which one it loads -- the lua, mkii, or mkiv. All three seem to have the rules for url hyphenation encoded in them. Is it a matter of which engine I'm using, e.g. luatex? Our project has a requirement of using Xetex, so I have to stick with that. Does that mean lang-url doesn't work at all? We also have users using ConTeXt Minimal as well as ConTeXt from the TeXLive 2008 distribution. I want to do things in a way that will work in both. I would be happy to put in some extra effort to make the result generally available to others who want to follow the Chicago style for wrapping long URLs. Thanks for any hints... Lars

letter module: no linebreak in signature

Using Wolfgang Schuster's wonderful letter module, I enter my signature with my name and title like so: \setupletter[signature={Michael Green \\ Assistant Professor of Philosophy}] This used to produce a line break between "Green" and "Assistant" so the output would look like this: Michael Green Assistant Professor of Philosophy But it no longer does. Now it comes out like this: Michael Green Assistant Professor of Philosophy Is there a preferred way to accomplish the effect I want? Thanks! \placecontent doesn't place content after \chapter{}

The code below displays the "Contents" chapter header; however, the table of contents is not shown. If I remove the \chapter{Contents}, then the table of contents is displayed. Just to let anyone know who's interested, I more or less solved this problem with the (more or less undocumented) command \definealternativestyle [StretchedSmallCaps] [\StretchedSmallCaps] [\StretchedSmallCaps]. It allows me to set \setupsynonyms [abbreviation] [textstyle=StretchedSmallCaps, criterium=all], which essentially works. Is this generally applicable enough to put on the wiki somewhere? I now have another abbreviations question. What is the easiest way to allow digits (and, ideally, the forward slash) in abbreviation names (i.e. be able to type \PS/2 and not get the error "\PS is undefined")? This occurs quite commonly, particularly with numbers. I can define the abbreviation fine, and I can use the \infull version of it fine, but I can't use the command version at all. Another example: \ATX12V. I've been working around it by defining both synonyms and a logo like \PSTwo which typesets like I want \PS/2 to typeset, but what is a more elegent way of doing this that doesn't involve definining two different commands? I don't know how to change catcodes, despite numerous failed attempts to do just that with commands like \unprotect \catcode`2=\@@letter \protect. XeTeX and lmtypewriter10-regular

I'm running TeXLive 2008. When I compile for XeTeX (texexec --xtx) I get the following output that appears to be generating the lmtypewriter10-regular font. The bad part is that this is very slow. The part that's even worse, it does this probably 20...30...40 times? A compilation takes 145 seconds, and about 130+ seconds of time seem to be dealing with lmtypewriter10-regular. This doesn't happen on small test files, so I know I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas?
