Please excuse the Mac centric formulation of my question. If Folders B and C are in Folder A, is there a way to insert a link in a PDF file in Folder B that will go to a PDF file Folder C and open it? Thanks for any help or suggestions. Alan

Struggling with XeTeX

Hello Hans, I've updated original TeXLive2007 distribution to the latest cont-tmf beta, by copying \web2c into TeXLive2007\texmf folder and every other stuff into TeXLive2007\texmf-dist folder. Then I rebuilded the format files for both context and xetex (texexec --make en, then texexec --xtx --make en). Now xetex doesn't see the font that it previously did. Hello, A more advanced question. With default settings, ConTeXt is prone to start new page for the itemization that doesn't fit. That is, ... %previous text Compared to the manual drafting, computer-aided drafting has the following advantages: \startitemize[packed] \item Errors and changes can be erased very simply, and without leaving any trace on the drawing. \item Small details can be enlarged to the limit of computer's accuracy, and can thus be comfortably worked on. \item Items that appear many times on the drawing (e.g., electronic com-ponents) need only be drawn once, and then can be rapidly copied as many times as required. \item Drawing can be drawn at exact scale; when the drawing is ready to go onto paper, the computer scales it to fit the page. \item Related items on the drawing can be grouped on layers, which can be activated or deactivated at will for plotting or display. \item Corporate standards are easily imposed by using drawing templates. \stopitemize ... Hello, Taco and Hans, thank you both very much. You are not less but genius. :) The patch from Taco runs smoothly. Now all system fonts I'm using are found without complaints. (BTW, I've never considered TeX seriously without XeTeX. System font support is Must Have for a Windows-minded user like me). The beta ceased creating those annoying .rli files, and now says 'dimensions of myfig.png loaded from figurefile itself'. Great! I even don't need ImageMagic anymore. The compilation process became veeery slow (first time), but then, when an image happened to be updated, the corresponding .rli file was not, and I had to manually delete it. It is ridiculous. Newbie question about \XeTeXpicfile

Hello, Sorry for a newbie question. I wonder how to insert figures so that they are equally spaced from both the previous and next paragraphs. Now the figure is glued to the previous paragraph. Why \setupinterlinespace needs [line]?

Hello, I wonder why one must provide the line argument for \setupinterlinespace? \setupinterlinespace[line=4ex] IMHO, it is a tautology. The texshow says that \setupinterlinespace[4ex] (or \setupinterlinespace[big] ) is enough, but I cannot make it work. Regards, Vyatcheslav Yatskovsky

Compiler plugin for vim

Hi, I have uploaded a context compiler plugin for vim at <http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=1925>. With this, you can do :make filename (which can often be shortened to :mak %) and, if there are errors in the file :cl will show the list of errors. You can jump to the next or previous error with :cn and :cp. If there is no error, :cl will display the number of pages of pdf output and the time taken by texexec. See :he quickfix for more details on using compiler plugins in vim. Aditya

texlive-context problem on Ubuntu

I'm having problems running ConTeXt on my Kubuntu 7.04 (Feisty). I have installed the texlive and texlive-context packages from the ubuntu repository with apt-get. $ sudo apt-get install texlive texlive-context Everything fine up to this point. Then I tested the principal programs: $ tex --verbose $ latex --verbose $ texexec --verbose I've made page-tests with TeX and LaTeX without problems, but with ConTeXt the "thing" is different. texexec is installed on the system, but when I try to build a test-page (a very simple one) texexec fails. The code of my test file is the same I have found on the ConTeXt Wiki: hello.tex: \starttext Hello World \stoptext That's all. The resulting screen is too long to post it here, but the last lines show this: . . . ! As you can see, texexec have problems finding the \starttext definition, I supose that this is related with the system paths, I've expended some time (several hours indeed) trying to figure out what the problem is and trying to fix it. I modify the texexec.ini with my system's texlive paths, and I've followed the instructions I've found on the ConTeXt Wiki but all was in vain. I get suscribed to this mailing list with the hope that somebody could tell me what's wrong and how can I fix this problem. thank you very much
