I still haven't the faintest idea what to do now. can you please help me (not a linux and/or tex -guru) out? thanks, jan

split footnote bug

Hi, it seems this thread got lost. For it describes a quite ugly phenomenon I dare to post it again again. Please, have a look at this 3-page example: \newdimen\XVertikal \XVertikal=12pt \setupbodyfont[postscript,10pt] \setupinterlinespace[line=\XVertikal] \setuplayout [width=113mm,height=48\XVertikal, backspace=20mm,topspace=15mm, header=\XVertikal,headerdistance=0.5\XVertikal, footer=3.5\XVertikal,footerdistance=0pt, location=middle,marking=on,grid=yes] \showframe \showgrid \showgridboxes \showstruts \starttext \dorecurse{10}{\input ward\footnote{\input tufte \relax}} \stoptext On page 2 the bottom most line slips down lower than on the other pages. I observed this behavior in a 450 pages book and the amount the bottom line goes down when footnotes a split is always the same. Is this because of unhappy values in setuplayout or is it a bug? Grid and footnotes

Dear chaps, consider the following: --- \setuplayout [lines=41, grid=no] \starttext %\showframe[text] \showgrid \dorecurse{2}{\input tufte\footnote{This is some text} \par} \section{Test} \dorecurse{2}{\input tufte\footnote{This is some text} \par} \stoptext --- As long as the grid is turned off, the footnote block perfectly aligns with the bodytext frame. However, turn the grid on and the footnote block suddenly jumps about a line downwards. What's going on here? Best wishes, Oliver

Strange lucida bright math issue

Hi all, After upgrading to TeXLive 2007, I'm experiencing a strange issue with Lucida Bright. It seems that none of the math font is working. The system keeps reporting "TFM file can't be found" even though it's there. The normal text (nonmath) -- roman/sans serif, etc., is working. What can I do now? Thanks in advance! installationproblem with context-distribution: xetex not working

Fonts, typescripts and math ??

Hi, The following used to work \usetypescript[modern][default] \usetypescript[times][ec] \definetypeface[MyFace][rm][serif][times][default][encoding=ec] \definetypeface[MyFace][mm][math][modern][default][encoding=ec] \setupbodyfont[MyFace,10pt] \starttext $\dot{x}, \ddot{y}$. $\bar{z}, \Delta z$. \showmathcharacters \stoptext but now some math characters i.e \Delta are showing up us ` in the text. Also the \bar{z} renders as a bar through the z instead of above. I thought I understood the font selection mechanism, but now I am confused. I am using the latest Context (ConTeXt ver: 2007.02.20 12:00 MKII fmt: 2007.2.23 int: english/english) and also installed the latest Latin-Modern stuff as stated in the release notes. Hi Hans, Can the following be added to font-ini? \definealternativestyle [\v!boldsans,\v!sansbold] [\bf\ss] [] Writing \setuphead [section,subject] [textstyle=\bf\ss, numberstyle=\bf\ss] does not feel ConTeXtish :) Aditya
