How to set page background?

Hi there, I know there is a command \setupbackgrounds[page][background=???], and I can use \defineoverlay[page][\useMPgraphic{page}], then use MetaPost to draw the page background. But I also use something like \setuppapersize[A7][A3] to compose the output, and it seems that the \setupbackgrounds command only affect on A7 sub-paper. I also noticed a command \setuplayout[marking=color]that really acts on the A3 paper rather than the subpaper. So I think there should be such a macro that handles the whole page's background. Can anyone tell me about it? gnuplot & ConTeXt

Hello, I've put the gnuplot binary for windows on http://modules.contextgarden.net/gnuplot-win, just in case that anyone is interested (Firefox has problems displaying that page, but I didn't figure out whether the problem lies in the garden, firefox or on my computer). Some functionality and documentation is still missing, but the interface should be stable now. If anyone would like to suggest what the default settings for some options should be, feel free to comment. I'm not sure if the current settings are all sensinble and there might still be time to change some. Gnuplot 4.2 will probably be released very soon. The context terminal might have chances to be included in the "patchset 1", but the developers are reluctant to include it without any feedback from other users. Even a few comments like "it works for me" on http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1654807&group_id=2… or on the mailing list would probably help. There are known limitations (like "memory limit exceeded"), unimplemented features, but also bugs. So please report/email any bugs to me as soon as you find them. Mojca

strange margin-behavior

Hi, Under latex I was using marginnotes quite intensivly (komascript). So I want this under context/xetex, too. For that I defined: \setuplayout[alternative=doublesided, margin=4cm, ....] and later in the text I am using: text text text \inmargin{abc} text text But instead of having the margin always at the outer side - I have the 4cm-margin always at the right site . The same strange behavior with the margintext. Instead of having the margin text always on the outer side - I have the margintext always on the left side. I am looking for a solution to have the 4cm-margin and the margintext always at the outer side. Ciao, H.

Hi all, I fear to re-post this request, but I've read (well, tried to read) page-flt.tex and I still am not certain what to do (or what to override) to do this. The <command> key of \setupcaptions is not useful, as it seems to pass the entire caption (including the header part) as a single argument: How can I put the header part only of a float caption (i.e., the "Figure 6" bit) in the left margin (so as to match \setupheads [alternative=inmargin]), but leaving the caption text part in the normal place? boldmath greek doesn't work in mathalign

Helo, I want to have boldmath in mathalign environment. I use the small example below. I find that boldmath greek symbols don't appear correctly, more precisely, in the first column. What I have made wrong here? Any comments and suggestions are appreciated. TIA. \frak (Fractur) in math mode

Hi Hans and Taco, Something seems to be broken with \frak. \frak does not work in math mode and works in text mode! For example $\frak ABC$ {\frak ABC} A workaround is to use \fraktur, which works fine in math mode, but it will be nice to remove this bug. Aditya

ctags and ConTeXt

Hi, I am wondering how others manage a large list of reference labels in ConTeXt. I use Vim as an editor and it supports ctags. ctags is a utility that is basically for supporting tags in programs (initially only for C, and hence the name), but can be used relatively easily with LaTeX. Basically, ctags creates a tag file with the format <tag-name> <tag-file> <tag-regex> (for details see http://ctags.sourceforge.net/FORMAT) Suppose I have a bunch of references all starting from eq:. Then inside Vim, I can type eq: and press ^X^T for Vim to search for the tags file with everything starting with eq: and I get to see all of them in a pop up menu. I can choose which ever label I want and continue. Further I can press ^] on a tag, and Vim jumps to the location of the tag, something like a hyperlink within the editor. I find both these features very useful while working for files with more than 50 tags. Creating a tag file for LaTeX is easy, since in LaTeX all labels are created using \label{....}. So, you can instruct ctags (the program) to search the file for \label{...} and store the first argument to the tags file. However, taking this approach with ConTeXt is almost impossible. Since the label is tied to the environment that creates it, it is impossible to parse. There is no way a reg-ex can determine if mylabel in \startproblem[mylabel] is an optional argument or a label. So, the only way to really get the label is through TeX itself. The tui file has some information, but it can be very hard to parse. A typical tui file has enteries like c \mainreference{}{cite-nsf-193}{2--0-2-4-2-0-0-0--9}{11}{MarschakRadner:1972} c \mainreference{}{fnt:f:2}{2--0-2-4-1-0-0-0--8}{10}{} c \mainreference{}{sec:prelim}{2--0-2-4-1-0-0-0--8}{10}{{C.4.1}{Preliminaries}} where the first two are auto-generated, while I only want the user entered tags to be stored. Suppose, one is willing to have the extra overhead of parsing every mainreference in the tag file. I can get the first two pieces of information for the tag file, the name of the tag and the file that it is in. But how do I get a regex (or linenumber) of where the tag is located in the file, so that ^] takes me to that tag. I can not figure out a regex which will take care of every case. Is there some other way to proceed? What are those other numbers in \mainreferece, do they contain any information about the line in the source file that generated the tag. And more generally, what do others do to keep track of labels in large projects. Aditya

how to put header like "Example 1.1" in frame?

Deaer all, To give a numbering to the examples in a chapter, I tired the following: \defineenumeration[example] [location=serried, headstyle=bold, text=Example, way=bychapter, width=broad, number=yes, after=] To use \inframed, I am able to include "Example" inside the frame but not the numbers. XeTeX problem again

Dear folks, I'm afraid I'm facing the XeTeX problem again after I updated ConTeXt to version 2007.02.21 :-( On a freshly installed MacTeX-2007 (which is TeXLive 2007 up to minor modifications) everything is fine. The ConTeXt version is 2007.01.12. Then I ran ctxtools which installed an updated ConTeXt in texmf-local (besides the folder 2007). Now the pdfTeX engine still works fine. However, XeTeX complained about the wrong format files. So I remade them with "texexec --make --xtx en nl". So I'm completely lost! Can anyone help? Oliver P.S. How can I get "texexec --make --all" to also make the XeTeX formats?
