Header unwanted on first page

Hi all, I can't seem to see something which is certainly obvious! I have this in my setups: \setupheadertexts [section] \setupheader [style=\ss\xii] \setuphead[section][style=bold] I don't want the header to appear on the first page, I tried various solutions but failed so far. Thanks for any good hint! -- Jean

PDF table of contents

Hullo, I wonder how to generate a PDF with the built-in table of contents. I'm thinking in the same line as what 'hyperref' package did in LaTeX. page numbers in Table of Contents, mismatch

Dear ConText gurus, I am faced with a new problem with the page numbering in the Table of Contents. In the appendices, I use: \setuppagenumbering [way=bychapter, chapternumber=yes, numberseparator=-] to get page numbers like A-15, B-24 ... etc However, the page numbers associated with Appendix 1 in the Table of Contents is like 1 Introduction 11 1.1 Goals of Research 11 1.2 Necessity of Research 11 A Real-time Monitoring of Intraseasonal Variations 15 B Drought Monitoring Based on Standardized Precipitation Index 24 I am wondering if there is a way to get ConText to write my TOC as: A Real-time Monitoring of Intraseasonal Variations A-15 B Drought Monitoring Based on Standardized Precipitation Index B-24 My document is structured as follows: \input layout \starttext \startfrontmatter \input HomePage \stopfrontmatter \placelist[chapter,section] \startbodymatter \input Chapter1 \input Chapter2 \stopbodymatter \startappendices \input Appendix1 \input Appendix2 \stopappendices \stoptext Thanks as always, saji -- Saji N. preview-context

Hi! I've asked on auctex ml about the prospects of getting preview-context, similar to preview-latex and here is the reply: "There are no ConTeXt users among the active developers (actually, there is not even much activity in the LaTeX area, but the status quo is rather more advanced). As long as that does not change, I don't see much of a point to talk vapour." (see http://article.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.auctex.general/2387) Since I plan to move to ConTeXt using AUCTeX, I'm interested to hear if there is some interest here (amongst emacs users) to have preview-context withing AUCTeX package? otoh, I'm interested if there is newer version of etexshow (Browser for ConTeXt commands) ? Chemistry in lists

Hi all, I have some chemical formulae in chapter heading and figure captions, typeset with the chemic module. The chemic module always uses roman font as desired. When I include them in table of contents and list of figures, the chemical formulae appears in math italic font instead of roman font. See the following code for example. Chemic Manual mentioned using \rm but it doesn't seem to be the case. $\rm H_2O$ works fine in the list, but not \chemical{H_2O}. Any suggestions? Setting up a project

I'm trying a fairly ambitious project to teach myself practical ConTeXt -- typesetting a book I'm writing. As per <http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Project_structure>, I've created files for the project, environment, product, and component. The component file (preface.tex) is the only one with (dummy) content right now. Side questions: Does a project with a single product really require the full hierarchy? Is there a dummy layout I can put into the environment file to test the set-up? Now I want to set up the layout. An example of what I'm trying to achieve is at <http://typophile.com/files/Layout.pdf>, currently done in OpenOffice. I'm not yet asking about fonts; I just want to put the text in the correct places. It doesn't seem that 6×9 (inches) is a built-in size, so my environment file (env_firefly.tex) needs to look something like: \startenvironment env_firefly \definepapersize[sixbynine][ width=6in,height=9in, offset=???,scale=???] \setuppapersize[sixbynine][sixbynine] \setuplayout[... ...] \stopenvironment Do I need to define & name the paper size, or is putting it in the \setuplayout sufficient? What are the "offset" & "scale" in the paper size? I want to have 6″×9″ trim, inner margin of 48pt, outer margin 96pt, top margin 72pt, bottom margin 144pt for starters. Headers and footers, when they exist, are allocated 12 points height and are 12pt away from the text. (See the linked-to example.) I have read several of the manuals, I'm just having trouble putting it all together. Also, I'm not looking for a recipe but guides on developing the layout myself so I can understand it. Hi everybody... (mkii) language-specific options for \placeregister[index] ?

Hi, the following (with mkii) is probably not the most pressuring topic to most of you ... apologies! Although I have set \mainlanguage[de] the register seems to be unaffected. All my cultural heritage (i.e. the Umaut) is ignored!!! o( The problem is the sorting – keywords containing umlauts seem to be sorted after "e": Bestimmung Bühler Bildung Are there language-specific arguments/options for \placeregister[index]?
