How do Windows users call texexec etc.

I have been using Linux since the days of Win 3.1. So I don't know what goes on in the MSWin world any more. Specifically I am writing a guide for typesetting beginners. What should I tell them is a good way to execute e.g., texexec from a Windows environment? Many of them are afraid of the command line. My instinct is to describe a Vim command such as :!texexec % or just give them a script to do that, but there may be a better alternative. Thoughts? -- John Culleton

feature request: \setuplabeltext with ~

Hello, it would be nice, to have by default always a "~" at the end of the label-text instead of the normal space. Example: \setuplabeltext [\s!de] [\v!figure=Abbildung~] instead of \setuplabeltext [\s!de] [\v!figure=Abbildung ] Greetings, Peter -- http://pmrb.free.fr/contact/

Hi Hans, Looking back on this, is it possible to add a key like [notetextcommand=<command#1>] so that one can control things like indentation without resorting to redefining things?: \setupnote[endnote][location=none,margindistance=0em, notetextcommand=\hskip1.2em] seems nice... After playing with your hack I found a simpler solution-) \setupnote[endnote][location=none,margindistance=0em] \def\MyEndnote#1{\endnote{\hskip1.2em #1}} There should be ConTeXt options that do this sort of thing, along the line of \setupitemize, which has e.g., an [atmargin] key. Dear Contexters, Recently I upgraded to MacOS X 10.4 and after that ConTeXt didn't work: upon trying to typeset a file it says: tcsh: /sw/bin/init.csh: No such file or directory. and everything stops. This behaviour seems to be specific to ConTeXt, called from within TeXShop, since typesetting with Plain TeX or LaTeX works without problems. Also typesetting with ConTeXt from a command line interface works fine. Is this natural or I have messed up something? Thank you for your attention. Best regards: OK

footnote text formatting

Dear gang, Normally ConTeXt places the footnote number in the margin with the footnote text completely justified. How do I bring the footnote number just within the left margin (atmargin) and slightly indenting the first line (and only the first line) of the footnote? I have played with setupfootnotes to no avail, though I'm sure this must be trivial. [BUG] \setuphead style vs textstyle/numberstyle setting

It seems that one can't retrieve the textstyle or numberstyle settings from a \setuphead when using \placeheadnumber, as suggested in details.pdf (the example file is more or less a rip-off of the suggested layout at the end of that document). One way to fix this is to use \headnumber[chapter] and put the style directives before it in the \hbox, but that's not really a solution, just a workaround. I've looked through the sources involved in this, but I haven't been able to find anything wrong.
