texfont bugs

Hi folks. Looks like the current texfont is a bit broken right now. I believe it's the introduction of the "if ($IsWin32) " block: the pragma "use Win32::API" doesn't seem to work within the conditional block. Furthermore, I'm not sure the else block that follows comes to a sane ending, so I was unsure of the fix. I take it the change was to address embedded spaces on windows systems? I'm all in favour of tying up loose x-platform ends (esp those I may have left in my wake), but I think there's been a step backwards. How to adress footnote's numbers in main text?

Dear colisters, as I typeset my text with oldstyle figures I also have the footnote's numbers in oldstyle. But those figures look quite strange when set superscript in the text. Changing the footnote's numbers in the footnote area (bottom) was possible by: \definefont [MajuskelFNfont][OldStyle at 8.5pt] \setupfootnotes[numbercommand=\MajuskelFNfont,rule=\MyRule] But how can I adress the superscript footnote's numbers in the main text?? Happy for any reply, Steffen

Hi, When I trying with new commands I noticed that: \framed[align=left,width=broad]{left} \framed[align=right,width=broad]{right} produced: |-------------------| | left| |-------------------| |-------------------| |right | |-------------------| Why ?... ;) -- Best regards Martin

italic correction

Dear syndicate, Sometimes I make a definition like \def\TR{\it} for certain purposes (structural consistency, etc.). How do I modify this to automatically do an italic correction the way \em is set up to do in \ConTeXt? ====================== By the way, did Hans ever make a "final" ConTeXt logo? I still think that \def\Context{{\sc C\kern -.0667emo\kern -.0667emn\kern -.0549emt\kern -.1667em\lower .5ex\hbox {e}\kern -.125emx\kern -.0549emt}} looks better than Con\TeX{}t (and the smaller \TeX better reflects its relative role in the whole package), and I've been using the former up to now. Hi Hans, hi Jens! There is always another surprise in ConTexT. I mean: How should I know? My sources are Hans's manuals + the list-archiv. Neither in the manuals nor in the archive \setuphanging or \starthanging is mentioned... So I am sorry for asking for things that maybe already exist! But now I have to ask: how do I use \setuphanging or \starthanging actually? Is there some kind of documentation or at least a minimal example somewhere? Thanks for the lessons. Steffen

Hi all! I've just finished (?) reinstalling and configuring my TeX system. It is quite small conglomerate of cont-bas, cont-tmf and my own packages. I've successfully generated all formats using fmtutil. However I have some troubles with 'cont-en'; it was successfully generated but do not work properly. I tried to do that also with texexec 'shell'. I need pl language hyphenation patterns as a default and for some cases also en and de. That's why I uncommented following lines in cont-usr.tex file: ... \installlanguage [\s!de] [\c!status=\v!start] \installlanguage [\s!en] [\c!status=\v!start] \installlanguage [\s!pl] [\c!status=\v!start] ... \setupcurrentlanguage[\s!pl] \definefilesynonym [font-cmr] [font-plr] % \useencoding[fde] % commented by me \useencoding[fpl] ... After these changes I generated format with command texexec --make --language=pl,en,de --bodyfont=plr en Log file (cont-fmt): \unprotect \installlanguage[\s!pl][\c!status=\v!start] \installlanguage[\s!en][\c!status=\v!start] \installlanguage[\s!de][\c!status=\v!start] \setupcurrentlanguage[\s!pl] \definetypescriptsynonym[cmr][plr]\definefilesynonym[font-cmr][font-plr] \protect \endinput Is it correct? After that I expect format with following features: -- interface: english -- default language: polish -- other languages (activated by \language[??]): en,de -- default font: plr The problem is that default font is still CMR and I want to use PLR. Hi, Thanks Hans for the patch concerning enumerations. - Certain things now work as I thought they should, others don't . :-( In the meantime I downloaded and installed the latest (yesterdays) CONTeXT. 1. Numbering starts at 2, and the following items get numberd 4,6, 2. I detected, that the option style=command, I used style=\em, does not give the desired result. The first item would be slanted, the second would be regular and the third again slanted. - Hoewer using style=slanted makes all items slanted. Please find attached a minimal test file (probe.tex) Cheers Willi
