Problems with superscripts and macros

Hello I am having some big problems with superscripts. When I type: -20$^\circ$C I get the expected 20 degrees Celcius (-20oC) However if I put the same sequence in a macro \def\celcius{$^\circ$C} -20\celsius\ Dewpoint -20\celsius Dewpoint I get as result: -20 oCDewpoint -20DoCewpoint Where o symbolizes the degree symbol. What is going on, and more importantly how to solve it. Best Regards, Frank

Patrick, Otared, Adam, thanks for looking into this. Adam's solutions works, wonderful!! Now I'll be able to have lots of "annoying texts" as watermarks. But those were a lot of changes to config files. Though I feel confident on the command line, I must admit I never bothered to look into minstall.pdf; I figured I had a working installation. Adam, you're definitely right: it would be nice if we could have gwtex's standards set to something more useful! Thanks everybody, another satisfied customer! Thomas

reset \use[sub]path

Hi all! Lets consider the following situation. There are 3 catalogs; ./lofo1, ./lofo2, ./lofo3, each of them contains files 'aqq.xml' and 'cow.png' for example. Filenames are the same, but they may have different content. I need to include all these files into one PDF document WITHOUT giving absolute paths in TeX code. I tried something like \usepath[lofo1] \processXMLfilegrouped{aqq.xml} \usepath[lofo2] \processXMLfilegrouped{aqq.xml} \usepath[lofo3] \processXMLfilegrouped{aqq.xml} but in this example the same file (./lofo1/aqq.xml) will be processed 3 times and that is not what I need. Actually the situation is even more complicated; I have quite big XML tree with hunderts of files and images, with dozens of catalogs. I wrote a perl script which change current directory for each process and run texexec in changed one. And it works OK since I want to have separate PDF document from each `lofo?' catalog. But how to make one PDF document in such situation using \use[sub]path texnique? In other words, how to reset settings from \usepath and \usesubpath commands? And how to do the same for externalfigures? Thanks in advance, Pawe/l

hide navigation menu in pdf presentations

Hello out there. I'd like to have a navigation menu in a presentation (Acrobat Reader). But I want to make it visible only when I move the mouse to the area of the menu. So something like "onMouseOver do showThisMenu". What approach should I take? Patrick -- You are your own rainbow!

How to nicely print XHTML to PDF

Hi everybody, would you please put this right, if I'm mistaken. Isn't ConTeXt capable to typeset XML? And isn't it really simple to make XHTML from HTML? So, is there any obstacle against using ConTeXt as customizable quality-typesetting backend for (readjusted/simplyfied) (X)HTML pages? What about power/complexity? How to style output? Indenting all lines in a paragraph, first line excluded

Hello, I'm busy writing a paper using ConTeXt that includes a bibliography. I'm designing the layout of this bibliography and I need a special paragraph style. I want the first line of the paragraph to appear normally, and the second and all consecutive lines to be indented. So basically you can also say that I want an 'inverted' paragraph; instead of an indented first line, I want all the other lines to be indented instead. Is there a simple way to achieve this? I've read the manual looking for clues but so far I haven't been successful. Any hints on where to look? My best, Tim

interaction with radio buttons

Dear all, using the example of radiobuttons in uptodate 1998-01, I fail to get the buttons interactive. When using the pdf doc with Acrobat Reader, the buttons are there but the cursor won't give me the finger when it hovers over them, nor does clicking have any effect. Is there anything I fail to observe?
