Hi all, After a series of exchanges on the list, on the topic of how mathematics typesetting is and should be in ConTeXt, I am writing you this message to ask all those who use ConTeXt to typeset mathematics and who encounter various types of difficulties, or shortcomings, to send me their remarks, either on list or off list. I will check the problems with Aditya Mahajan and Mikael Sundqvist, and then submit feature requests or bug reports to Hans and Aditya who will try to fix the issues (I have asked these people about this, and they all agree…). In order to help me manage efficiently the task, please add the following tag [Math on ConTeXt] to the Subject field of your message. The issues which may be addressed are of the following categories: 1. Differences in the output of ConTeXt mkiv vs mkii (due to differences in engine) 2. Differences in the output of ConTeXt mkiv vs LuaLaTeX + Opentype math fonts (due to differences in macro package) 3. Differences in the output of ConTeXt mkiv vs PDFLaTeX + AMSMath (due to differences in expectation) 4. Bug reports (regarding commands of plain TeX missing in ConTeXt, the position of math accents, etc…) Indeed some of the issues may have their origin in the fonts (therefore not easy to fix thouroughly), but others may be fixed once the expectations are clearly expressed. As usual, please give minimal examples imbedded in \starttext ……… \stoptext so that we can test the issue you are reporting. Thanks for your attention and cooperation, Best regards: OK

How to center a \placefloat?

Hi list, I'd like to have a figure (by means of \placefigure) centered horizontally. Currently, I'm doing \placefigure[bottom,none,middle]{}{% \hbox to\textwidth{\hfil\externalfigure[logo-2-t][height=1.5cm]\hfil}} Is there a better way? If yes, how to do this? 1. \setupbackgrounds with colours 2. \textwidth = 1.09\textwidth?

Hello listmembers, 1. With "\setupbackgrounds" finally I achieved what I intended (see pdf-file), according to Context reference manual p. 187. But a question remains: Is it a feature of context not to colourize header and footer alone, but only in conjunction with text? 2. In the appended pdf-file it is also to be seen, that the horizontal \hrule strokes are wider than \textwidth, i.e. they begin in leftmargin and extend to within rightmargin, whereas the vertical \vrule strokes exactly are as high as expected. Is there a bug in my program? Indenting after floating image

Dear All, when an indenting is set, it is applied in a smart way and sometimes suppressed, e.g after images. But when the image is floating and forced to be displayed on a separate page, I would expect the indenting of the following paragraph preserved. Currently it doesn't, see this example: \setupexternalfigures[location=default] \setupindenting[medium, yes] \starttext \input{ward} \startplacefigure[number=no, location={page}, title={}] \externalfigure[cow] \stopplacefigure \input{ward} \stoptext Is there a global switch for it or am I to force the indenting in these cases manually? ConTeXt minimal on chromebook

I attempted to put ConTeXt minimal on Samsung chromebook and got: Error: your system "Linux armv7l" is not supported yet. Please report to the ConTeXt mailing-list (ntg-context(a)ntg.nl) This is not a request to support the armv7l (unless it is trivial) but, is it futile to attempt installing minimal on a chromebook with Intel ATOM N570, or Intel Celeron-867? (If I had them at hand I would try.)

wrong \sc i with Palatino Linotype

Dear list, I have noticed that ConTeXt (beta from 2014.02.14 17:07) has a problem with Palatino Linotype. Here the sample: \definefontfeature[capstosc][c2sc=yes] \definefontfamily[mainface][serif][Palatino Linotype] \setupbodyfont[mainface] \starttext {\addfeature[capstosc] AEIOU} \sc aeiou \stoptext All vowels are fine, but the i is a dotted small cap i. The regular small cap i is defined as i.sc (and the dotted small cap i is defined as i.sc too). But FontForge applies both c2sc and smcp substitutions fine. Is there any way to solve this? Pgfplots - passing point coordinates by Lua

Hello, I just started experimenting with pgfplots package. I'd have two questions: 1) When plotting/loading a data file: Is it possible to specify the comment mark, which is '#' and '%" by default? I'd need to treat ';' as a comment mark, too. 2) How to pass coordinates of plot points by Lua?
