placefigure and listoffigures

Hi, How can one suppress the addition of a placed figure to the listoffigures? In the following MWE, list=no places "no" as an alternative to the (blank) title. Page number woes

Greetings all! I have a book setup that worked perfectly as long as the inside cover was only one page long. But then we added information to the inside cover and had to split the information on two pages. The so called inside cover works fine, the TOC works fine, but the main text part (starting with Intro) begins now on page 2 when it should be on page 1. And this happens even when the TOC is two pages long, which is a bit weird (I would assume that if it counts TOC into page numbers, two-page TOC would mean that Intro starts on page 3, but nope, it still starts on page 2). The minimal sample attached to this message is really ugly as it doesn't contain any of the environment files, but the problem is visible here just as well as in the real thing - if I make the second page of the inside cover disappear, Intro starts on page 1 as it should. If the so called inside cover is two pages long, Intro starts on page 2. (The file to be compiled is prd-pr43-general_test.tex, the others are component files.) It is quite possible the TOC file is the culprit and it has been pure luck that everything has worked until now... I don't understand the page mechanism in ConTeXt well enough to see where the problem is. I noticed that my ConTeXt version is pretty old: "ConTeXt ver: 2015.02.03 23:55 MKIV beta" (hmm... I didn't update at ConTeXt meeting as I usually do, stupid me.) I'd rather not update just now (production in sensitive phase), but if you think the problem will go away with an update, I'll do it. How to store command line arguments in ConTeXt LUA Documents?

Hi all, Is it possible to store context command line arguments into lua variables? I found http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Command/getdocumentargument but it only prints the argument. I can not store it for further processing. What I would like to do is something like this: -- start of the example something = context.getcommandlineargument("ARG1") -- doesn't exist -- make some tests here to check if 'something' has the right syntax context.startdocument{title = something} context.input("knuth") context.stopdocument() -- end of the example Then, one has just to launch: $ context file.cld --ARG1="My first title" Thanks in advance. -- Romain Diss

PDF Signature Fields

Hello all, is there currently any mechanism in ConTeXt similar to the LaTeX digsig or eforms package? I want to add a form field that can be digitally signed (which is now already possible with Acrobat Reader, not just with Acrobat Pro). Additionally (like the mentioned eforms package) it would be nice, if you could specify other form fields that should be locked once the signature field is actually signed (according to the PDF spec this is simply set via a dictionary). Anyway: can this currently be achieved with ConTeXt? If not: is there any chance to get that feature added sometime? :-) Best regards Andreas

font problem

I have had trouble processing text with diacritical marks using the more recent betas and the Brill font. Some of this can be remedied by re-entering the diacritical marks in the source file. (This works very well with Greek.) But there remain some problem passages. Diamond, and Unicode math symbols

I'm looking for a symbol similar to \lozenge, but squarer (like \Diamond in some LaTeX packages, see The Comprehensive Symbol List, p. 112). Any idea how I may typeset it in ConTeXt (MKIV)? \diamond is too small. I am using TeX Gyre Pagella Math if that matters. I also have a couple of questions about \showmathfontcharacters: 1) does that list show all and only the symbols available in the current font, or a predefined list of symbols? 2) The list shows a Unicode point for each symbol, but not the corresponding TeX command (if it exists). Say I need U+02B31 (three leftwards arrows), and I don't want to bother searching TCSL above. May I use the Unicode code point to define a control sequence in ConTeXt that prints the symbol? If so, how? Nicola

Table of Contents

I’m using using pandoc and ConTeXt to generate pdf documentation from markdown. I started with the option to use latex (xetex) and swapped to ConTeXt, letting pandoc create the conTeXt file and invoke ConTeXt on it.C Both produce a table of contents active links etc. which is pretty much identical but the xetex version in my various pdf readers can show it in side panel referred to as Table of Contents or outline. This is really nice because it makes it just a click or swipe away. Following advice from Pablo I’ve swapped over to generating XHTML and using the XML mapping ability to generate ConTeXt and the PDF. Using this route the TOC looks the same but it’s no longer there in the outline panel. What do I need in addition to \completecontent to get this feature to work? Aidan

Show the results of XML mapping

When I map from XML to ConTeXt there are lots of rules mapping lots of small bit of XML to small bits of ConTeXt and it is hard get the big picture. If something doesn’t work in the final PDF document it can be hard to know if the mapping failed to match the XML or if the generated ConTeXt was wrong. Is there a way to capture the ConTeXt generated from the mapping rules before it goes on to produce the final document? Thanks Aidan

Thanks Pablo That did it. I found the \placebookmarks in the pandoc template once I knew what I was looking for. I also found \setupinteractionscreen[option=bookmark] so I get it displayed when the document is opened. Aidan
