Simple input vs component structure

Hi all, I have a set of reference manuals that consist of a number of chapters. Those documents pull in the individual chapters via \input commands. I have just recently discovered that ConTeXt actually DOES support a project/product/component structure. So, I have been experimenting with making the individual reference manuals ‘products’ and converting all chapters into ‘components’. However, I wonder what that actually gains me? What are the benefits of this product/component structure? It looks like I can reference other sections in these other components, but I can do that now even with the simple \input. What am I missing? Another related question in this context is: What do I actually expect when I run the project file, as in: $ context project.tex ConText runs for a little while, and actually states in the log somewhere result saved in file: project.pdf, compresslevel 3, objectcompresslevel 3 but no such file is generated; it also does not build the individual components? Nonbreaking, non-vanishing horizontal spaces above underbar

Dear all, I would like to create cloze texts with solutions, but I have problems with horizontal spaces above the underbar, namely: 1) After a linebreak, horizontal space is cut off despite the \zwj. 2) I cannot find a way of scaling the leading and trailing space to equal 0.2 times the width of the text above the underbar. Indentation after formula

Looks like a bug: If there is no text immediately following a formula, the following paragraph is not treated as such, but as the text following it. \setupbodyfont[xits,10pt] \setupmathematics[integral=nolimits, lcgreek=normal, default=normal] \setupindenting[yes,medium,next] \starttext Formula without following text \startformula e^{i𝛼} = \cos 𝛼 + i\sin 𝛼 \stopformula New paragraph, but not indented. Bug: \registerunit is not case sensitive

Dear list, I would like to point out the following bug: \registerunit is not case sensitive. This means that if I register “N” for Newton, “n” for nano is overwritten. MWE: \registerunit[unit][N=newton] \starttext Newton: \unit{1N}, nano meter: \unit{1nm} \stoptext Best regards, Florian

Formula starting with brackets

In the example below, using latest ConTeXt, the bracket "[f]” does not show when using \startformula. \setupbodyfont[xits,10pt] \setupmathematics[lcgreek=normal, default=normal] \starttext \startformula [f] = B \stopformula $$ [f] = B $$ \stoptext

Math letters in commands

Just found that the code below does not work as intended, because \𝐝𝐢𝐦 will be parsed as \𝐝 followed by 𝐢𝐦. Can’t tell if it ought to be changed, though one could think other cases where it might be natural. Building a Component

Hi all, I am just familiarising myself with projects/products/components. I have a number of documents that all belong to a large set of Reference Manuals and so far I have built them all separately and have relied a lot on the simple \input... statement. I assume with projects/products/components I might be able to do something much smarter. Let’s see. I get stuck quite early on, though. I have created a minimal component file ‘component-1.tex’ and when I build it, context runs into what seems to be an infinite recursion.
