Font installation help needed!

Hi, I'm currently using ConTeXt version: mtx-context | ConTeXt Process Management 0.60 mtx-context | mtx-context | main context file: /home/verhaag/context/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/context.mkiv mtx-context | current version: 2013.08.11 20:23 I'd like to use the Advent Pro font, so I downloaded the font and have 7 ttf files available. After looking around for some manual I found: "Integrating TrueType Fonts into ConTEXt" by Thomas A. Schmitz. Immediately I run into problems when trying to run the texfont command. My Linux (ubuntu 14.04) says: The program 'texfont' is currently not installed. I did a standalone installation years ago of this version of ConTeXt, and don't dare to upgrade because I might run into other issues, sorry! Any hints on how to procede installing the Advent Pro font to this version of ConTeXt are very much welcomed! Regards, Gerard --

accessing glyphs in the private area

The font Coelacanth (on CTAN) has glyphs in the private area. Between 2/2017 (luaotfload in texlive 2017) and now the storing and accessing of this glyphs has changed. In the lua of the font of 2017 I find e.g. [62860]={ ["boundingbox"]=165, ["index"]=2622, ["unicode"]=62860, ["width"]=523, and the glyph can be accessed with \Uchar62860 In the current lua I now find [983910]={ ["boundingbox"]=195, ["index"]=2622, ["unicode"]=62860, ["width"]=523, }, and \Uchar62860 not longer works, one has to use \Uchar983910. Is this change intentional? How is one supposed to access such chars? The manual says about \Uchar that it "expands to the associated Unicode character." but this seems no longer to be true. Metafun scaling problem

Hi Hans, hi all, I think, that recent context has a problem with scaling included pdf files. My minimal file: \startMPpage draw externalfigure "cow.pdf" ; \stopMPpage The resulting pdf is, as the original, 97x70.6 mm, all ok. If I try to scale to the original size, i get arithmetic overflow error. \startMPpage draw externalfigure "cow.pdf" xscaled 97mm yscaled 70.6mm ; \stopMPpage Whe i scale it down, the pdf gets really big. \startMPpage draw externalfigure "cow.pdf" xscaled 27.5mm yscaled 20mm ; \stopMPpage results in a pdf with width of 4.938,8 mm and height of 2.612,3 mm. I tested with recent context and luatex under windows 64 and linux-armhf. Greetings Lutz

Given how many reports are appearing in the few days that this has been exposed to a larger number of uses via LaTeX, use of PUA characters really isn't a rare occurrence at all. If you need to allocate a block for internal use wouldn't it be possible to use one of the high areas Supplementary Private Use Area-A or B (U+F0000 - U+FFFFF) (U+100000 - U+10FFFF) ? The BMP PUA block (U+E000 U+F8FF) just has so many documented uses in existing fonts. table making ugly column sizes, how to fix?

Full example at the bottom. I'm making a table. So far so good. Every so often I want to make something like a section header. Regular table rows are like this: \bTR\bTC \eTC\bTC NightShift \eTC\bTC Tension Lines 146 - 150 \eTC\eTR For the section headers, I do this, and they look the way I want: \bTR\bTC 30. \eTC \bTC[nc=2,align=center,style=] \bf{Foo Bar} \eTC\eTR But then the regular lines have ugly line breaks and suddenly the column size of column 3 is squeezed. This shouldn't be, we have the whole page to work with. So, when I do my section headers this way, the columns come out sized nicely, but the section header isn't styled the way I want it: \bTR\bTC 30. \eTC \bTC\eTC \bTC[align=center] \bf{Foo Bar} \eTC\eTR Below is my minimal example you can cut and paste. Dear Otared, What do you mean “does not typeset correctly as expected”? I copied and tested the last example and got the result without error. One problem is that the vertical alignment is not centered as the example of Aditya’s. Would you please tell me what I miss? Thank you. Which color model shall I use

Hi, I would like to know, how to define colors to have a good printing quality. I am currently producing print materials for a company where all colors were defined for online usage first, so we started with defining RGB colors and then derived CMYK colors. What is the best approach for defining colors in print materials? What color model shall I use? RGB or CMYK? For the background. We have some SVG graphics we use on the website. They are defined in RGB color model. And we use them in the print materials as well. I tend to define RGB colors in my print documents so that the colors of the included SVG files match the defined colors I use elsewhere in the document. Eg. the Corporate-Blue of the Logo (SVG) will match the Blue of the headlines. I could as well define CMYK colors in the document but then I have two different color models in one document and I fear that the colors are printed in different hues. What would you do? TIA juh
