Hi, I am experimenting with using lua libraries with lmtx. I tried the following: 1. Download the lcomplex library (from http://webserver2.tecgraf.puc-rio.br/~lhf/ftp/lua/ar/lcomplex-100.tar.gz) 2. Untar and modify the Makefile so that LUA_TOPDIR points to the right location (/usr in my case). 3. Run make. This creates a complex.so file in the current directory. 4. Create a test file (and put complex.so in the same directory) \starttext \startluacode local complex=require("complex") z = complex.new(1,1); context("The absolute value of $z=%f + j%f$ is $%f$", z:real(), z:imag(), z:abs()); \stopluacode \stoptext This file runs correctly with mkiv, but when I try to run it with lmtx, I get the error lua error > lua error on line 8 in file /home/adityam/Software/lcomplex/lcomplex-100/test.tex: ...etatex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/mkiv/l-package.lua:325: error loading module 'complex' from file './complex.so': ./complex.so: undefined symbol: lua_gettop Any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it? how to get reference label from stacked itemize

Could someone point me to the docs where to find the proper way to make a reference to some stacked itemize context? \startitemize[n] \item One \item Two \startitemize[a] \item A \item B Test \stopitemize \stopitemize how to label / ref the generated label for item 2.b ? see (2.b) Test Thanks! .Floris van Manen

LMTX: 32-bit binaries for 64-bit system

Hello Today I tried to update the lmtx-installation on 64-bit Linux. The update worked fine, but now I get: # context /home/username/lmtx/tex/texmf-linux-64/bin/context: No such file or directory Same for mtxrun. Redo a fresh install doesn't work either. # ./install.sh /install.sh: 94: ./install.sh: /home/username/test/bin/mtxrun: not found Digging in the problem I found, that the 64-bit installer has 32-bit binaries. The same as in the 32-bit installation. On a system with compatibility libraries the new install works, but on a pure 64-bit system there is a problem. Could you please fix or tell me what I miss. Cascaded description

Hello, I'm trying to get nested descriptions (using "tab") to form a "cascade". The result should look like: AAA ababababababab ababababababab BBB ababababab ababababab CCC ababab ababab <--> indent (margin?) of the first nested description in relation to its parent should equal width of parent's head (+ distance?), i.e. width of "AAA ", <--> indent (margin?) of the second nested description in relation to its parent should equal width of parent's head (+ distance?), i.e. width of "BBB ", <------> so it should be width of "AAA " + 'width of "BBB " in total. I'm not able to achieve this. My code so far is (and I also played with various combinations of alternative, margin, hang, indent...): ---- \starttext A \bgroup \setuptab[headstyle={\bold\tt},sample=123,width=fit,alternative=left] \starttab{abc} \input knuth \starttab{def} \input knuth \stoptab \stoptab \egroup \bgroup \setuptab[headstyle={\bold\tt},sample=123456,width=fit,alternative=hanging] \starttab{ghijkl} \input knuth \starttab{mnopqr} \input knuth \stoptab \stoptab \egroup \stoptext ---- - Paragraphs of "abc" and "def": size of indentation of the paragraphs is good in relation to width of head, but paragraph "def" is not "cascaded". - Paragraphs "ghijkl" and "mnopqr" are "cascaded" well; but width of (margin?) is any - it is not related to the width of the sample text. Dear Hans, I have installed both ConTeXt LMTX and ConTeXt MKIV side by side. But I have a problem to run it. If it is OK to run a file in LMTX environment, then I got a following error when I run it in MKIV environment. “I can’t fine a file …../defFonts.tex” even though it is there. To resolve it, I run “mtxrun —generate” in MKIV. But it invoke the same type error in LMTX. Here are the command in Atom editor which I use to run it. LMTX: source /Users/graph/ConTeXtLMTX/tex/setuptex; context {filePath} MKIV: source /Users/graph/ConTeXt/tex/setuptex; context {filePath} I may avoid it by adding “mtxrun —generate” before compiling it. But it isn’t a good solution. I think that there is a better way to do this. Would you please tell me how to fix it or what is a better way? Thank you for reading. In terminal: mtxrun --autogenerate --script context --autopdf Test.tex -> resolvers | initialization | fatal error: kpse library is accessed (key: default_texmfcnf) All works from within TexShop.

How to update LMTX?

Dear list, With ConTeXt standalone there was an easy way to update the install script and the distrivution using rsync -ptv rsync://contextgarden.net/minimals/setup/first-setup.sh . sh ./first-setup.sh --context=latest --engine=luatex --modules=all --fonts=all For LMTX it seems that I have to download the zip from http://www.pragma-ade.nl/install.htm, extract it and then run install.sh to account for possibly updated installation scripts. Is there a resource where I can download the (unzipped) install script and binaries via rsync directly? On another note, it seems that I can't install modules and fonts in LMTX. When running mtxrun --script mtx-install.lua --help I can see the options --modules and --fonts but running bin/mtxrun --script ./bin/mtx-install.lua --update --server="..." --instance="..." --modules=all --fonts=all seems to have no effect. How do I install modules and fonts? Cheers, Henri

Archlinux package for luametatex

Hi, I create a archlinux AUR for luametatex: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/luametatex/ Those using archlinux can now use their favorite AUR helper to install luametatex. It installs the files in /opt/luametatex and has the following features: 1. If texlive is installed, a symlink to '/usr/share/texmf-dist/fonts' is created at '/opt/luametatex/texmf-fonts/fonts'. This way, all fonts installed via texlive are available in context. 2. It context minimals is installed via AUR, a symlink to '/opt/context-minimals/texmf-modules' is created at 'opt/luametatex/texmf-modules'. So, all the context modules are available. 3. A setuptex file is created at /opt/luametatex/setuptex. So, it is easier to switch back and forth between lmtx and mkiv. Aditya

Drawing scaled externalfigure in Metapost produces erroneous size in the latest beta

Hello! The simple Metapost code that follows worked fine until upgrading to recent beta. I don't have a clue exactly when this behaviour was introduced since I switched just recently from the standard Texlive version available in Arch Linux. \starttext \startMPcode draw externalfigure "test.pdf" scaled 10mm; \stopMPcode \stoptext Now it produces a graphic with size of approximately 110 mm at least in my system with various test files which previously scaled just fine.. Any help is greatly appreciated. -Thorsten S.
