Wrong breaks in footnote for column texts

Hi Hans, as mentioned a few times by others long footnote entries have problems with line breaks. Dear list members, I would like to add a tag to a block so I can easily select a few blocks and print them in another chapter. In the below MWE I would like to print the normal (non-tagged) block in the first chapter. The second block with the tag [exam] should not be processed in the first chapter and only appear in the second chapter. According to the wiki and reference manual it should be possible using either \useblocks or \selectblocks but I can't get it to work. Who can help me out? XML Export: Suppressing Presentation Forms in Arabic Script Fonts

Dear gang, Just documented the following in the wiki: https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Export#Suppressing_Presentation_Forms_in_Ara… For those who use certain commercial Arabic-script fonts with XML export: In the course of ConTeXt processing, many standard codepoints from the U+600 block are substituted with those from a subset of Presentation Forms B, which breaks the input in critical ways. newlines in return Lua string

From \ctxlua{tex.print(hvdm.myluacall("\xmlatt{#1}{argument}"))} Lua returns a string containing newline characters '\n'. In ConTeXt this returned string is printed as one line, the embedded newlines are not honoured. I thought to replace with \crlf in this manner: string1 .. "\\crlf" .. string2 but the returned \crlf are not executed as such. How to force \crlf's in the executed return? dr. Hans van der Meer

aligning rotated text in a natural table

I am trying to align rotated text horizontally and vertically in a table cell. Vertically is no problem, horizontally it fails. Non-rotated text is, of course, fine. What can I do to fix the problem? mkii to mkiv - what an ancient user needs to know

Hi all. Long-time user but haven't posted in a long while... After many happy years of running a mkii set up I am finally facing the fact that time has moved on and upgrading to mkiv. I understand the biggest change needed to my sources is in the fonts handling, but I am getting a few other problems with things like chapter/sectioning setups that I can't see mentioned in https://www.contextgarden.net/MkIV_Differences I was wondering if there exists a comprehensive "what you have to change in your sources to move from mkii to mkiv" document anywhere or, failing that, if anyone can offer guidance on what has changed in the chapter/sectioning setups code between the two. Apologies for not supplying an example of code - I'm not yet at the point that that's possible. Any help much appreciated. And hello to anyone who remembers me from fifteen plus years ago! Duncan
