Using \currentreferencenumber triggers “has a hidden number” in log file

Hi, I use \enabletrackers [structures.referencing.empty] to catch references by number to sections without a number. The log file contains “has a hidden number…” in that case. I have a command that uses \currentreferencenumber which triggers the “has a hidden number…” warning in the log file. But that command takes care not to output the contents of that variable. But merely using it in an \doif\currentreferencenumber is sufficient to trigger the log message. Example: \enabletrackers [structures.referencing.empty] \def\foo[#1]{%% \doifreferencefoundelse{#1}{%% \doifelse\currentreferencenumber\emptyreference {Foo}{Bar}}%% } \setuphead [section] [number=no] \starttext \startsection [title=Foo, reference=sec:foo] \samplefile{knuth} \stopsection \foo[sec:foo] \stoptext Then check the log file for “has a hidden number”. 1) How to not trigger the log message when checking \currentreferencenumber? Or alternatively 2) Is there a better way to find invisible references? Marco

Column spacing in MathML in mkiv

Hi all. If I want to set the space between columns in a MathML <mtable>, how do I do it? Minimal non-working example below (set the attribute columnspacing to anything you like and it seems to be ignored). bug with fonts in LMTX (Win7)?

Hi Wolfgang, I’m afraid LMTX cannot use \ss and \cg fonts in this sample (on Win7): \definefontfamily[mainface][rm][TeX Gyre Heros] \definefontfamily[mainface][mm][TeX Gyre Termes Math] \definefontfamily[mainface][ss][Gill Sans MT][tf=file:GIL_____.TTF] \definefontfamily[mainface][tt][Cousine] \definefontfamily[mainface][cg][Arial Narrow][tf=file:ARIALN.TTF] \setupbodyfont[mainface] \startbuffer \ConTeXt\ is awesome!\par \stopbuffer \starttext \startTEXpage[offset=1em] \getbuffer \ss\getbuffer \tt\getbuffer \cg\getbuffer \stopTEXpage \stoptext The fonts are there (as reported in https://mailman.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2019/094955.html) I don’t know whether this issue could be fixed. Hi! Columnsets not balanced

Dear list, In the following example I would like to have the two columns balanced, i.e. with equal number of lines in both columns. noindent vs noindentation in strc-con

Hi, Why do all the rendering setups in strc-con.mkvi use \noindent? Can the \noindet be replaced by \noindentation? \noindent has some side effects. For example, consider this recent question on TeX.SE: https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/499464/context-empty-line-in-enumer… which basically boils down to the difference between: \showboxes \starttext \noindent \inmargin{Example 1} \startitemize \item This is how enumeration works. \stopitemize \inmargin{Example 2} \startitemize \item This works correctly \stopitemize \stoptext Note that the first example has an extra space before the itemize. In principle, replacing \noindent by \noindentation fixes the extra line break, but it does not work with enumerations because it uses \inmargin[scope=local]: \showboxes \starttext \noindentation \inmargin[scope=local]{Example 1} \startitemize \item This is how enumeration works. \stopitemize \inmargin[scope=local]{Example 2} \startitemize \item This works correctly \stopitemize \stoptext where the box containing "noindentation" is misgligned. reference containing parentheses causes trouble

Dear List, Warning: The following may be a bug or feature or just my misunderstanding! It seems that parentheses cause trouble in references. MNWE: \starttext \section[sec:one(two)]{One} As you see in sec.~\in[sec:one(two)], \stoptext The "in sec.~\in[sec:one(two)]" typesets as "in sec. ??" and the log shows: references > start missing references references > 1 [][sec:one(two)] references > stop missing references (It all works fine upon deleting "(two)" throughout.) Is this behavior known and expected? If it is, I'll add a note to the "References" page on the wiki. -Sanjoy

registers: subentry indentation different from word--number gap?

I don't think the current behavior is a bug, so the following is a feature request: With the following fairly minimal example \setupregister[index][indicator=no, distance=0.5em] \starttext ABC\index{x}DEF\index{x+yyz} \blank \placeindex \stoptext the distance parameter sets (1) the hanging indentation of the 'yyz' subentry and also (2) the distance between an entry and its pagenumber. (That's what a look at strc-reg.mkiv shows too.) It's a matter of taste, but my eye thinks that 0.5em is right for no. 2, but too small for no. 1 -- whereas the default (1em) is just right for no. 1 but too large for no. 2. Thus, could the two dimensions be decoupled and bcome settable indepently? Perhaps keep 'distance' for the entry--pagenumber distance (no. 2), which is its meaning on the wiki, and invent 'subdistance' for the hanging indent (no. 1)? I've just realized a cheap hack to do the same, so maybe it's not worth messing with backward compatability by adding a new parameter.
