Hi When using refernece instead of column mode in start combination: Is it possible to tell context to place the reference label left or right of the picture/table etc and not below? Or do i have to use multiple columns and put reference manually and how? \startquotation and citations

Greetings, I would like to add a citation to a block quotation. Wolfgang proposed a solution <https://www.mail-archive.com/ntg-context@ntg.nl/msg55956.html>back in May 2011. With \star-stopquotation, the left quotation mark protrudes to the left of the text. With Wolfgang's solution, the quotation marks are aligned with the text. For consistency's sake, I need cited and non-cited quotations to appear alike. A lot has changed in the last nine years. Is there a newer way to achieve this behavior? Cheers, Michael

Distance between table rows

Hi all, Trying to make my life a bit easier to add distances between tabulate rows. Found the \TB macro on the wiki. But why does below code _not_ add extra space when using the freshly defined \SR command below. So between the _second_ and _third_ row? Some TeX expansion thing going on here? ``` \define\SR {\NC\NR\TB[halfline]} \starttabulate[|r|l|] \NC one \NC two \NC\NR \NC two \NC three \SR \NC four \NC five \NC\NR \TB[halfline] \NC five \NC six \NC\NR \stoptabulate ``` Cheers, Tim

reference a paragraph

Hello, One creates references for structure elements as, for example, \startsubject [reference=sub:mysubject] ... \stopsubject and then can refer to these using, e.g. \on{page} [sub:subject] How might one reference a *paragraph*, for example? Parallel syntax might suggest \startparagraph [reference=p:myparagraph] but this is not implemented. Perhaps there is another referencing command that I am not aware of? Thank you Alan

Changing default rule thickness (globally)

Hi! I would like to change the rule thickness that is used by default in ConTeXt. However, from the command documentation (http://www.pragma-ade.nl/general/qrcs/setup-en.pdf) I see that I would need to basically change this for \basegrid[rulethickness=...] \setupbar[rulethickness=...] \setupchemical[rulethickness=...] \setupeffect[rulethickness=...] \setupfillinlines[rulethickness=...] \setupfillinrules[rulethickness=...] \setupframed[rulethickness=...] \setuplinefillers[rulethickness=...] \setupmarginrules[rulethickness=...] \setupmixedcolumns[rulethickness=...] \setupnote[rulethickness=...] \setupparagraphs[rulethickness=...] \setupsidebar[rulethickness=...] \setuptables[rulethickness=...] \setuptabulation[rulethickness=...] \setuptextbackground[rulethickness=...] \setuptextrules[rulethickness=...] \setupthinrules[rulethickness=...] \setupxtable[rulethickness=...] (And for \setupbackgrounds for [top header text footer bottom].) How to calculate the height of text of a certain width?

Hello dear All, the following MWE works best: \definelayer[LAY] \starttext \setlayerframed[LAY] [x=0pt,y=20pt] [frame=on, width=300pt, align={right,}] % tolerant}] {\input ward } \flushlayer[LAY] \stoptext Now, it could have a favourable effect on designing a page if the height of a text of certain width could be calculated in advance, depending of the font. Is there a way? As I fear, TeX's means "\setbox" woun't work with aligned texts. Best wishes, remain healthy, Rudolf

Do you know a wroking ubuntu debian repo/ppa for installing context and all related? Alternatively as i do get lua errors what luaversion would you recommend and what additional lua packages are necessary possibly not considered by jonathanf? troubles with latin modern and mutool

Hello, I am facing some unexpected troubles while splitting my lessons to send them to my pupils. My idea was to use mutool draw to extract only the pages of my presentations relevant to my lesson of the day. Unfortunately, when I do for example mutool draw -o file-beginning.pdf file.pdf 2,5 This extracts pages 2 to 5 I got those warnings warning: cannot create ToUnicode mapping for GWKFXT+LMSans10-Regular The resulting pdf is perfectly readable on my computer, but some pupils claimed they received garbage encoding and an unreadable pdf (on OSX at least). This might be a mutool bug, so I don't send any MWE. Do you know any alternative to mutool draw to send clean pdf from pages of my presentations? Regards, Damien Thiriet
