Formula numbering and counter

Hi, I would like to change the numbering of several formulae as follows: <mathematical expression> (1.1) <mathematical expression> (1.2a) % here is <mathematical expression> (1.2b) % the problem <mathematical expression> (1.3) I don't know how to access the formula counter for the English interface of ConTeXt. (I only know that it is \formulenummer for the Dutch one.) Also, how do you control the counter incrementation to produce (1.2a), (1.2b) and the jump to (1.3) as automatic as possible ? (I know that I have to use \eqalignno and &(<macroformulanumber>) for the generation of the number.) Thank you in advance for your answers. Regards, Pierre.

texexec not finding cont-en

I know this has been asked before, but I'm not getting it. I'm installing ConTeXt on Linux (Mandrake 9.0) with teTeX. I've installed the default teTeX distribution that comes with Mandrake. I've installed the latest ConTeXt beta I've edited texexec.ini, commenting out the reference to l:/... I've edited ... what was it ... fmtedit?? darn, can't remember, but I uncommented two lines that refer to cont-en and cont-nl I've run texhash texexec --make en nl texhash I've added to PATH: /usr/share/texmf /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/base /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/config I've made cont-en.tex and cont-en.ini executable so far, so good. But texexec --pdf filename.tex returns with sh: line 1: cont-en: command not found so cont-en is either not on the path or not executable, right? Please be explicit: are we talking about cont-en.tex, cont-en.ini, or cont-en.tws? Where is the usual place to put it? When adding to path, is the shell environment PATH variable what's meant? or is there some way within ConTeXt to set a path? What else could be wrong? Gary

Crash in landscape mode [MikTeX]

If you use MikTeX and the 1.10b version of pdfetex, please try this out. If not, you are free to skip or read on :) I don't know why, but this simple piece of ConTeXt-code crashes with the version 1.10b of pdfetex. I use the lastest MikTeX version and the latest ConTeXt beta (13.03). The source worked fine with older versions of pdfetex and ConTeXt releases. All it does is placing two external A4-PDF's on a single landscaped A4 page. As an unregistered (private) user of MikTeX it seems my mail to their support got lost... I included all necessary files and the log-file. Peter

Someone please give me a heads up....on the below \definieerpapierformaat [CONTEXT] [hoogte=27cm, breedte=36cm] \stelpapierformaatin [CONTEXT] [CONTEXT] This gives a document size of ( 14.17 x 6.3 in ) The 6.3in is the problem, it is not a full page If you are able to get a full page, please send me the test code... new version, new manuals, new files

Hi, I uploaded a new version (stable and beta are now the same). This version inclused a few patches/extensions discussed recently. There is quite some new support for side floats, column sets have become rather stable (a manual will follow soon). Although a lot of functionality is still 'my little secret' to be revealed when users request it, you can ready find some info in www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals.details.pdf so, this manual has now moved from temp. It has currently some 80+ pages, and will probably tripple in size over time. This manual provides you some info about how to apply the relatively new layer and related things. The idea is that this kind of detailed trickery and/or thinsg not related to structuring will be discussed in details.pdf, while the structuring ends up in the ref manual (i'll pick up that thread soon). I also updated www.pragma-ade.com/show-fil.pdf (made nicer, watch the new image archive), www.pragma-ade.com/show-man.pdf (more manuals, not all yet on the site but i need the file here and it gives you an idea of what is coming), www.pragma-ade.com/showcase.pdf Next in my list of manuals is finishing the correspondence manual (letters and envelops and alike), the pstopdf manual, and a few more. ConTeXt beta installation issue

I've been using Simon's installer script successfully of late to install betas, but just ran into the following error (see below). Any ideas or suggestions? fake columns

Hi: I'm playing with fake columns as described on page 9 of details.pdf . I've copied the example exactly, but the text doesn't show up. \showgrid lets me see the columns, but the text that I want set in the columns is not there. Any ideas? Thanks Matt
