Hallo, all, I wan't place a little figure right of paragraph in 2columns text. I use columnset. Index questions

I have some questions about the index (register) facility in ConTeXt. 1) I like that ConTeXt automatically breaks the index into portions by first letter, but how do I change the style of the subhead that says 'a', 'b', or whatever? Among other things, I would like these little subheads to be uppercase. 2) Sometimes a topic is referenced at two nearby places in the text. If these places fall on separate pages, I would like the index to mention both of them. If they fall on the same page, however, the index entry is duplicated. I expected texutil to remove duplicate index entries when sorting. Is it supposed to? (This is not a major problem; I can work around it.) 3) Likewise (this is a suggestion rather than a question) it would be nice if ConTeXt automatically transformed a sequence of 3 or more consecutive index entries (such as 10, 11, 12) into a page range (10-12). I realize there is a facility (\startindex...\stopindex) to get these page ranges manually, so again this is not a major issue. 4) If I have the command \seeindex{foo}{bar} and also \index{foo} on page 17, it would be nice if the index could say foo 17 see also bar rather than just "see bar". Is there a way to get this behavior? -- Miller Maley

fontsize in math

Hi Hans, I encountered an issue in fontsizing in math mode that I do not understand. Searched the manual but couldn't find (or missed) the clue. Using the green presentation style but changed to a somewhat larger fontsize by adding: \setupbodyfont[lbr, sans, 17.3pt] % lucidabright typesetting the following text: {abc$abc$abc} --- {\tfx abc$abc$abc} --- {\tfx abc}{$\tfx abc$}{\tfx abc} In the first the abc's have the same size. In the second the math part has kept its size, the other two are smaller. In the third the math part is now so small is doesn't match in size as it did in the first. I would have thought the math would vary in accordance with the \tfx. However, within $'s the font does not follow the outside \tfx, while inside a different size seems to be chosen. I am baffled. context + omega + tetex 2.0 : success story

hello all, after on-and-off effort, I finally get context + omega working. The result is impressive. hat off to hans and idris samawi for their effort. omega is a tex version that support utf-8 input. it can be used to typeset arabic. here are some of the things I discovers that might be useful to others; my system: context 2003.1.31 omega 1.23.2.1 tetex 2.0 1. using the command texexec --make --alone --tex=omega en fail. you need to recompile omega. get tetex-src-2.0.tar.gz. I am not a programmer, but know enough to hack bit and pieces. also, I cannot assure whether it safe or not. but, it works. do the usual ./configure and make stuff. I think you need to rename the new omega to avoid clash with the original omega. again, thanks to hans and idris. zamri

Description

Hi all, I want to have description placed in marging (location=inmargin) and I want to have description item text wider than width of margin. So the text must be formatted into paragraph. If I use \setupdescription[abc][text={Some long leading text: }] this leading text is typeset in paragraph. If I use \startabc{something after leading}...\stopabc the text "something after leading" does NOT become part of paragraph ans it is typeset in one box (hbox). How to get description title typeset in paragraph? Thanks, Martin
