db2context package - beta release

Dear ConTeXt users, I'm happy to be able to announce first beta release of db2context package. What is db2context? Db2context package transforms your SGML/XML DocBook documents to DVI, PostScript or PDF by translating them in ConTeXt as a first process using XSLT processor. Unlike DocBookInConteXt package which transform DocBook source document on-the-fly, db2context packages uses XSLT as a transformation language to convert DocBook source document into ConTeXt document which can be further customized using all the available ConTeXt commands. You can download the first beta release from the Sourceforge. (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dblatex) The author of the package is Nicolas Marsgui (marsgui(a)users.sourceforge.net) but since he is not subscribed to the ConTeXt mailing list you can also post your feedback and/or wishes to my email address. table page breaking

Is there support for automati<c page breaking for long tables in current ConTeXt (ver: 2003.3.4)? Simon and I noticed that long tables don't break automatically to the next page but nstead are simply cut at the end of the 'first' page. Hi: Is it possible to specify a value relative to a variable like \textwidth or \pageheight etc. For example, is there a way to get 1/3 of \textwidth? thanks Matthew

Displayed material, again

Hello list, I wish to bring the discussion again on displayed material. Display material is material that conceptually belongs to a paragraphs but typographically breaks it. After the display, the paragraph can continue or not. In ConTeXt, there are many things which should be considered displayed material: formulas, enumerations and other itemgroups, quotations, etc. Every start/stop pair that begins a new paragraph should actually be a displayed area. In ConTeXt, one can achieve such result by using [intentnext=yes] or [indentnext=no] on a case-by-case basis, depending on whether the start/stop pair is supposed to start a new paragraph or not. Of course, this "manual" way to do the thing goes against the general principle that the computer is supposed to do as much of the job as possible, by itself. Instead, the next paragraph will start with a quotation (display material at the beginning of the paragraph) and have some text after~it. \startdisplay \input knuth \stopdisplay is again a quote from Knuth. Different margins

Hi all, is it possible to give a different layout (different margins) for a small part of a page or pages (like a negative narrower)? I should set texts in narrow columns and pictures in wide columns on the same page. Greetings, Bence Nagy

PDF bookmark

Hi, all Excuse me if this is well known, but I couldn't find on the manual. I have several questions: 1. How to add an entry to the PDF bookmark? I tried placebookmarks[title,chapter,section] but it doesn't work. 2. How to add an entry in the list of contents if I use subject instead of section, and how to add this in the bookmark. I tried define a new list and changed the content compinedlist but nothing happened . 2. How to add a pair of '[' ']' around the number of footnotes? Thanks, Guo

Is this supposed to work?? I'm using ver: 2003.1.31 and try to do the following, right out of the handbook: \setupheads[alternative=inmargin] \subject{Some Text} and expected the subject to start in the margin. It does not, and I found out that this seems to work only for numbered heads like section et al. How do I put a subject in the margin, possibly while using a command to make it white on black (I can do that, only it's not in the margin....) alternative setting of comments

I was wondering if anyone who works with the verbatim environments has tried to set comments in a different style. It would be ideal to be able to set comments in \tf text font or some variant. I'm not really interested in colors at the moment. The immediate need is for working with a Pascal-like language, but I've been a bit baffled as to how to grab and process XML comments also (though I haven't look at that recently). Latex Fonts as per adobekb.tex

I have been forced to redo my font allocations because of Gerbens i-installer for MacOSX no longer seems to allow texfont to work. fontroot is not set correctly and then when I put in the correct setting the font subpaths are not found even though they are clearly there. Patrick has lead me to the delights of Latex Fonts via his script adobekb.tex which works well for most of my existing documents.
