The useful d-en-all.tex example shows buttons used for accessing Acrobat Reader functions and also for jumping to the Contents page. I would like to create a button that would jump to the back-of-book index. The info in the manual is a bit terse and I don't quite follow it. also, I read posts referring to a \button command. Typo in d-en-all.tex

I uncovered an ancient typo. Here is a text fragment from the above document: \ShowSample {001} {A simple document} \ShowSample {002} {Setting up the page} \ShowSample {003} {Using the margin} \ShowSample {004} {Adaptive headers and footers} \ShowSample {004} {Some bookmarks} The 004 file is called twice, and the 005 file is omitted. Sounds like a case for 007 :-) John Culleton

again inmargin problems

Dear gang, Thanks Bill for your reply on my previous mail concerning struggles with the inmargin texts. As you can see I explicitely set the width of the margins. In order to make things easier to see I attach a minimal test file. Does anybody see the clue, how to tell Context to use the full marginwidth? Cheers Willi

I'm sorry - could you explain this question?... ;) Parameters for commands I get from manual - I had a short script in php which made a code in javascript - that is a cause of many errors in these 'creators'... But the code is preparing to making help on each parameter and each value, but where can I find so detailed description ;) I'm realy new user in ConTeXt - about 2 months (no experience in any TeX system before) so you must forgive my inexperience ;) -- Best regards Martin

Hi, I am posting this message I posted to the 'OS X TeX' group earlier this year relating to the same issue that Mathew is raising. I had no luck then but am hoping for more success now there are two of us. Hans says 'this is under discussion now with thomas/staszek/etc: has to do with urw metrics not being in tetex by default (they are on tex live)' However, Gerben's i-Installer installs them here in a different location than normal. (I think these are the only pair of files that are necessary for utmb8a to work.) /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/fonts/afm/urw/times/utmb8a.afm /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/fonts/type1/urw/times/utmb8a.pfb I believe that the problem is merely with texroot as I state below. Further evidence for this is that it nearly all worked before Gerben rearranged the directories. Earlier message....... Hi, Some of my previous font problems here were due to not enabling all of the font map file in the final configuration of the install. I think someone else had the same problem. Adobekb.tex is now helping me well, however I am finding it necessary still to run with the Context font system for some documents for the moment, and for this texfont has to run to create the various font files. Running the single command texfont --en=8r --ve=urw --co=courier --so=auto Should work but returns processing aborted : unknown tex root /sw/share/texmf/ Clearly texroot is set incorrectly so forcing that texfont --en=8r --ve=urw --co=courier --so=auto --fontroot=/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/ Should work but returns processing aborted : unknown subpath ../fonts/afm/urw/courier And yet /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/fonts/afm/urw/courier/ucrb8a.afm Exists This process worked in the v2 version of the i-installer indeed still works when reinstalled. I am presuming that the new problem is because of the texmf.tetex that the texfont perl script is now not able to understand. Perl is beyond my small brain! Any help much appreciated -- Nigel

uncompatibility?

Hi all! I've installed TeX based on tl8 which is used paralely with based on tl7. Attached ZIP contains TeX code and two outputs with logs; tl7 and 8, which are quite different... There are some warnings in newer one (about doubled map entries) but shouldn't play a role here. Thanks for any hints! Regards, Pawe/l

Maybe one further element that would suggest Context is using a cached copy of the tfm-file instead of the newly created file: when I move the file Myfont.tfm out of the $home/texmf/fonts/tfm directory, pdftex gives me the expected error "! I can't find file `Myfont'." However, Context will still happily produce output--with an outdated copy of the tfm! So context must be caching it somewhere, and I need to flush that cache. Anyone an idea how this can be done? Thanks Thomas

TeX Live 2003 miseries.

I installed the latest version of TeXLive 2003 (the so-called demo version) and did the fmtutil and texhash bit. When I ran a job for a customer, texexec hung up at the point where a graphic was being loaded. So I went back to last year's texlive in a terrible hurry. That worked fine. Earlier, when TeXLive 2003 was still in beta they left out texexec altogether. Has anyone else tried Context using graphics on TeXLive 2003? I hate to report a bug to Tug if my experience is unique.
