Nightmare after upgrading

Hello Hans, run into trouble again... yesterday I've upgraded MikTeX to 2.4, by the way I've upgraded ConTeXt to the newest version too, but after that I can texexec nothing more. I've never thought it could be such a big problem. after several unsuccessful tries I decided to restored the old version, but I even couldn't go back! it seems that context has kept "memory" somewhere to trace the version changes. after 3 hours tired struggle I've lost all the patience and all the hope... I've also heared similar stories from other people, but I just wonder how it could be a trouble to upgrade a package like context? Best regards, Minchao

Very tasteful new look, I like the colors (except for the "links" page, the mauve doesn't go very well with the rest). One has to get used to the idea that a website is presented like a pdf document in sequential order, but the clean look is quite beautiful. Of course, I was impatient and downloaded the latest version, and now I get a couple errors when processing, but I hope can straighten that out. Congratulations, Hans, wonderful work! Best Thomas

Hi, there is an additional space in the end of the line 653 in supp-mps.tex (latest alpha): \immediate\write\MPwrite{verbatimtex \MPinputtranslation etex ;} It causes e.g. wrong left bbox border in --------------------- \startuseMPgraphic{c} draw fullsquare scaled 2cm; \stopuseMPgraphic \startTEXpage \useMPgraphic{c} \stopTEXpage ---------------------- Vit Zyka (I sent it to the dev-context list in 19.9. but with no success.)

Entities names instead of characters in header texts

Hello, I am having problems with setting up header texts based on source xml utf-8 coded. When I use: \useXMLfilter [utf] \defineXMLargument [imie-i-nazwisko] \title \setupheadertexts[title] I get the title right, e.g.: Maria Giżbert whereas the header text is: Maria Gi"zdotaccent b ert I attach the necessary files (without graphic files of course). first element in radio field

This is my first attempt with fields, so I am not sure if this is a bug in context or my fault :) Anyway, the first element of my radio field is indented, while the following elements are ok. This is the case in horizontal and vertical arrangment. I added a minimal example... thanks a lot Hans, now it works perfect! maybe later you can write a script to make the installation and configuration automatic? ConTeXt is great, but sometimes it's a little boring to make it working properly. setup of headers

Hi, found an old thread in the list archives, Adam Warner and Hans, but there was no real conclusion. Can this be done in ConTeXt? I want the following setup for my headers: mirror doublesided, on the even pages pagenumber leftaligned, chaptertitle midaligned; odd pages sectiontitle midaligned, pagenumber rightaligned; like so: 9______chapter______ || ______section______10 If I am not completely mistaken, setupheadertexts takes either one argument (identical header fo all pages, midaligned) or two (identical header for all pages, rightaligned/leftaligned) or four (mirroring even/odd headers, rightaligned/leftaligned). I think what we need here would be for \setupheadertexts to accept SIX arguments: \setupheadertexts[even left][even middle][even right][odd left][odd middle][odd right] Or is there another way to do this, and I'm just too stupid to see it? strange behavior of MetaFun

Hi, recently I've installed ConTeXt and after all the complicated configurations I could finally write my first chinese text, but as I tried MetaFun today, I got very strange error message: I tried to compile the trivial sample on the first page of "metafun-p.pdf": \starttext \startuseMPgraphic{dummy} fill fullcircle scaled 5cm withcolor red ; \stopuseMPgraphic \useMPgraphic{dummy} \stoptext I invoked "texexec test", after some messages scrolled by it stopped and show: !Equation cannot be performed (numeric=boolean) local_multi_par_area:=false; I traced to that line in the file "test-mpgraph.mp" which has been produced by texexec in the first step and I simply deleted it, then I ran "mpost test-mpgraph" manually and got "test-mpgraph.1" without any problem, but as I viewed it with GSview there was only a quarter of disc, which should be a 5cm filled circle. I've also tried with other Metapost files but got always the same result: that line will always be added to the intermedia file. I think it's not because of a wrong configuration of ConTeXt but something "deep inside". btw.
