Skrinking distance between bullet and text in itemize

I’d like to have the bullet appear closer to the text being itemized inside a \startitemize. I changed the symbol being used to a \cdot and now the text appears to far away from the bullet itself. Is there a way to fix this? I figured that altering distance, width, and/or factor would have some effect, but albeit it remains unchanged. The bullet also appears inmargin, if that’s important. how to use caption with TABLE?

How does one use a caption with TABLE when making the table split across pages? I know how to create a multi-paged table: \bTABLE[split=repeat] % create the head \bTABLEhead \bTR \bTD State \eTD \bTD 3-year average(2001-2003) \eTD \bTD 2-year average(2001-2002) \eTD \eTR \eTABLEhead % create the body \bTABLEbody \bTR \bTD Alabama \eTD \bTD 13.3 \eTD \bTD 13.5 \eTD \eTR But not how to put a caption on each page. Preferably, the caption should be different for the first and for the rest of the pages. For the first page, it should be "Title" and for subsequent pages it should be "Title (continued)". If it is not possible to have different captions for each pages, I can still hack the code so it will work by making two different tables. Hello, I've just read Taco's comment on the new feature-requests-page on the wiki, and I wonder how it's done in LaTeX. Isn't there a possibility to use ec-encoding for the main-font, and for some exceptions such as \textmu another encoding? I wrote the arrow parts of vector 033 as well. Works OK. Comments welcome. I'd personally enjoy both being included in ConTeXt at some point. How do Windows users call texexec etc.

I have been using Linux since the days of Win 3.1. So I don't know what goes on in the MSWin world any more. Specifically I am writing a guide for typesetting beginners. What should I tell them is a good way to execute e.g., texexec from a Windows environment? Many of them are afraid of the command line. My instinct is to describe a Vim command such as :!texexec % or just give them a script to do that, but there may be a better alternative. Thoughts? -- John Culleton
