I have \start/\stopcombinations where the elements in a row have different heights, and the combinations bottom-align them. Is there a way to top-align them? -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

Complex layout question

Hi all, I have a LARGE (we're talking about the hundred scale) number of floats I would like to distribute across a document. These are paired (a table and a figure). The layout that results from coupling them side by side doesn't satisfy me, so I was looking for a different approach. I would like them to be distributed across the pages by placing the tables at the top left and the figure at the bottom right, text flowing around them. Since there is a very large number of floats, I would like this placement to be automatic: "From now on, do this until you run out of text/floats" I already did something like the following \newcount\curvenum \global\curvenum=1 \def\newpar{ \oldpar \glet\par\oldpar \input tests/curves-\the\curvenum.tex \global\advance\curvenum1 \ifnum\curvenum<8\let\par\newpar\fi } \let\oldpar\par \let\par\newpar to "delay-load" floats, since loading them all at once fills up the main memory. startlines space width

I am having problems with startlines. I'm using space=yes to preserve space characters. This works fine with default ConTeXt lm/cm font. When I use a font I've imported, however, the spaces aren't quite wide enough. I can fix that with \def\normalspace{\char32}, but then I have problems with embedded floats. What do I need to fix so that the default \def\normalspace{ } has the correct width for the current font? Cobby, In amsmath, there is \begin{smallmatrix} \end{smallmatrix} Don't know how in Context. I'll find out. Does anyone on the context list know how to do this? Switching to smaller font more thoroughly

For a particular table, I need to switch to a smaller body font. Currently I'm using {\tfxx \placetable etc \par} but this way the math in the table doesn't get switched. Is there a way to make a more thorough switch? I tried \switchtobodyfont but it didn't work ... -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

Strange ... this simple document \starttext \startformula a^2+b^2 = 1 \stopformula \stoptext says the formula had to be deleted for lack of symbol fonts ... do I have a flaky installation? -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

[MathML] other seperator then '+'

Hi, how can i change the '+' into '*'? What i mean is when i write this: --- \enableregime[il1]% choose input encoding: il1 is "ISO Latin 1" (ISO 8859-1), same as "win" \mainlanguage[de] % language mode: changes typesetting rules, quote signs etc. \setuppapersize [A4][A4] \setupcolors[state=start] \usemodule[newmat] \usemodule[mathml] \setupMMLappearance[sign][reduction=no] \setupMMLappearance[function][reduction=no] \setupMMLappearance[power][reduction=no] %%\setupMMLappearance[relation][aligen=first] \starttext \startXMLdata <math> <apply> <in/> <cn type="complex"> 2 <sep/> 5 </cn> <complexes/> </apply> </math> \stopXMLdata \stoptext --- I get: 2 + 5i C but what i need is: j * omega || with '<times/>' I'am very new with context sorry i this is a 'trivial' question. free keycaps font

As far as I can tell, ConTeXt doesn't include a keycaps font. I recently created my own and would like to share it with anyone else that might find it useful. I've included a sample document with it.
