But typesetting \starttext \usetypescript[luc][texnansi]\setupbodyfont[luc,10pt]\lucidatrue {$\bfmath\sqrt{a^2 + b^2} = c + \mf\sin{}x\quad {\ma NZRC}$}\crlf \stoptext Gives me LucidaBright-Demi instead of LucidaNewMath-AltDemiItalic. Everything else however (even the blackletters from ma) are in the correct bold math font. The font must be present, because substituting MathItalicBold for MathItalic in the [math] script proves that. It seems that mibf has not been substituted, but instead used the mr typeface. Could this be a flaw in the (bold)math handling? For example a wrong fam chosen in the font switch? It seems weird that everything behaves neat except for the bold math italic. Hans van der Meer

alignment in cells without "alignmentcharacter"

Hello, (A question for a coffee break for Hans or Taco while updating macros for tables, although it may already be implemented somewhere.) I have a table with one column for room names with an optional slash (see below). The case is equivalent to aligning floating-point & natural numbers (without comma) in the same column. I aligned the entries with alignmentcharacter=/, which works perfect except in the cases where there's no slash present (the real example did an even worse, extremely strange alignment, where those numbers were sticking out of the cells, but I'll investigate that a bit & post an example another time). % plain text aligned in the same way as I would like it to have in the result \setupTABLE[c][1][aligncharacter=yes,alignmentcharacter=/,width=3cm,align=middle] \bTABLE \bTR\bTD 01/1 \eTD\eTR \bTR\bTD 02/13 \eTD\eTR \bTR\bTD 03 \eTD\eTR \bTR\bTD 314/2 \eTD\eTR \bTR\bTD 315 \eTD\eTR \eTABLE Is there an elegant way which would align those numbers as if they had an additional slash on the right? I was thinking about placing a transparent slash behind those number, but there may be a a cleaner & more elegant solution for it. If not, it could be done approximately in the spirit of alignifnoalignmentcharacterpresent= absoluteflushleft / % according to the cell absoluteflushright / % according to the cell middle / relativeflushleft / % according to the aligned content % since remaining numbers may be aligned to the right or to the middle, % this would align just as left as the leftmost number with alignment character relativeflushright / leftofthealignmentcharacter / % I only need this one rightofthealignmentcharacter . Not resetting chapter number on new part

I would like the chapters across all my bodymatter to be numbered sequentially, even when they cross the part boundary. I.e, if I have \part{A part} \chapter{A chapter} \part{Another part} \chapter{Another chapter} I would like the latter to be numbered 2, not 1. I can of course do this by hacking \part, but I would like to know if there is a way to prevent number reset (something like resetchapter=no). -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

Hans, many thanks for the recent fixes on index sorting in the new ruby scripts. Can I offer another test file in which some errors still show up, in the hope that these too can be ironed out? The following shows two problems, culled from a much bigger project. It should be clear from the output what the problems are, but basically 1. there are three separate spans (\startregister...\stopregister pairs) with the same term content ("these three separate spans coalesce") which get coalesced into one strange a-b-c-d span, despite having been given different sort keys (I added numbers to the end of the sort keys to differentiate them). 2. there are three refs and a span all with the same term content ("these mixed refs and spans are in the wrong order"), and they get sorted into the wrong order in the output (the span comes before the refs, despite coming after in page order). So in my output, my index page at the back has the following content: these mixed refs and spans are in the wrong order 1/12–1/13, 1/2, 1/10, 1/14 these three separate spans coalesce 1/1–1/2–1/5–1/7 whereas what I'd hope to see is: these mixed refs and spans are in the wrong order 1/2, 1/10, 1/12–1/13, 1/14 these three separate spans coalesce 1/1–1/2, 1/3–1/5, 1/6–1/7 Really hope you can hammer out these two bugs, it would really help me! TeXexec and MikTeX

Greetings I have been trying to set up ConTeXt in Windows XP using MikTeX. I have been running LaTeX2e through TeXnic center fine. On the basis of the TeXexec manual, I ran "texexec --make en" I attempted to build a small file test.tex by running "texexec --pdf test" from the directory in which the file is located. It said that the default format file could not be found. I tried increasing the 'pattern memory ops' in the miktex.ini config file as you suggested to another TeXer; nothing happened. The following message occurs in the log: ...
