All, thought we had a good strategy for defining our own counter, but we don't have references now. !?!? -what's up?

Hi. I can't find a more clever subject. Sorry. I typeset two days a LaTex file for academic research using TeXShop. Now, two days later without using again ConTeXT, it seems I'm not able to use it anymore. No output at all. No pdf. So, I updated via Gerben's i-installer to ConTeXt stable and I have this, which is what I obtained before updating plus the last warning line. I tried with many files and that's the same. This is the minimal one \starttext test \stoptext It gives the following TeXExec 5.4.3 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005 fixing engine variable : pdfetex executable : pdfetex format : cont-en inputfile : testpdftex output : pdftex interface : en current mode : none TeX run : 1 This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.30.4-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.5) (/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.local/web2c/natural.tcx) entering extended mode (./testpdftex.tex return code : 11 run time : 4 seconds total run time : 6 seconds warning : use 'texmfstart texexec' instead I guess it's a question of TeXShop preferences, but I really don't know. Linux upgrade

I have been working with two versions of TeX, neither one of which is new enough to accomodate all the latest Context bells and whistles. I tried downloading context.zip and installing it on my standard /usr/share/texmf tree. No joy. I get messages telling me to use the texmfstart command instead. This is as I recall a Windows thingie. So next I tried linux binaries only. Still no joy. Let me start all over. Assuming a working TeX installation (either tetex or texlive 2005) what incantation must I perform to upgrade to the latest stable Context and what specific zip file should I use? conversion and formulas

Hi, I have a presentation in which only a few numbered formulas so I wanted to number them as (*) (**) etc. The only way I could get that to work was \setupnumber[formula][conversion=set 1] The natural \setupformulas[conversion=set 1] does not work Why isn't conversion inherited from \setupformulas? Left justify numbers on left margin edge

All, Why is it I cannot get my numbers to abut up against the left margin edge? What to do with math-ext.tex

All, I have a file in my document directory called math-ext.tex. Isn't this part of the core now? Can I get rid of it? definetypeface vs math symbols

Hi all, what is the correct way to use another font in context? We use definetypeface and setupbodyfont (without really knowing what's going on...just copied from some example we found). When I uncomment the font statements in the following example, the Sigma symbol becomes a little circle and the the bar is rendered through z not above it? All, How do you get two enumerations to use a common counter?
