Hi all, Not even 40 hours into the new year, there is already a new ConTeXt release available for download from htp://www.pragma-ade.com . Bugfixes: * re-enable norwegian hyphenation patterns * footnote referencing fix * fix use of prime and underscore in math displays (that was already in 2006.12.27) New feature: * Use the low-level support for ToUnicode mapping in the (likewise brand new) pdftex 1.40, if possible. Image logo showing up with white background

Hello folks, I am using an image to embed the logo at the top of the document. The background of my document is gray, and when I render the document, the logo shows up with a white background, over the gray background. Something similar to the \frame command. My logo image was converted from PSD (Photoshop PSD) to PDF, and I have preserved the tranparent background so that I could layer it over a background and it picks the background color instead of the white background. How do I embed my image in the document so that the background stays the background color of the document? wiki: linux installation updates

I updated the Linux installation pages on the wiki, mostly the Debian one, but also the tetex 3.0 page and I added a short entry for Ubuntu 6.10 (edgy). The Debian page now describes how to install using Norbert's context packages. It describes a system-wide install based on those and the texlive packages. Let me know if you find errors or problems (or just correct the errors on the page). \externalcommand?

I think there's something in ConTeXt called \externalcommand. Can this be used to hand over a section of source text for processing by an external program during the ConTeXt-ing of a document? How does it work, exactly? thanks again for help...

HZ with latest ConTeXt

dvipos outputs scaled points, which confuses context

To stress-test things and because xdvi renders crisper text than any pdf viewer, I just tried 'texexec --dvi --nobackend notes'. It failed with: (/usr/share/texmf/tex/context/base/sort-lan.tex) (./notes.tuo ! Illegal unit of measure (pt inserted). <to be read again> - \pospxywhd ...fnum \positionanchormode =\plusone - \MPx \pageanchor \fi ... l.193 ...952663}{8880535}{334}{6216377}{134561832} The offending line in notes.tuo is: \pospxywhd{text:33}{33}{10952663}{8880535}{334}{6216377}{134561832} texexec works fine in PDF mode, where that line in the notes.tuo file is \pospxywhd{text:33}{33}{167.12437pt}{135.50621pt}{334.24875pt}{523.95755pt}{0.0pt} And 167.12437pt = 10952663sp. So dvipos (Version 20030628 (KPATHSEA)) is outputting the locations in scaled points (sp), but the results are being interpreted as printers points (pt), whereupon the dimension is absurdly large.
