Hi, I wand to write a macro, that handles both [] and {} as optional arguments. For example, I have a command with three optionl arguments [#1][#2]#3 I want \command to give #1=\empty, #2 = \empty, #3 = \empty \command [1] to give #1=1, #2 empty, #3 empty, \command [1] {3} to give #1=1, #2 empty, #3 = 3 \command [1] [2] {3} to give #1=1, #2=2, #3=3 \command {3} to give #1=empty, #2=empty, #3=3. I tried the following macro, it works except for \command[1][2]{3}. \def\finalcommand[#1][#2]#3% {1 :-> (#1), 2 :-> (#2), 3 :-> (#3)} \def\command% {\dodoubleempty\docommand} \def\docommand[#1][#2]% {\dodoublegroupempty{\finalcommand[#1][#2]}} \starttext \command \command [1] \command [1] {3} \command [1] [2] {3} \command {3} \stoptext which gives 1 :-> (), 2 :-> (), 3 :-> () 1 :-> (1), 2 :-> (), 3 :-> () 1 :-> (1), 2 :-> (), 3 :-> (3) 1 :-> (1), 2 :-> (2), 3 :-> () 3 <--------- This does not work 1 :-> (), 2 :-> (), 3 :-> (3) Can someone suggest a better way to do this? Footnotes lost in Natural Tables

Hi, once again I ran into a dead-end where I never dreamt it could be a problem: using footnotes in tables. For my current project I have to use 16 tables, spread over the whole text (about 400 pages). Some of these tables also need footnotes (sometimes quite large). But they should be numbered and placed within the regular footnotes at the end of the page. Trying the minimal below I saw the table's footnotes got lost: \starttext First paragraph\footnote{One}. \bTABLE \bTR \bTD Cell\footnote{Two} \eTD \bTD Cell\footnote{Three} \eTD \eTR \eTABLE Next paragraph\footnote{Four}. \stoptext As I have to weave 31 footnotes in these 16 tables I hope I don't need to place fake notes by hand, do I? Listing part in TOC

Currently parts are listed in the TOC as: Part 1 foo 1-5 What I want on the right hand side is just the page number. Part 1 foo 5 Also I want the chapters to be numbered squentially without regard to part. Ditto numbering of pages.
