Hi, In core-rul.tex we have %D We define the general (and original) case by just saying: \defineframedtext[\v!framedtext] This gives strange user behavior. Consider the following \defineframedtext[test][width=broad] \showframe \starttext \starttest \input tufte \stoptest \startframedtext[test] \input tufte \stopframedtext \stoptext The two framedtext have different widths. Why not say \def\startframedtext {\dosingleempty\dostartframedtext} \def\stopframedtext{\dostopframedtext} Aditya

Adobe Reader, PNG transparency and colors

Hallo you all. I found a strange problem. I create my slides with ConTeXt. Everything was all right before I included pictures in PNG with transparent background. Adobe Reader 8.1.2 under Linux (at least this one) changes colors on every page where such a PNG is included. Xpdf shows it all right. I wonder what could be the reason, and how to solve it. Can you hint me? You can see the behavior here: http://www.econ.muni.cz/~qasar/vyuka/inst/inst-slide01.pdf Notice difference in colors between the 2nd and 3rd page (the 3rd one includes PNG). PNG are created with Gimp. My ConTeXt is ver: 2008.01.28 21:28 MKII pdfTeX is 3.141592-1.40.3 (Web2C 7.5.6) TeXExec is version 6.2.0 All under openSuSE Linux 10.3. When I start TeXExec, I got this warning: /usr/bin/texmfstart:1838: warning: Insecure world writable dir /home/qasar/bin in PATH, mode 040777 /usr/share/texmf/scripts/context/ruby/base/system.rb:16: warning: Insecure world writable dir /home/qasar/bin in PATH, mode 040777 But I guess it has nothing to do with the color problem. crash with \attributedbox

Hi, I updated my binaries today (minimals) and got some crashes using luatex v0.22. No probs with the prior version. I was able to make a minimal example by simplifying my original code. The attached log output is taken from my eshell buffer inside emacs, as the original log file is empty due to the crash. However, there is a difference between latex and context color usage, that gives rise to the error. The culprit in this case is: {$\displaystyle \tan \alpha \color{black}= \frac{{\color[red]\sin \alpha}}{{\color[blue]\cos \alpha}}$} Try this in a standalong context file (no pgf) and you will get an error. First you need to change \color{black} to \color[black]. Even then you will get an error. You need to use {$\displaystyle \tan \alpha {\color[black]= \frac{{\color[red]\sin \alpha}}{{\color[blue]\cos \alpha}}}$} (Notice the {...} around \color[black]). Then everything works fine. Bug? Cross referencing and \setuparranging

Hi, There seems to be a bug with the current ConTeXt (2008.01.28). When using \setuparranging (I've tried more than one setup), cross-referencing doesn't work. You get ?? instead of whatever number you should get. It happens to me with this simple dummy document: \setuppapersize[A5][A3] \setuparranging[2UP,doublesided] \starttext \chapter[chap1]{Chapter One} \dorecurse{4}{\input knuth \par} \chapter[chap2]{Chapter Two} \dorecurse{4}{\input knuth \par} \chapter[chap3]{Chapter Three} In chapter \in[chap1] of this document, there was something to read. \stoptext If you comment out the \setuparranging command, the \in command will work. If you don't, the log shows the following: chapter : 3 Chapter Three references : unknown reference [][chap1] This looks like a bug? Jeff

Ahoi, just tried to update via ctxtools, but making formats stops at Greek hyphenation patterns: (/usr/local/texlive/2007/../texmf-local/tex/context/patterns/lang- agr.pat ! Nonletter. l.234 ᾿ 2ρ1῾2ρ If I press "r" to continue I get a long list of more Greek "nonletters". Is that caused by the known LM change? Greetlings from Lake Constance! trouble with indices

I've noticed that with the most recent ConTeXt release I'm unable to make indices. This example fails: \starttext Hello, this \index{copula}is an index. \completeindex \stoptext The error I get is: chapter : 1 \headtext {index} ! Extra }, or forgotten \endgroup. \stoppacked ->\par \ifvmode \egroup \ifdim \lastskip =\noparskipsignal \rela... \doutilities ...protectutilities \unprotect \fi #4 \the \everybeforeutilityre... \doplaceregister ...ster \stoppacked \stopcolumns \endgroup \fi \docompleteregister ...ter [\currentregister ][#2] \page [\v!yes ]\endgroup \fi <to be read again> \par l.6 ? The error arises both with pdftex or xetex. I think that some recent change must be responsible for this, because I didn't notice any problems with indices, say, a couple months ago. Due to some fairly unique customer requirements for bibliography, we're using the simple bibliography discussed in the wiki (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Simple_Bibliography) While this approach gives us more flexibility, I'm having trouble with a couple of things... 1) The code below wraps the reference number in brackets. How would I make the reference number superscript (like an endnote)? 2) The references in the text are numbered in the order the bibitems are defined in the bibliography, not the order on which they are cited in the text. How would I order them according to the order in which they occur in the text? Minimal size of page

Hi all, I want to make a dvi output of one or more math formulas, on a page of minimal size, ie the size of the formula; I had asked the same thing for a metapost/fun graphic sometime ago, the answer had been: \startMPpage ... \stopMPpage but I guess I can't use that here! tia, -- Jean
