unusual behavior for ``

Hi I'm using minimals. always input with \enbleregime[utf] Now, I was used to input ``and '' to obtain apices. Now, the second is rendered fine, the first remains `` e.g. ``l'ambiente dei suoni'' is rendered as in the pdf attached) why? what have I to do? LuaTeX problems

ConTeXt minimals is up and running but I have problems with LuaTeX. First the files I assume to be important: % Project \startproject atkmom \environment environ \product book \stopproject % Product \startproduct book \project atkmom \component images \startfrontmatter \environment fmatter \completecontent \stopfrontmatter \startbodymatter \environment body \component intro \component osbasics \component files \component opera \stopbodymatter \startbackmatter \completeindex[title=Hakemisto] \stopbackmatter \stopproduct With "texexec" my project results in proper .pdf file except the additional empty page at the end of it. With "context" the process ends after line "\product book" (I get a proper notice about the end of product book) in project file and i get the "*" prompt. It seems like LuaTeX can't see the "\stopproject" at all and thinks that the file has unexpectedly ended. Also with context I get messages that every \at, \in and \about that refers to something in component other than the one they're in is an unknown reference. They all work fine with texexec. Any idea what's wrong?

screen sizes

Hi, >From what I understand from the ConTeXt manual, the S3-S6 screen sizes relate to the physical screen dimensions, more precisely the display area width and height. However, the only information I find when searching for the most common screen sizes relates to the screen resolution and/or the screen diagonal size. Any idea where to find reliable data about the most common screen (physical) sizes ? Alan

How texexec --pdfsplit somefile.pdf works? I'm trying to split my booklet [A5][A4,landscape], texexec runs but I get only the last page in texexec.pdf. Cheers -- Diego Depaoli

ConTeXt, Framemaker, and InDesign

Dear gang, There has been some discussion on the list lately comparing ConTeXt with InDesign. Are there any Framemaker users on the list? I'm interested in comparisons between ConTeXt and Framemaker, with cross-comparisons with InDesign as appropriate. What does ConTeXt have that Framemaker does not? What does Framemaker have that ConTeXt does not? (svg integration comes to mind -- there's been some svg discussion here the last couple of days). From what I know of Framemaker -- structured processing etc, it seems that would be a more a~propos comparison with ConTeXt than InDesign. Eventually I would like to establish a wiki page with detailed and accurate comparisons between ConTeXt, InDesign, Framemaker, and perhaps other DTP applications as well. I even plan to get my hands on the "competition" so I can get more 1st hands knowledge for my own edification. How to set up bookman font.

After all these years font handling in Context still eludes me. I want to use Bookman font and all its variants. Here is what I have: \usetypescriptfile[type-syn] \usetypescript[bookman] \setupbodyfont[bookman,12bp] But I still get a default font. OpenType cursive attachments

Enabling "curs" font feature doesn't seem to enable it, in the attached example I enabled "curs" for the first line and disabled it for the second one, but it doesn't seem to get applied (the same output in the 2 lines). nbsp U+00A0 don’t work

Hello, As you can see in my signature, I had remap my french keyboard layout according to dvorak rules. I have the nbsp (U+00A0) on Shift+Space because we use it a lot in french (all the symbols who needs it are on Shift too). I discover today that context don't seem to recognise it : I found a « ; » alone at the beginning of a line. Context deal with the nbsp when it's the « ~ », but with the U+00A0, not. The symbol is here, my vim highlight it. I tried with and without \setcharacterspacing [frenchpunctuation] with no effect. I use context --version : MtxRun | main context file: /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/base/context.tex MtxRun | current version: 2008.06.11 22:25 Speaking about french punctuation, I remember that Arthur Reutenauer speaks about rules he wrote for frenchpunctuation, can we make a wiki page with all that rules ? Hi, re: http://context.aanhet.net/svn/manuals/context/ I've downloaded all files from the above directory to a separate folder on my PC and am trying to compile the screen version of the english context manual with texmfstart texexec --pdf --mode=screen cont-en.tex Is that the correct command ? I'm receiving compile errors (log file in attachement).
