Arabic script bug in MKIV

Hi everyone At last I could install minimal context to use the latest luatex (0.30.1) with latest cont-tmf release. Thanks. I don't know if the following is a luatex or Context bug. Sorry if here is not the right place to report this. After compiling the following lines I faced two problems in the output. 1- In the first line words get mixed. 2- In the second line only 456 appeared but it should be 0123456789. The second problem occurs for the specific font that I have used and I can resolve it by using another font. The problem is that in the font, the character ۱ for example is assigned to two unicode characters, one for U+0661 (arabic digit one) and also for U+06F1 (farsi digit one). But MKIV doesn't know this approach. In fact, only digits 4,5, and 6 are different in farsi and arabic so they appeared in the output correctly. XeTeX knows this kind of character assignment. height of balanced columnset?

Hi all, Is there a way to get the value of the height of a columnset after it is balanced? I'm looking for some sort of "\columnsetheight" that I can reuse as height=\columnsetheight in a \framed command in a layer. Hope this makes sense, or is the content of a layer supposed to be static? I compiled LuaTeX #1563 and used it instead one in new beta. Now new beta can works. In addition, I'm very sorry that my email always break away from thread because I have no idea how to use the maillist. I will solve it lately. -- Best wishes, Li Yanrui

rule=on in \columnset?

Hi all, Maybe I miss something, but it looks there is no rule=on command for use in columnsets? I just want a vertical line between the columns in my columnset, how do I get that? Thanks, Jelle

luatex fails

I did a complete reinstall for texlive2008 (just out of the box installation) including fresh generation of context and luatex. Of course doing luatools --generate etc. Now luatex doesn't work anymmore. Why? fallbacks for characters

Hi all, the answer to this one may be completely obvious, but I haven't found anything: I know we can define fallback fonts in mkiv, but is it possible to define fallbacks for single characters. Let's take 0x0113, "emacron." Is it possible to define "if character is present in current font, use it; else \buildtextaccent\macron e" ? Thomas

metapost behaving different

Drawing with a square pen gives better rectangles My metapost code is something like: pickup square pen draw rectangle with label within (macro call) label drawing within the rectangle is essentially done with % prevent wobbling of text boxes with uneven depth pic := textext("\setbox0=\hbox{"&labeltext&"}\dp0=0pt\box0"); % pic goes into rectangle Under mkii this worked but under mkiv the text is mangled. To restore proper text I had to surround this with pen commands: pentemp := savepen; pickup pencircle scaled 0pt; % apparently any size will do % prevent wobbling of text boxes with uneven depth pic := textext("\setbox0=\hbox{"&labeltext&"}\dp0=0pt\box0"); % pic goes into rectangle pickup pentemp; Why is mkii behaving differently and not affected by pen changes? Is this to be expected from metapost (and thus to be considered normal behaviour) or did a bug creep in? Using luatex 0.30.1 and 2008.08.05 18:47 MKIV. Running Mark IV / luatex: unknown script: context

Hi, Hello everybody, I'm new here. I just subscribed because I'm trying to use LuaTeX / ConTeX Mark IV and i have some problems with it. I'm running TeXlive 2008 installed from ArchLinux and I can't run 'context' from the command line.
