ConTeXt to XML or HTML

Hello all, I have been looking for a way to convert from ConTeXt to HTML. I asked for God Google and also I have visited http://wiki.contextgarden.net, and read many times almost all articles. Maybe, I have not undestood the process very well. I could not figure out how to make such conversion yet. I saw many different forms of converting XML to ConTeXt, but I did not see nothing from typing in ConTeXt syntax and get a XML output file. The only program I have noticed that do that is tex4ht. This programs bases its conversion in both .tex and .dvi files. The result is not so exact as the desired. Is there another way to do that? Regards, Betoes

Hi, (1) --mode=modelist (1.1) Is there a limit to the number of modes in modelist ? (1.2) Is there a way to call the modelist and submit it to conditional testing within ConTeXt ? For example, to lookup (true/false) the presence of modes containing/starting with (an) alphannumeric string(s) ? (2) --modefile=file (2.1) What's the syntax of a modefile ? (2.2) How does ConTeXt handle a modefile ? figure placement

Hi again, I try to get a picture on a page using \externalfigure[name.pdf][width=\textwidth] The image is pushed to the next page, even though there is no text on the current page and the height of the image itself is smaller then \textheight, so it should fit. How do I force image placement *here*? Thanks again, Jelle

Hello, I'm forwarding the author's answer back to the mailing list. If anyone has some nice idea about possible solutions, let us/him know ... I don't remember how I was solving such problems so far, but I know that I have always been missing: % maybe even some external file with extremely long code \starttikzpicture{picture name} ... \stoptikzpicture \placefigure{some figure}{\usetikzpicture{picture name}} If that was implemented, maybe \usetikzpicture could be inside an hbox? passing buffer to lua functions

Dear all, I'm trying to implement a very simple filter mechanism in lua like this: \def\test#1{% \startlua local pipe, str pipe = io.popen("./my_filter '\luaescapestring{#1}'", "r") str = pipe:read("*a") tex.print(str) pipe:close() \stoplua } \test{% line 1 line 2 } The issue I have is that the argument of test has its line breaks removed in the process (i.e. the filter my_filter sees a single line argument). How to prevent this while keeping the lua escape at the same time? (I know I can implement such a thing with executecommand and using buffers written to files, but I would like to avoid writing on the hard disk.) Olivier

Hi minimalists, is there a reason why luatex in linux is still at version 0.28.0-2008071500? On OS X, I now have 0.29.0-2008072211, and this seems the latest version on supelec as well. All best Thomas

Texlive2008 and updating context

Hi everyone, I have followed any thread about updating context (on Texlive2008 on ubuntu) and no success yet. After running sudo ctxtools --updatecontext and luatools --generate everything went smooth. But after texexec --make --luatex en I got the following Should I create the cache path /home/mehdi? [yes|no] [no] and after pressing Enter I got fatal error: there is no valid (writable) cache path defined LuaTools | LuaTools | runtime: 69.494 seconds TeXExec | no lua compilations needed TeXExec | TeXExec | tex engine path: /home/mehdi/.texlive2008/texmf-config/web2c/luatex TeXExec | TeXExec | TeXExec | runtime: 70.993183 Thanks.

Anyone wants [another] "I love ConTeXt" T-shirt?

Dear ConTeXt fans, I'm goint to buy another bunch of T-shirts tomorrow and we will reprint them with "I love ConTeXt", in another (hopefully better) printing technique*. If anyone wants [another] T-shirt (or long sleeves) in whatever color that's available in the shop (dark works best), please let me know the size(s) and color(s). [Two tiny photo samples attached.] I'll send them out once in November for 6 EUR + shippment costs (or I can bring them to some conference, like DANTE meeting in Vienna or BachoTeX or ...). Hopefully I'll have the DVDs with videos ready by then as well, so that I will be able to send DVDs to anyone interested in the same package. Thanks to everyone, Mojca ----- * When we were printing T-shirts for the ConTeXt conference, the printshop has promissed screenprinting and due to most-people-were-on-holidays did digital transfers without elastane, so they will reprint us T-shirts on their costs (we still need to buy T-shirts though). I'm sorry for the bad quality, but exchanging them all would be somehow impractical. To sum up: if anyone wants a better quality or simply another T-shirt in any color, let me know ASAP.
