calling a function with complex parameters

Dear All, I need to fill a lua table with data, and some values may be tables. How to supply that data from ConTeXt? The most straightforward way is to make user fill a string with lua code of table initiaiser and then use "loadstring". In this case the syntax is laconic, but resilence in case of errors is zero. The other way is to have the user to call series of functions, building the complex structure from ground up by making basic stuctures and adding them to final structure one by one. In this case the passed parameters can be scrutinized for correctness, but multiple calls like "addsmthtosmth", "setsmthinsmth" will make the result uneasy to read, to say nothing of writing. What is considered kosher in ConTeXt? Where can I found examples? can not include movie

Dear All, ConTeXt user manual says movies are just like figures, but when I process \starttext \placefigure[here]{none}{\externalfigure[demo.mov][width=0.7\textwidth, height=.7\textwidth, label=demo, preview=yes]} \stoptext with context filename.tex using the latest minimals without any custom settings I do not get movie included. What can be wrong? I am a ConTeXt newbie and fail to see any possible place for errors in the above test case. Sincerely, Michail

luatex and javascript

Hi, I've searched the list and it seems that no one has been occurred to my problem. Has the javascript interface gone? 'cause I failed the following simplest file: ================================================================ \setupinteraction[state=start] \starttext A few years back, \TEX\ could only produce \fillinfield [dvi] {DVI} output, but nowadays, thanks to \fillinfield {Han The Thanh}, we can also directly produce \fillinfield [pdf] {PDF}! Nice eh? Actually, while the first field module was prototyped in ACROBAT, the current implementation was debugged in \fillinfield [pdfTeX] {\PDFTEX}. Field support in \fillinfield [ConTeXt] {\CONTEXT} is rather advanced and complete and all kind of fields are supported. One can hook in appearances, and validation \fillinfield [JavaScripts] {JAVASCRIPT}'s. Fields can be cloned and copied, where the latter saves some space. By using \fillinfield {objects} when suited, this module saves space anyway. \stoptext ================================================================ It's copied from the mwidget-s.pdf My luatex is 0.30.3, and I just run "luatools --generate" and "ctxtools --update" today. Important: ConTeXt Minimals and --delete/--keep switch

Hello, This is a rather important notice for users of ConTeXt minimals. You might want to add --keep to ./first-setup.sh There are some options for which I'm not sure if they should be enabled by default or not. The script (mtx-update.lua and consequently the simplistic ./first-setup.sh script) provides two switches: --keep and --delete. The --delete switch deletes all the files that are not part of distribution. The --keep switch doesn't care about those files (that have been remove from distribution or that you added) and leaves them where they are. Your own files should go to texmf-local that update doesn't touch at all. Now the important info: if you want your files to be kept, you should use the --keep switch in ./first-setup.sh. --delete has been misfunctional for a while, and maybe it should not be kept as the default option. But as it stands now, it is the default. Recently there has been a new option added (--extras=list,of,context,modules), but I would like the option to be renamed to something more self-explanatory than --extras= (--modules= for example). You can test if fetching modules works OK, but I would like to rename the option. Mojca (Maybe we should add --cvs-exclude rule to rsync to prevent deleting kpathsea files and formats.)

Dear all, Here are two questions. 1. about ctxtools Recently, I updated TeXLive 2008 using "tlmgr". After that I try to update ConTeXt using "ctxtools --update". It downloaded cont-tmp.zip and extracting it. When I compile Korean text using XeTeX + ConTeXt or LuaTeX, there are many overfull errors because of the linebreaking. But by adding the command "\XeTeXlinebreaklocale[ko]" the overfull errors were cleared in XeTeX+ ConTeXt. Is there a similar command in LuaTeX to handle the overfull errors? Additional arrows in flow chart

Disabling automatic hyphenation

Hi Hans, I wan't to disable in a document TeX's automatic hyphenation and allow only manuell brackpoints with \- or settings in \hyphenation. The only working solution I found was to define new language in the core and add a file with empty patterns to the core files, my setting for the language is \def\s!empty{empty} \installlanguage [\s!empty] [\c!default=\s!en, \s!patterns=\s!empty, \c!state=\v!stop] I use now the patterns of this language in my document and set now my own hyphen points with \hyphenation. Can you add this to your own files or do you have a better solution for my problem. Wolfgang

current beta gives error with m-subsub

Hi, since summer I didn't update context, today I did. Unfortunately this results in an error (when using module m-subsub): system : module m-subsub loaded (/usr/local/texlive/2008/../texmf-local/tex/context/base/m-subsub.tex system : mark subsubsubsubsubsection defined [subsubsubsubsubsection] system : mark subsubsubsubsubsectionnumber defined [subsubsubsubsubsec tionnumber] ! bug in minimals: dvipdfmx.dll not found

Mojca: I think you forgot to put the windows version of dvipdfmx.dll in the minimals tree. also: mp help tools like mpto and dvitomp are not needed anymore. you can safely remove them. Yue Wang
