The MKIV reference guide runs over 300 pages. I am looking for something briefer that gives the basics of using MKIV, how to call it, how to use fonts and so on. Run context from Perl script

Hi all, I would like to run context from a Perl script. Within this script I defined environment variables (TEXMFOS, TEXMFCAHE & PATH). The command to run is : exec("/path/to/context myfile.tex"); But context can not start. I have following error: MTXrun | unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua' With the same method, I can run "texexec" without any problem. Any idea for help ? Thanks,

Colision stoppers? Distinction MKII vs MKIV

Hello. When I compile next example by MKII and MKIV I get diferent results. Is there any way to set diferent stoppers (stopper in caption and stopper in list) in MKIV? Spot colors in mkiv

Hi Hans, Is there a nice way to get spot color names into the PDF in mkiv? I now have: {\catcode`\#=12 \gdef\hash{#}} \definecolor[PANTONE\hash 4625][c=0,m=0.6,y=1,k=0.79] \definespotcolor[dark][PANTONE\hash 4625][p=1] but that does not really deserve a price for elegance. Best wishes, Taco

Open Font Garden wiki

Hi, Yesterday I installed a wiki for Open Type font information: http://www.openfontgarden.net The goal of this wiki is to collect as much (meta-)information about freely available OpenType fonts as possible: * status of the font (project) * supported character set / features * known bugs / problems * Example glyph pages * status of OpenSource support for that font (especially TeX of course, but also other programs like Troff and Inkscape) Currently there is no content except for a main page with some dead links, so as you can imagine: I am looking for people to help fill it in. :) Besides content, I wonder if there are people that have ideas for a nice logo and layout. Finally, I am also looking for help setting up and maintaining the wiki itself. This is my first mediawiki, and I don't really know what I am doing. :-/

Changing separator in BIBliography

Hello, I am using Taco's bib module in mkiv and I use only note field in misc layout. Now I have problem with setting separator of keys. I want use it in czech language and therefore I want modify separator, but I dont know relevant option. When I use in source \cite[15, 16] (keys of publications) then I get link to list of publications [15 and 16] When I use in source \cite[15, 16, 17] then I get link to list of publications [15, 16 and 17] I want set separator so that result was [15, 16] or [15, 16, 17] Where is point or option to change of separators?? How to get randomly coloured text in metapost?

Hi, how to get random colours for text inside textext? Removing last skip or insert negative space to captions of figures

Hello, Inasmuch as I dont fix the problem with stoppers in MkIV (in MkII is OK) (settings \setupcaption[figure][stopper={*}] and \setuplist[figure][stopper={:}] isnt doesn't work), therefore I want be resolving it throught very beastly way: It is removing last skip (it is remove space after number of figure) from caption of figure or inserting negative space with stoppers to captions of figures by example: \placefigure{\negspacewithstopper Caption 1} {\externalfigure[figure1]} Definition of \negspacewithstopper is: \def\negspacewithstopper{$\!\!\!\!$:\quad } It seem to me, that removing last skip is clearer method, but I dont know, if any like this command exist in context. PlainTeX macro \unskip hasnt effect. Is there any way to removing last skip in Context (MkIV)?? Thankx Jaroslav
