Running Mk-IV using TeXLive 2010

Dear Folks, I am a LaTeX user trying out ConTeXt for the first time. I am running TeXLive 2010 (full scheme) on a x86_64-linux platform. I have used LuaLaTeX with fontspec quite successfully and would like to try ConTeXt with LuaTeX support in Mk-IV to compare ease of customization and use. Algorithms in ConTeXt

Hi, I'd like to ask yet another "LaTeX in ConTeXt" question. Is there something like the algorithm package? It can typeset pseudocode like in the attached graphic. I sort of like the rules on the left side that indicate the scope of the for/while/case statements. Patrick

The emerging American genius for making a lot of money was a poor substitute for King Arthur and his knights (although the Horatio Alger myth of rags to riches was good for a lot of mileage). Without a mythology and set of ancient heroes to call its own, America had to manufacture its heroes. So the mythmaking machinery of nineteenth|-|century American media created a suitable heroic archetype in the cowboys of the Wild West. The image was of the undaunted cattle drivers living a life of reckless individualism, braving the elements, staving off brutal Indian \inouter{2}attacks. Or of heroic lawmen dueling with six|-|guns in the streets at high noon. This artificial Wild West became America's Iliad. Hi all, the following code works in mkii. It used to work in mkiv as well, but doesn't anymore with the latest beta (I can't tell at which version it stopped working, sorry). Maybe a side-effect of the new structure code? Hi all, working on a book project with index and bibliography, I discovered two small bugs (at least I think they are bugs): 1. index sorts uppercase letters after lowercase letters. Minimal example: \starttext \index{Aardvark}Aardvark \index{azygous}azygous \page \setupregister[index][n=1] \placeregister[index] \stoptext I would expect azygous to follow Aardvark, but it is sorted before. 2. (Maybe not a bug, but a somewhat unfriendly behavior): When a \cite command refers to a non-existent key and sort=bbl, ConTeXt bombs out with a lua error: ! footnotes when using RtL (Arabic)

Dear all, Two quick questions regarding footnotes and Arabic: 1. How do I get a footnote rule/marker to go from right-to-left (i.e. to begin at the right margin instead of the left margin)? 2. I would like some of my footnote streams to run RtL for Arabic, and also for those footnotes to be in paragraph form (i.e. \setupnote[afootnote][paragraph=yes] ). But when I add this command, my footnote instead runs LtR, the letters get cut up (i.e. the Arabic script is not connected), and I lose my footnote marker to add insult to injury. How should I define a footnote stream to run RtL in paragraph form? Many thanks in advance. Kind regards, Talal p.s. fitting page around content

Hi Everyone! is there a way to tell ConTeXt to fit the page tightly around the content? In LaTeX, I can do this with \usepackage[active,tightpage]{preview} The purpose is to create a standalone tikz figure of potentially unknown size. Thanks, Michael
