Hello all, I'd to explain some effects in the .pdf from the code bellow. Why? How to make it appear? - - The same effect may be observed in the co-fonts.pdf at the pg. 19 at the lowest line - there is bold font working, but "alpha" is missing as well. - - - Unfortunately, there is no fully working example in the document with bold math and "alpha" together. - In my example, normal (thin) "Abc" is shown a bit slanted (as should be in math mode). Once it is used in bold math mode, it's no more slanted but "vertical" as normal text. Is there a way how to keep the "slantedness" even in math bold mode? (This is e.g. often used to mark vectors.) Redefine symbols for new command \morse{.-..}

i'd like to define a new command \define[]\short{\dontleavehmode \blackrule[width=0.4em]\ } \define[]\long {\dontleavehmode \blackrule[width=1.4em]\ } \define[1] \morse {MAGIC} \morse{.-..} should create a \short for every '.' and \long for every '-' But this transcription should be only active in the "morse environment" Is that possible? equation numbering: subfurmulas

I took the following document as a source: http://wiki.contextgarden.net/images/b/b4/Mathalign.pdf (Btw: Aditya, why isn't the latest version also on http://dl.contextgarden.net/myway/mathalign.pdf?) Section 4.2 says one thing and does the other ... I want to have my equations numbered as a_1 = (1,0,0) (1a) a_2 = (0,1,0) (1b) a_3 = (0,0,1) (1c) and then reference them as equation (1). The example from Aditya's document says the following: \placesubformula \startformula \startalign \NC a_1 x + b_1 y \NC = c_1 \NR[+][a] \NC a_2 x + b_2 y \NC = c_2 \NR[+][b] \stopalign \stopformula But if I try that in MKII, I get (0a) and (0b), while if I try that in MKIV, I get (1) and (2). How do I get (1a) and (1b) with both MKII and MKIV? Mojca (I'm asking about MKII since I have a completely different problem with every new MKIV version released and I really need to finish that document even if MKIV crashes or a nuclear war starts ... :) :) :)

facing-page translation

All, More naive questions about xml and context. I'm finding this slow going and documentation opaque, or just thin on the ground. Posting as a separate question: I've trawled through the documentation for help in typesetting TEI marked-up documents as facing-page translations. What little I've found there that I can understand is not encouraging. Does anyone know of examples of XML -> ConTeXt -> PDF that could give me a clue as to how this might be done? thanks, jon

Unwanted spaces removing

Hello ConTeXist, For some reason I need to use \placefigure environment in such a way that no space are before and after this environment (eg space for image caption under image). I want to hit as a result of using \externalfigure separately only. Can this be arranged? I tried \removelastskip, \removeunwantedspaces etc, but without success. Thanks Jaroslav. Here is my example ... \starttext \input knuth % here is no blank in PDF document \externalfigure[cow] % here is no blank in PDF document \input knuth % <- Here is blank before image and I can remove it, so it was like in the previous example \placefigure[here]{none}{\externalfigure[cow]} % <- Here is blank under image (for caption of figure) and I can remove it, so it was like in the previous example \input tufte \stoptext

Jorg, \placetable should do the trick. I had similar question earlier. search TABLE on the wiki, it is FULL of info barney
