crlf in textext?

Is it correct that the use of textext(label,pos) in MetApost pictures does not honor \crlf? I could not make a twoline text with textext("abc\crlf xyz",pos), it comes out as one line "abcxyz". Is it a feature or a defect? Hans van der Meer

MnSymbol (math) support in ConTeXt

Hello, I have been developing a new layout environment using Adobe Minion Pro for the main body font. My document will include a significant number of math formulas. I found a thread from earlier this year on the possibility of adding support for the LaTeX MnSymbol font package in ConTeXt, and wondered if anyone has gone farther with this idea. The last recommendation on the thread ( http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2011/057426.html) was to merge the Opentype MnSymbol font with Minion Pro using FontForge -- I tried that using the steps outlined, but reached the same obstacle mentioned by the last poster: the new (merged) font is not recognized by ConTeXt. That approach probably violates the Adobe font license anyway... In a 2009 thread on dev-context, Wolfgang Schuster mentioned an attempt to create a virtual font and typescript for MnSymbol, but he encountered problems with Greek characters. ( http://archive.contextgarden.net/message/20091122.164136.5757ec1f.en.html) So, as I don't know how to proceed further, I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has experimented with MnSymbol support, or in finding out what specific steps would be involved in adding support. Also, any recommendations of other math fonts suitable for use with Minion Pro would be welcome. I am currently playing with XITS math, which is Times-like but not too bad a fit. math symbols in superscript do not scale properly

Hi there, It came to my attention that there might be a problem when using math symbols in the superscript: It seems that the symbols are not properly scaled (if downscaling was what I suppose to be the default behaviour). A small example is given below. Thanks in advance. Context from Texlive

I downloaded texlive on Windows from the the July 2011 Tex Collection dvd. Latex works fine, but I get the following error message when I try to run Context: ConTeXt: problems after [0] pages Is there some sort of postcompilation I need to do to get Context running? Regards, Philip Brown

xml attribute conditional

All, I have a conditional expression that checks to see if the current node has any ancestor whose xml:id attribute matches a string \xmldoifelse{#1}{ancestor::div[@xml:id='apr_engl']} What I need is a test to see if the current node has any ancestor whose xml:id attribute _contains_ a substring. Something like this: \xmldoifelse{#1}{ancestor::div[ @xml:id contains('_engl')]} trying this: \xmldoifelse{#1}{ancestor::div[ contains(@xml:id, '_engl')]} got me this error: ! LuaTeX error < local expr = xml.expressions...>:3: bad argument #1 to 'contains' (string expected, got nil) any suggestions? Jon

Bibliography: `\setupheadtext[de][pubs=Quellen]` does not update the table of contents.

Dear ConTeXt folks, the following minimal example changes the default text for the title for the publication list [1]. In the table of content there is still the default name though. \mainlanguage[de] \setupbibtex[database=sample, sort=author] \setuppublications[alternative=apa, criterium=all] % Show reference numbers in the generated list. \setupheadtext[de][pus=Quellen] \starttext \completecontent \section{Example} As \cite[hh2010b] already indicated, bibtex is a \LaTeX-centric program. \blank[4*big] \CONTEXT\ \contextmark\ \contextversion \completepublications \stoptext A solution for this problem would be much appreciated. Is there a way to access a document global variable from Lua? I will use this to replace the REFREF text. 2. v.references.realpage isn't the actual page of the title. Is there a way to store some metadata along with my title? I'd like something similar to this: \myheader[author=me, date=2011-12-14]{This is my header with meta-data} and then be able to access it from Lua again. Thanks for any help you can give with this. Mailing list archive (archive.contextgarden.net) will be down or at least not updated

Hello, We are moving the mail server from Germany to Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana and would like to let you know that mailing list archive won't be updated when that happens. So: copy of mailing list archive (archive.contextgarden.net) won't be updated for at least some time, but there is also a chance that it will be completely replaced by a different solution. Not that it would be technically impossible to continue updating it, but I think that setting up mailing lists has a much higher priority at the moment than old archives (which are much better at gmane.org anyway). We will get new mailing lists on the new server soon (some of them for members of ConTeXt Group, http://group.contextgarden.net, some of them for distribution etc.) If anyone has any thoughts about this, you may write me off-list (I will post a summary to the mailing list later on). The list ntg-context at ntg.nl won't be moved due to longstanding tradition at ntg.nl, but we will move some mailing lists from obscure locations such as launchpad (where we had a mailing list for binary builders). Mojca (There is no reason to take lurker down at this moment, but we are somehow afraid that people would rely on it returning the latest mails.)

Preserving Output Files

Hey list, I've searched the list, but couldn't seem to dig up anything that I thought was relevant. How do I get ConTeXt to preserve all files necessary to run the same invocation of LuaTeX it executed when it was run. As an example, when I run the following... $ context Source/Handbook.tex --result=Handbook.pdf ...it says that it ran the following... luatex --fmt="/home/kip/.texmf-var/luatex-cache/context/e570cb3e0e3ab0118ca08dd148bbec7d/formats/cont-en" --lua="/home/kip/.texmf-var/luatex-cache/context/e570cb3e0e3ab0118ca08dd148bbec7d/formats/cont-en.lui" --backend="pdf" "Handbook.tex" If I run the same luatex command on its own, it cannot find the temporary working files passed to it in its parameters.
