Problem calling system

Hello, I'd need to call the OS, namely lua in it. I have the following code: ---- \write18{lua -e "require 'lfs'"} \write18{lua -e require'lfs'} \starttext A \stoptext ---- When calling directly from the command line lua -e "require 'lfs'" - there is no error. From within the Context code, I'm getting (see CmdLine.log): " ... lua.exe: (command line):1: '=' expected near 'lfs' lua.exe: (command line):1: '=' expected near '<eof>'... I started using starttable..\stoptable. Question: How can I force the table cells to fixed dimensions, for example squares of 1cmx1cm? I can see \setuptables[height= width= depth=] but that does not take dimensions (error Illegal unit). What it does with the numbers given is not clear to me, because the ConTeXtGarden has no explanation of its effect. By the way, the page Command/setuptables has the bodyfont parameter occurring twice in the table. Hans van der Meer

setup table of contents

Hi again, seems like it’s impossible to setup the level for combined lists anymore. (MkIV, latest beta). While \placelist[part,chapter] works, I didn’t find a way to \setupcombinedlist[content] just down to chapter level, not deeper. The "level" key is gone in MkIV, and "part,chapter" in the setup command don’t do anything. multi language (with module)

Hi, to finish my first module I like to make it also available for non-german users (remove the hardcoded german text). But I could not figure out how in a way that works. So I wrote down a minimal example in pseudo-tex to point out my goal. Can you give me an idea/solution how to implement it in a correct way? fixing mpiv on installation path with spaces

Hello, last year Taco added many patches to make sure that ConTeXt works even when installed to "C:\Documents and Settings\ ..." and other weird paths with spaces. However metapost in mkiv still fails. I figured out that the following patch (which *won't* handle paths with quotation marks properly) in mlib-run.lua fixes the problem: local preamble = [[ boolean mplib ; mplib := true ; let dump = endinput ; - input %s ; + input "%s" ; ]] but I'm not sure if there are any other side effects or if there are other places that also need a patch. I didn't test with filenames with spaces or with filenames with weird characters that need escaping. Maybe it would be helpful to pass file.addsuffix(name,"mp") through additional filter (instead of simply adding quotation marks) that would also check if any other character needs escaping and add quotation marks if needed. Minimal example: - install ConTeXt into path with spaces - test with context on \starttext \startMPcode draw fullcircle scaled 3cm; \stopMPcode \stoptext I would be grateful if somebody could take a look, so that a fix could make it into TL 2012. Insertion of a Document I.D.

I want to generate a document i.d. from the .tex source filename and the current date and put it into the footer. This might be possible already, but I could find it by searching the wiki for filename and document it, or rather too much since filename is mainly used for command line parameters, etc. I know the \currentdate will give the current system date part that I can use, but is there any \filename type command for the master filename, so that a document i.d. could be generated automatically. e.g. \filename\currentdate Regards

"Typescripts for Dummies"

Is there a document anywhere that would be the equivalent of "Typescripts for Dummies?" (as if such a book really existed) I am trying to write some typescripts for the Venturis ADF and Beneris ADF families (and a few others) using Wolfgang's typescripts for Fontin et. al. as a guide. I can't seem to figure out what, "\s!" or "\typescripttwo" of "\typescriptthree" do and the examples I have looked at on the wiki either don't contain them or don't explain them . I also don't seem to be able to find a command reference for \starttypescript which explains what the various option fields mean or what "predefined" values exist for each.
