Hello listmembers, 1. With "\setupbackgrounds" finally I achieved what I intended (see pdf-file), according to Context reference manual p. 187. But a question remains: Is it a feature of context not to colourize header and footer alone, but only in conjunction with text? 2. In the appended pdf-file it is also to be seen, that the horizontal \hrule strokes are wider than \textwidth, i.e. they begin in leftmargin and extend to within rightmargin, whereas the vertical \vrule strokes exactly are as high as expected. Is there a bug in my program? Indenting after floating image

Dear All, when an indenting is set, it is applied in a smart way and sometimes suppressed, e.g after images. But when the image is floating and forced to be displayed on a separate page, I would expect the indenting of the following paragraph preserved. Currently it doesn't, see this example: \setupexternalfigures[location=default] \setupindenting[medium, yes] \starttext \input{ward} \startplacefigure[number=no, location={page}, title={}] \externalfigure[cow] \stopplacefigure \input{ward} \stoptext Is there a global switch for it or am I to force the indenting in these cases manually? ConTeXt minimal on chromebook

I attempted to put ConTeXt minimal on Samsung chromebook and got: Error: your system "Linux armv7l" is not supported yet. Please report to the ConTeXt mailing-list (ntg-context(a)ntg.nl) This is not a request to support the armv7l (unless it is trivial) but, is it futile to attempt installing minimal on a chromebook with Intel ATOM N570, or Intel Celeron-867? (If I had them at hand I would try.)

Dear list, I have noticed that ConTeXt (beta from 2014.02.14 17:07) has a problem with Palatino Linotype. Here the sample: \definefontfeature[capstosc][c2sc=yes] \definefontfamily[mainface][serif][Palatino Linotype] \setupbodyfont[mainface] \starttext {\addfeature[capstosc] AEIOU} \sc aeiou \stoptext All vowels are fine, but the i is a dotted small cap i. The regular small cap i is defined as i.sc (and the dotted small cap i is defined as i.sc too). But FontForge applies both c2sc and smcp substitutions fine. Is there any way to solve this? Pgfplots - passing point coordinates by Lua

Hello, I just started experimenting with pgfplots package. I'd have two questions: 1) When plotting/loading a data file: Is it possible to specify the comment mark, which is '#' and '%" by default? I'd need to treat ';' as a comment mark, too. 2) How to pass coordinates of plot points by Lua? A default editor for ConTeXt standalone?

Hi all, just a thought. Some time ago wise people decided to include TeXworks into TeXlive, so that newbies installing TeXlive can get a "batteries-included" package (not having to choose/install an editor). Would it be (a) reasonable and (b) not too much time-consuming to do a similar move with ConTeXt standalone? I'm not saying it would have to be TeXworks (or my beloved Emacs, for that matter;)). I am aware that this is an additional work to maintain etc., and I'm probably not capable of doing it myself, but... writetolist doesn't include sectionnumber in mkiv?

With MkIV, I'm having trouble getting \writetolist to include sectionnumbers. Or at least, I cannot get the typeset list to include the sectionnumbers (but maybe writetolist sent in the information). Here's a minimal example, which is almost exactly the example from the wiki at <http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Command/setuplist>. The only change is that I've included [order=command] so that the \hrule ends up at the right place. \definelist[Reprints][criterium=all] \starttext \section{Sec 1} \writetolist[Reprints]{1.}{List entry A} \subsection{Subsec 1} \writebetweenlist[Reprints]{\hrule} \writetolist[Reprints]{2.}{List entry B} \completelist[Reprints][order=command] \stoptext When typeset (I'm using the 2014.02.14 beta), the completelist looks like: List entry A 1 -------------------- List entry B 1 But the 1. and 2. didn't show up in the left column. I tried adding \setuplist[Reprints][sectionnumber=yes] but that didn't help. Does one need to define an alternative that includes sectionnumbers? -Sanjoy

underbraces slightly too narrow (with MkIV 2013.05.28)

In certain cases, display-mathunderbraces are not quite wide enough. Here's a minimal example: =================== \starttext \placeformula\startformula \underbrace{15\,\tf cm}_{L} \stopformula \stoptext =================== Using 2013.05.28 00:36 MKIV (from vanilla TL2013), the left brace tip starts under the vertical bar of the "1", instead of enclosing the serif as well. The right brace tip ends between the last two tines of the "m", instead of enclosing the whole "m" and its serifs. With 2013.04.09 10:38 MKII, the brace tips extend just slightly beyond the "15 cm", which is better. However, they seem slightly too close. As a test, I ran the comparable plain-TeX file through LuaTeX and PDFTeX. ================== $$ \underbrace{15\,\rm cm}_{L} $$ \bye ================== The gap between the right brace tip and the text is slightly greater (with either LuaTeX or PDFTeX), and it looks right. (With the 2012.05.30 MKIV on live.contextgarden.net, the result is similar to the Lua/PDFTeX versions, though not identical, and also looks reasonable.) -Sanjoy

Strange output from linear_shade (METAPOST)

I need to create some graphics to teach energy. One of the illustrations is about the sound energy that I represent using linear_shade function. bug in page break and footnotes

Dear list, I have just discovered that there is a buggy interaction between references and footnotes. The sample is taken form a book I’m writing. When including two \about and a footnote at the end of the paragraph, ConTeXt is not able to move the two last lines from paragraph to the next page (http://www.ousia.tk/wrong-break.pdf) But the weird thing is that both the footnote and the text from the second \about to the end of the line are placed at the bottom of the page. If I remove any of the two \about, text is not misplaced, but footnote reference and point are (http://www.ousia.tk/wrong-footnote.pdf) And if I remove both \about or replace them with \at or \in, everything works as expected (http://www.ousia.tk/right-break.pdf) Sorry, but I’m afraid I cannot provide a code sample that reproduces the bug. I tried it and it worked fine. And I have no idea of what might trigger the bug. BTW, I’m using beta from 2014.02.01 14:22. AFAIK, this is the latest one. narrowered columns on background image?

Hi All, in the following two code examples I tried to place text in columns on a background image. The first example, partly achieved by plain TeX commands is ok, even narrowering works. Have a look at the attached .pdf file. The second example isn't ok. Neither narrowering nor putting the text into columns work. Though the code of the first example is completely good enough for me, I'd like to learn where my mistakes in the 2. example are. Any ideas? As for my second problem, the relative dimensions of the three columns in the List of Examples, I could no see how I could create a representative ME in a short time, so instead I experimented with the many parameters for \setuplist and eventually found a satisfactory solution. OT: Reflections on usability ConTeXt for typesetting of mathematics

Hello ConTeXist. I am very sorry for this OFF TOPIC contribution. For writing of this text led me several hours of searching on internet. I was looking for ways to typing of non-elementary math in ConTeXt Already a long time I use ConTeXt typesetting lot of different things and I am very satisfied. In the many things, of which I typed, was maths represented only marginally and minimally. Now I need to type some mathematics (at secondary school level) and I found that I came across borders of my knowledge of ConTeXt, or on possibilities of ConTeXt for typesetting of mathematics. I do not in any way call into question the ability of ConTeXt typesetting mathematics, although I think that who wants to type mathematics then use LaTeX. I want find experience of users of ConTeXt for real using of ConTeXt for typesetting of mathematics. I wonder how users use possible math modules (exist anything?) to be usable results. I have a few questions: 0. Do you think that this is only a problem for beginners of ConText or it is a general problem of ConTeXt? 1. How many of ConTeXt users use this tool for typesetting of non-elementary mathematics? 2. Are you satisfied with the results, which produces ConTeXt (thinking in the field of mathematics rate)? 3. What things do you need to have in ConTeXt study that one could bet mathematics at a reasonable level? 4. Is ConTeXt able to substitute LaTeX to typesetting of math (e.g. in the future)? 5. Can you think of any more questions that should be here? I hope that my question will help other beginners who would like to typing of mathematics use ConText - this unique and useful tool. textwidth in (simple)columns

With \startcolumn[n=2] the \textwidth appears as the columnwidth, but with \startsimplecolumns[n=2] it stays the full breadth of the page. Is there a remedy? Changing to \startcolumns is no option because it does not work inside \startframedtext, and \startboxedcolumns is no option because I found cases where (apparently with a clear cause) sometimes material disappeared (I posted here a remark on this sometime ago) Hans van der Meer

suggestion on [option=TEX]

Hi Hans, I have the following sample: \setuptyping[option=TEX] \starttext \starttyping \input zapf % knuth \stoptyping \stoptext The percent character is in bold font and gray color, but the rest of the commented text isn’t. My suggestion would be to apply the same color and font of the percent character to the rest of the comment. So it is easier to see that the text is a comment. And I think coloring the whole commented text (not only the percent character) is the normal practice in all text editors (if comments are colored at all). state=high vs state=empty for headers and footers

If one uses \setuplayout[header][text][frame=on] then the frame is drawn on pages with header=empty but not drawn on pages with header=high. By default, the 'empty' pagebreak method (in page-txt.mkvi) sets the header and footer state to empty rather than high. This means that header frames are drawn on empty pages. For example, see attached file. Hello, Under mkii we used to have a running footer that appeared below the crop marks. Under mkiv I can't get that to work. I tried it with both marking=text and marking=on, but in either case, I get neither crop marks nor the text. (In our real document, I was able to get crop marks with [marking=on]. But not text. And haven't figured out how to get crop marks in a MWE.) (Combined)lists, two questions

Dear all, I have a few issues with the Table of Contents and with the List of Figures 1 How can one force a page break after some section. In my present setup I have a Chapter 4, sitting lonely at the bottom of the first page of the ToC, with its sections on the next page. I have tried \completecontent[3.7], as described on p. 53 of "ConTeXt an excursion", but that does not work for me (I'm on mkiv). What can be done about it? 2 My list of figures gives the complete captions, some of which are long. Those exceeding their allotted space break off, which is OK, but there are some that run up against the page number, which is ugly and unclear. What can I do the create a little more space between caption and page number? In general, of most if not all of the 38 possible arguments for \setuplist, as shown on http://wiki.contextgarden.net/, I do not know what they do and how they can be used. Unfortunately, also "ConTeXt an excursion" is very brief on this subject. Is there any place where I can find more information? Thanks in advance for ay advice. Best regards, Robert Blackstone

Additionally, I'd like to keep that divider with the previous content (paragraph). In this case AFAIK \testpage[n] cannot be used directly in the divider definition as it breaks the page at position of this command. I'd like to express rather: If there is no space for three lines, break the page, but grab few previous lines (at least 2) together with me (according to orphan/widow settings). Divider in grid environment

Dear All, I'd like to use a divider between certain paragraphs. As I want to keep all the lines on the grid so it should have a height = N x line height. As \hl renders the line on baseline, I have to tweek the space before/after using the 'blank' command to keep the horizontal line in the +/- middle: \setuplayout[grid=yes] \showgrid \showlayoutcomponents \starttext \input{ward} \blank[4mm]\middlealigned{\hl[4]}\blank[6mm] \input{ward} \stoptext But this solution requires adjustments for different fonts or font sizes... Additional unnumbered pages behind a title page

Dear list, For a Thesis, doublesided, I need three unnumbered pages behind the Title-page, the second of which contains only a dedication "To the memory of A". For the Title-page I use standardmakeup but ConTeXt apparently does not like me to add a second .tex-file with standardmakeup. How can I manage to accomplish this in a way worthy of ConTeXt? Thanks in advance for any advice Best regards, Robert Blackstone (I did find a hack, consisting of introducing between the Title-page and the FrontMatter a .tex-file, beginning with \setuppagenumber[state=stop], of which the second page is filled with stack of empty framed textboxes with their frames off. It does work somehow but I cannot believe that it is the right method.)

"sl=style:tf" or "sl=style:regular" don’t work (the italic font is the slanted one). Which is the right way to do it in the new version of simplefonts? BTW, I think I should update the simplefonts article in the wiki to add the new syntax. After reading the font-sel.mkvi file, I have two questions: Which are the option keys that come before a colon? Problem with matematics (derivative and brackets combinations) + wrong pagenumbering

Hello ConTeXist. I type some math now. When I use the symbol derivative in combination with symbols brackets, so the result does not look too good. Compared to the result in LaTeX output is almost unusable. It is possible to achieve a better result? In addition, I noticed that the page numbering starts from number 2. Is it a bug or I wrong? Bookmarks with the specified label on

I have specified the headnumber of chapter to be "the Number chpt". By using \setuplist and \placelist with the attributes "label=yes", I could get a content with the label as what I want. But the headnumber of chapter label on bookmarks is still using "Number" intead of "the Number chpt". What should I do to enable this feature? draw random branched hydrocarbons

I wrote this code to randomly draw organic branched structures. Since the organic structures have different dimensions I'm using the scale function to normalize the width. The result is a rather ugly because the structures are displayed with fonts with different sizes. Is there a way to normalize the structures width only when it exceeds a certain size? two question on ConTeXt terminology

Dear list, I’m writing a document on ConTeXt and I have two questions on terminology. As I have been using LaTeX over a decade, I don’t know whether my descriptions are accurate in ConTeXt. Don’t worry, My questions are extremely basic ;-). What is the name for the part of the document that comes before \starttext? The ConTeXt manual seems to use preamble, but I would like to confirm this use. The other question is more tricky. Or at least I don’t find an obvious answer. Which is the correct expression to name any \start...-\stop....structure? Environment would be the LaTeX term, but this is reserved in ConTeXt. issue with font in typing environment

Dear list, I converted the monospace fonts of txfonts (http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/txfonts/pfb) from pbf to otf using FontForge. They work fine (http://www.ousia.tk/ryfonts.zip) But the issue is shown in the following sample (beta from 2014.02.01 14:22): \definefontfamily[mainface][mono][ryt1xtt][bf=ryt1xbtt] \setupbodyfont[mainface] \definetyping[TeXcode][option=TEX] \starttext \starttyping \ConTeXt\ is \stoptyping \startTeXcode \ConTeXt\ is \stopTeXcode \stoptext If option=TEX is enabled, there is no space after the backslash. Testpage with extras

Hi there, I asked a similar question before, but I try it again (in a bit different way): The command \testpage[n] Paragraph sets the next paragraph on the next page, if there are less than n lines left on the current page. I use this command very often, but need it with some extension: If \testpage is "active" (meaning, there are indeed less than n lines left), then it should not only input an pagebreak, but also some other command. E.g.: somewhat like \testpage[n,{\noindentation}] should add "\noindentation" before the paragraph, if and only if, there are less than n lines left. Or maybe: "\testpage[n, {TESTPAGE IS ACTIV}" to simply add this text infront of the next paragraph (of course the first one is more interesting). At the moment I use \testpage[n]\noindentation but that fails, if the document has changed and there are >= n lines left => no pagebreak, but still \noindentation of course - but they only should act simultaneously. Hi, With the latest beta, ConTeXt ver: 2013.06.07 17:34 MKII fmt: 2014.1.29 in a file typeset with mkii I have a bunch of metapost macros (drawing a logo…) which used to typeset correctly until last week, I get an error message saying: Preloading the plain mem file, version 1.004 for metafun ii >> cyan >> (0,1,1) ! Equation cannot be performed (numeric=color). Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this error message in a minimal example, but can anyone tell me whether something has changed in MetaPost? xterm dynamic title

Hello, Using xterm and related emulators, one can set a dynamic title. Many applications set this title. (Of course, the user can program the emulator to ignore such dynamic titles, if preferred). I find it useful, especially when I have many terminal windows open, all running different processes in parallel. Perhaps it would be preferred to implement such a feature in the mtx-context.lua script, for example, rather than the shell script, as one could then add useful information such as the run number. special case to disable italic correction

Hi Hans, after reading the relevant part for italic correction in fonts-mkiv.pdf and enabling it in my documents, I have found a case in which the italic correction could be improved. My settings are: \definefontfeature[default][default][itlc=yes] \setupitaliccorrection[global,always] If I get it right, the italic correction should be avoided before points and commas (these are all the exceptions I can imagine for this case). The explanation is simple: the space is already at the base line, since at the glyph base, the inclination of the italic or slanted glyph makes the right side-bearing larger at the baseline. The issue with italic correction is mainly with ascenders or at the cap height, but I think it isn’t at the base line (or the descenders). Because of that I think it is important to disable italic correction before points and commas. Hi Wolfgang, with the new simplefonts interface I have two options that used to work with the old interface, but that don’t work now. Here is the command: \definefontfamily[mainface][mono][ryt1xtt][capsfont=ryt1xttsc, boldfont=ryt1xbtt, capsboldfont=ryt1xttsc] I get mono the bold font, but I cannot get mono small caps or mono bold small caps. Hi, In ConTeXt to change the default text colour for the entire document, there are at least two settings that need to be configured: \setupcolors[textcolor=red] \setupinmargin[line=13,color=red,style=slanted,] The border colour for tables remains black: \setupcolors[textcolor=red] \setupinmargin[color=red] \starttext {\bTABLE \bTR \bTD One \eTD \bTD Two \eTD \eTR \eTABLE} \stoptext How can you override *all* instances of black? (Ideally there would be a single setting that is inherited by all.) That is, it is difficult to know all the various aspects of a ConTeXt document that use the default black colour -- margins, body text, table borders, and possibly more that I don't know about. In the end I used for everything the category "booklet", which is less of a straitjacket than the other categories. It gives you the freedom to put some extra details (if needed) in the title and also to style the "author" the way you want (for example Last name, First name or Last name, initials, or Initials Last name or whatever you want.) You can also use urls there, as far as I know. For consistency you would still need a bibl style file, for which I used a tweaked version of bibl-apa.tex. (which is in ~/<context-minimal>/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/bib) And a last thing: I input not the BibTeX database but the .bbl which I generate separately. I can tweak that if necessary or to add specific features, like horizontal lines in the Bibliography for repeated author names. (Another requirement which I personally don't like). Question 3: url is mentioned. Does that mean that url can actually used as a data field name? I am of the KISS persuasion (Keep It Simple Silly). \placeinitial after a heading

Hi, If I attempt to insert a drop cap after a heading while the paragraph indentation is enabled, I get the following effect: all lines the drop cap spans except the first one (e. g. second and third in case of n=3) get an additional indent, equal to the \parindent. For example: \setupinitial[font=Bold sa 4,n=3] \setupindenting[yes,1em] \starttext \section{Knuth} \placeinitial \input knuth \stoptext I suppose this is not the intended behavior :) The problem doesn't occur if I enable indenting also for the first paragraph after the heading, but in this case, of course, the drop cap itself is indented together with its adjacent lines. So the following workaround is possible: \setupinitial[font=Bold sa 4,n=3, hoffset=\parindent,distance=-\parindent] \setuphead[section][indentnext=yes] Nevertheless it would be nice if this issue could be fixed. Also, is it possible to explicitly apply case conversion commands to a drop cap? \placeinital special case

Hello, I came across a special case where \placeinital would need some tuning. (It was found in Eglinton, G. and Calvin, M. (1966) "Chemical Fossils", Scientific American 216, 32-43.) In the following minimal example, the period following the capital W should be dropped as well, being kept associated with the initial. \starttext \placeinitial W. H. Bradley of the U.S. Geological Survey has sought a contemporary counterpart of the richly organic ooze that presumably gave rise to the Green River shale. So far he has located only four lakes, two in the U.S. and two in Africa, that seem to be reasonable candidates. \stoptext This curiosity is by no means an important problem, and perhaps one can identify other such cases (but I have not thought much about it!). Fixing this is probably trivial or it might be a challenge depending on how \placeinitial is implemented (I have not looked into fixing it either). I only report this to help ConTeXt continue to evolve towards the highest quality computer typesetting available. Alan

Tabulator in database file not passed to Lua

Dear list, according to the wiki and the ConTeXt manual, the ConTeXt equivalent for the LaTeX \flushbottom command is \setupalign[line]. However in my tests this setting doesn't have the desired effect. For example: \setuplayout[height=720pt] \setuphead[subject][before={\vskip4pt plus 1fil},after={\blank[small]}] \setupalign[line] \showgrid \starttext \dorecurse{3}{\input knuth} \subject{My Subject} \dorecurse{8}{\input knuth} \stoptext Here at the first page there is a small gap between the last line and the page border, although the glue above the heading can safely be expanded to make the page filled. However I do get the desired result if I replace \setupalign [line] with a low-level command (\alignbottom). Hello listmembers, ConTeXt ver: 2013.05.28 00:36 MKIV current fmt: 2014.1.6 I'm typesetting a book in A4 landscape and would like to indent the TOC at both sides. I tried two solutions which both didn't work as expected. 1. attempt with "\startnarrower[left,right] \completecontent[pageboundaries={0.1.1.5}] \stopnarrower": The output of the following minimalistic example is partly attached as .pdf file. I shortened there the textheight to 80mm. a.) I would expect the TOC to be midaligned. But it isn't. It is leftaligned. b.) I would expect the TOC stopped after the 5th subsection row at page bottom and to be continued at the next page due to "[pageboundaries={0.1.1.5}]". But it isn't. 2. attempt with "\line{\hfill\vbox{\hsize=.75\hsize\completecontent[pageboundaries={0.1.1.5}]}\hfill}", outcommented in the following example. The TOC is really indented at both sides, but it doesn't stop at all at page bottom. Something must be wrong here. But what? enable kerning with discretionary hyphen

Dear list, as I have asked in a previous message to the list, I wanted to be able to hyphenate \ConTeXt. Aditya kindly suggested the use of \discretionary, but this has an unintended collateral effect: kerning is disabled in the word. I can specify kerning with \discretionary, such as in: \def\ConTeXt{Con\discretionary{-}{}{\kern-.06em}\TeX{}t} But this also has another consequence: this works right for Pagella regular, but this is wrong with the italic font or in small caps (also with the bold or bold italic fonts, but I don’t use them). \hyphenation would be the way to solve this, but I don’t know how to make it work: \def\ConTeXt{Con\TeX{}t} \hyphenation{Con-\TeX} \starttext \hsize\zeropoint \ConTeXt ConTeXt \stoptext Even in the case it could work, I would like to know how I could define commands (\ConTeXt or \TeX) only referred to individual fonts. MkIV XML and |c|c|c|

Hi, I'm trying to glue MkIV XML handling to ConTeXt's tabulation. My markup has a HTML-style table model, with an arbitary number of <col> elements. My problem is to produce the |c|c|c|c| format based on the number of <col> elements I have, rather than hardcoding a specific number of columns. I thought I could do something like this, but unfortunately the string produced by \xmlconcat{#1}{col}{\|} seems to be ignored: % in practice this would produce various alignments, not just "c" \startxmlsetups xml:col c \stopxmlsetups \startxmlsetups xml:table \starttabulate[\|\xmlconcat{#1}{col}{\|}\|] \xmlall{#1}{thead|tbody} \stoptabulate \stopxmlsetups Whereas this works fine, as I'd expect: \starttabulate[|c|c|c|c|] (I'm also confused about the escaping for \| there. I guess the [] is a special environment, with | being given a different catcode, perhaps?) Is there a way to do this, with the number of columns and their alignment generated from the input XML? error bar gap with pgfplots/tikz and custom colour

Dear list, I'm using pgfplots to create some bar charts with error bars, and I want to use custom colours for them. This works, but if I mix a custom colour with another colour, it results in a gap between the error bar line and the error bar mark. If two custom colours are mixed, the gap seems to be doubled. Mixing with predefined colours works normally. Hi, How can I read a structureuservariable at the end of the section, when there are subsections? footnotes in appendices

Dear list, on a document I have, I want to have footnotes in appendices, but they are numbered in uppercase Roman numbers. Here is a sample: \starttext \startappendices a\footnote{b.} \stopappendices \stoptext How can I change it to Arabic numbers? issues with \setuplist

Dear list, generating a table of contents with the following sample: \setupinterlinespace[line=3.5ex] \setuplist[section][alternative=d, style={\itx\setupinterlinespace}, separator={·}] \starttext \placecontent \dorecurse{5}{\chapter{Chapter}\dorecurse{10}{\section{Long Section Title}}} \stoptext I experience two issues. The first one is that I have no hay to get the sections that build a paragraph to have an adapted \setupinterlinespace. Right now the interline space is too high. And \setupinterlinespace from style doesn’t seem to work. The second issue is that I would like to get a separator between each section item in the table of contents. Hi, the following test file gives an error with the latest beta: \setupbodyfont[gentium,12pt] \starttext \buildtextaccent\greekdasia\greekalphamacron \stoptext it works with a somewhat older one (2013.12.30). The error is ! Missing number, treated as zero. system > tex > error on line 5 in file /tmp/test.tex: Missing number, treated as zero ... ... <to be read again> \relax \buildtextaccent ...umber \b_enco_accent )}\relax \ifcase \scratchcounter \e... l.5 \buildtextaccent\greekdasia\greekalphamacron I thought this pointed to enco-ini.mkiv, but the file is unchanged between these two versions, so I'm a bit baffled. I have found three ways of doing this: I would like to know which is best practice, and also the more "lua context document" fashion. 1- Using "\startbar[underbar] \input zapf \stopbar" as described p. 39 of "hybrid.pdf". 2- Using "\startMPpositionmethod{mpos:placeholder}", found in http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/125162/rounded-box-around-placeholde… (Thanks to Aditya).
