I'm trying play with the statistical package** for metapost from Anthony Phan. I found this strange problem: This code runs fine: \startMPcode label.bot(btex Metapost and Statistics etex,(5mm,0)) ; \stopMPcode Also, this code run fine: \startMPcode input mps-core.mp; draw fullcircle scaled 1cm ; \stopMPcode But this don't run!! \startMPcode input mps-core.mp label.bot(btex Metapost and Statistics etex,(5mm,0)) ; \stopMPcode What can coming from the module "mps-core.mp" that interfere with Metapost labels? Using input maps for ITRANS to devanagari with context m-iv

Hello All, Xetex allows the use of input maps such as xetex-itrans for taking input in ITRANS transliteration and converting to devanagari . xetex-itrans package is at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/xetex/generic/itrans/ . Information is at http://tug.ctan.org/pkg/xetex-itrans I am planning to use context-m-iv for some Sanskrit documents. Is it possible to use the input maps with Context m-iv ? Thanks, Shree Devi

cannot update latest beta

Dear list, I have just tried to update ConTeXt to latest beta (as many times before) with "rsync -ptv rsync://contextgarden.net/minimals/setup/first-setup.sh ." and I got the following error message: rsync: failed to connect to contextgarden.net (193.2.4.200): No route to host (113) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(128) [Receiver=3.1.0pre1] Is anyone experiencing the same error? Hi Thomas, Luigi and Hans, I’m aware that this isn’t exactly a feature for critical editions, but this is a useful feature for educational material. Error in the latest beta

Hello, I want to report a bug in the latest beta. I use Mac OS X 10.9.1 and whenever I typeset a file, I get the following error at the end: error: writefont.c: The file format (unknown) for font `lmroman12-regular' is incompatible with wide characters ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced! !LuaTeX error: writefont.c: The file format (unknown) for font `lmroman12-regular' is incompatible with wide characters ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced! ConTeXt hyphenation patterns for Indic languages

Hello, I have tried to generate the hyphenation patterns for Malayalam language from the TeX hyphenation patterns, but the unicode characters were skipped. On TeXLive 2013, ConTeXt version 2013.04.20, this is what was tried: 1. Uncommented line for "ml" in mtx-patterns.lua 2. Ran "mtxrun --script patterns --convert --path=/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/tex/generic/hyph-utf8/patterns/txt/ --destination=/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/tex/context/patterns/" 3. Output shows all patterns are removed with similar messages to: "mtx-patterns | removing line with suspected utf character അ (0x0D05), category lo: 1അ1" What is the proper way to add hyphenation patterns for a new language? In addition, how to add a 'new language' to the ConTeXt base (such that \language[ml] can be used? I see "base/lang-ind.mkii" where I could add "\setupheadtext" etc for the language, what is the equivalent for mkiv? Thanks for any answers or pointers. -- Regards, Rajeesh

Dear sirs I would like to try luatex lunatic ( http://wiki.contextgarden.net/User:Luigi.scarso/luatex_lunatic) but i d'ont find the luatex-0.42. I'm looking in https://foundry.supelec.fr/frs/?group_id=10&release_id=406#luatex-beta-0.76… I've been looking for a way to simulate data with different distributions (normal, poisson, exponential, etc.) in the .tex file. The use of GSL library is a good option, but it seems impossible to import in luatex. Another way is using the R-statistical through filter module***, which seems to work well in luatex. At this time I would try to import the GSL functions through python script.
