Why aren't cross-references working in tabulate?

When I run this code, \at{page}[xyz] is unable to find the cross reference: \starttext%\reference[xyz]{} \starttabulate[|lp(.33333\textwidth)|lp(.6666\textwidth)|] \NC \reference[xyz]{} \NC \NC\NR \stoptabulate \pagebreak \at{page}[xyz] \stoptext The code does work when I uncomment line #2, revealing the cross-references work find when outside of a table. I also tried using a TABLE environment instead and the result was similar, it wouldn't show the page number. What am I doing wrong? --Joel

How to track down source of [entry not flushed] displaying in indexes?

I have some custom registers that I use to index some information. When compiled, it just prints [entry not flushed] instead of printing some of the page numbers. I have tens of thousands of lines of code, so have no idea how to break the problem down to a minimal example. What does [entry not flushed] mean? What kind of feature in my document do I need to search for that might explain why this is appearing? \intertext and highlighting with \alignhere/\breakhere

Hi all, Often I want to include a sentence/paragraph in the middle of a long multipart formula. With the old \startalign/\stopalign formulas, I could use \intertext{...} to do this, but this doesn't work with the new \alignhere/\breakhere formulas. I've managed to find a "solution" for this, although I'd prefer something a bit less hacky. Any ideas? Also, is there a way to highlight an equation across an \alignhere? Once again, I've found a "solution", but like before, it's pretty hacky. Example files are attached. Thanks, -- Max

Creating a module for calligraphy practice templates

Hello, list! I've been working on a module to typeset calligraphy practice templates using ConTeXt and MetaPost. You are welcome to check it out on github: https://github.com/conradolandia/pauta I'm not including a MWE because the repository has all the current code. I hope this is fine. I did not want to clutter the list with too much text. The module is only a single file (t-pauta.mkxl) and some examples of use and documentation that are still somewhat unfinished, but I've tried to document the source code as much as I could. If you need clarification about anything, please let me know. (At the root of the repository, there is a file build.lua, that is not really part of the project, just a custom tool I use to process the files, a sort of minimal build system. You can ignore it.) I welcome any kind of suggestions and dire warnings. I've tried to read the wiki and the manuals carefully and made as many tests as possible, and in general it works fine, but I have ADHD and things frequently get over my head. There are still some things that don't work as they should, and things that need improvement: 1. I use top/bottom areas to display some info. These areas are not being handled properly so far. For example, if I place a chapter before the Pauta macro invocation, there will be data on the top and bottom areas in the last page of the chapter. I've tried using \page and clearing the areas, which feels like cheating, but still does not work well. Any ideas on how to better handle this are more than welcome. 2. I'm using what I found at https://wiki.contextgarden.net/System_Macros/Handling_Arguments and \getparameters to handle the arguments for my Pauta macro, but today I found out about \processaction at https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Module_Parameters and I'm not really sure if I should change my module to work with this instead of \getparameters. In general, after checking the source code of several modules, I'm not really sure how much I have to follow the guidelines at https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Module_Parameters or if those are the most current recommendations. 3. I'm including in my module the code of the file hatching.mp that can be found at https://ctan.org/tex-archive/graphics/metapost/contrib/macros/hatching. I did this for portability reasons, since it's less than 70 lines and has not been updated in 20 years. But if it's better to have this in a separate file, please let me know. Also, if a better method to create pattern filled paths is available, please let me know, I confess I didn't look too much into it yet. This has solved my requirement so far. 4. I want to be as close as possible to the new LMTX syntax and way of doing things. so If you think I'm doing something in anachronistic ways, please let me know. Hi, Todays update has a fix for the compact mode slant interference (as explained by Wolfgang a few days ago). Hopefully that works out well. We (MS and HH) also managed to make curve detection more accurate (the decision routine that is responsible for straight lines in the MP output) so that extreme paths with control points way beyond reasonable still produce the right output (before we could get a wrong bbox due to clipping the curve in the backend). One can actually also force "always curve" with "withcurvature 1" (more variants might follow) but that is more or us to have a test option. Curvature detection is mostly a pdf efficiency feature and normally users should rely on the default to work okay. Other new mp features are relative and absolute points which makes it possible to define paths in a turtle graphics way (a bit like hlineto and vline in postscript), a native "--" operator (equivalent but somewehat more efficient on huge generated paths). The luametafun manual has a chapter on paths that describes some of this. Yet another new feature is "firstcontrol" and "secondcontrol" that is an addendum to controls that makes both control points the same when only one is given. Finally there is a fix in mp where some directions, think { dir 120 }, gave the wrong result due to sign swapping (so it was seen as { dir 200} or { dir -60 }) as side effect of negative zeros fed into tan2. This became obvious when MS reprocessed a graphic, as last year we switched from scsled (no bug) to double (long time bug exposed). (The bug is also present in LuaTeX double/binary mode but it will be fixed there too.) issue with module update

Dear list, I have just updated a module named PresVoz. I get the standard directory (https://modules.contextgarden.net/dl/presvoz/) and (https://modules.contextgarden.net/dl/presvoz-{%version%}.zip) but no https://modules.contextgarden.net/dl/presvoz.zip (with current version). So when updating the module, I get it only uninstalled. The two most recent updates (this one and the one before) had this issue. Is there something I am missing here? weird character normalization in the wiki

Dear list, https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Greek#Monotonic_and_Acute_Accent includes two samples that should display the difference betweeen the monotonic accent and the polytonic acute accent (which generate two different characters for each such accented vowel). Excluding other implications, these are two different characters. In some fonts each pair of different characters for each accented letter lead to the same glyph, in other fonts those glyphs are different. This sample shows the difference (there should display two slightly different accents [unless there is some character normalization on the way]): \definefontfamily[mainface][rm][EBGaramond] \setupbodyfont[mainface, 500pt] \definecolor [tred] [r=1,t=.5,a=1] \definecolor [tblue] [b=1,t=.25,a=1] \starttext \startTEXpage[offset=1ex] \startoverlay {\color[tred]{Ά}} {\color[tblue]{Ά}} \stopoverlay \stopTEXpage \stoptext The problem that I have is tricky. Thanks to character normalization (at least in Firefox), searching for "á" will also find "a" (unless “Match diacritics” is enabled). I’m afraid the wiki is performing some character normalization, which renders samples in https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Greek#Monotonic_and_Acute_Accent useless. Searching for "Ά" in https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Greek should give not more than 4 matches (not case-sensitive and with “Match diacritics” [or similar filter for your browser] enabled). I‘m afraid I get none. While editing the article searching for "Ά" (case-insensitive and not normalizing characters), gave me 4 matches, but only in the source (no ocurrence was found in the preview). Once changes are saved, "Ά" occurrences dissapear (since they seem to be normalized). Sure, they may be a workaround to type codepoints instead of characters (such as with \utfchar{0x1fbb}, but wouln’t it be possible to disable that character normalization in the wiki? It would be nice if we could just host it on https://modules.contextgarden.net, then it could also get installed via the mtxrun script. Hraban
