xmlpos values doubled

Hello All, I'm trying to render a table stored in XML JATS format (https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/archiving/) and eventually want to use the <colgroup> tag to setup column aligning from the @align attribute, e.g., \setupTABLE [column] [\xmlpos{#1}] [align=\xmlatt{#1}{align}] Including \xmlpos{#1} I get double the value returned, i.e.: the first element in colgroup returns 2, the second returns 4 etc. Below is a MWE to show my issue. I show \xmlpos for each <col> tag in <colgroup> above the table, which returns 2, 4, 6, 8 but I expected 1, 2, 3, 4. Need some hints to fix my standalon installation

Hi Have updated my standalone installation from one of the 2020 releases to the latest one running ./first-setup.sh --context=latest --modules=all Now i see the strange behavior that fraction in second equation is not typeset instead typesetting math aborts after typesetting the upper part of the fraction. A short example showing this is attached (pdf, tex, and log) Therefore i have the following questions - would it help to sacrifice the updated standalone installation and do a fresh install - What else i would have to check and probably fix to make the math working as expected - any thing else to change

Math functions not typeset inside MetaPost

Hi Hans, [I am sending this again since the previous mails regarding were sent during the weekend]. I am on the most recent upload of LMTX [2022.04.15 20:20]. However, when I try to use math functions inside MetaPost strings, the function is not typeset correctly. Please consider the following MWE: \starttext \startMPcode draw textext("\m{\max_i x_i}"); \stopMPcode \stoptext which produces the output attached here as an image. Instead of the mfunction maxᵢ xᵢ some form of the string mathfunctionhandlelabel is typeset. I tried to inspect \math_function_handle_label [math-ini] and also mp-mlib and mlib-pps but could not figure out what is going wrong. I wonder if there is a backslash missing somewhere. I am a little worried since I use MetaFun in conjunction with maths and could not figure out what the issue is. Word wrap of 'part' titles

In the MWE below the 'part' title is centred but on one line only and, because it is a long title, the beginning and end are lost off the sides of the page. If it were a 'chapter' title then I could insert '\\' to cause a line break at that point. However this does not seem to work for 'part'. How to create a more human-readable syntax for displaying workbook activities?

I am creating a student workbook. There are ~30 chapters, each containing ~20 activities, called "Activity A", "Activity B", and so on. The `workbook.tex` itself uses a recurse function, so it prints chapter 1-30. The reason I use this, is if I need to do a fast test of the code, I can compile a specific range of chapters, not the whole workbook. \define\activityA{} \define\activityB{} \dostepwiserecurse{1}{30}{1}{ \chapter{\recurselevel} \activityA \activityB } \activityA prints the workbook activity "Activity A". \activityB prints the workbook activity "Activity B". The problem comes in that some activities have varied versions. Just as an example, "Activity C might be a crossword puzzle in some chapters, but a word search in other chapters. My poor solution has been to use registercyclist: \define\altCa{print a crossword} \define[3]\altCb{print a word search} \registercyclelist{activityClist}{\altCa, \altCb{}{}{}, \altCb{}{}{}} \define\activityC{% \usecyclelist{activityClist} } This code works okay, but becomes broken if I try to change the page range in `dostepwiserecurse` when testing my code. The other problem is the syntax is super messy. Within this single line, tones of data is crammed in: \registercyclelist{activityClist}{\altCa, \altCb{}{}{}, \altCb{}{}{}} ...not only is it not easy to read which chapter gets which activity, I also have to fill in the {}{}{} with data, making it more difficult to read. How can I create a much cleaner, human-readable syntax for storing this? Is there some simpler way to tell ConTeXt Chapter 1 gets one variant, Chapter 2, 3, and 4 get another, etc.?

placing (on) layers

Hi again, I’m always struggling with putting stuff on layers, since these just never start where I’d expect them to, and the offsets changed a few times within the last years. TeXworks on Linux

Good evening! Currently I am trying to test different editors on a Linux-box. — Tonight I installed TeXworks. Now I wanted to change the editor to use ConTeXt LMTX. I added in the tab “typesetting" the path to the executables in the TeX tree. Then I added funder editing the processing tools following the Wiki as a programme mtxrun and as parameters —script context $fullname. After restarting the application I get the error: “unknown script ‘mtx-base.lua' or ‘mtx-mtx-base.lua’” My question is, is there a user out there who knows how to fix this? Kind regards Willi

<dc:language> to XMP info?

Hi Hans, I need to access the document language using Poppler’s GObject introspection. Right now, the only way to do that would be to have <dc:language> (https://raw.githubusercontent.com/adobe/XMP-Toolkit-SDK/main/docs/XMPSpecif…) in the XMP metadata included in the PDF file. Would it be possible to have <dc:language> included in the XMP metadata (besides other DC elements, such as author, title, description or format)? Many thanks for your help, Pablo

$\sin \theta$ behave differently in metafun

Dear all, I use $\sin \theta$ and $\cos \theta$ behave differently in text and in metafun. It works well sometime before but it doesn’t in metafun now. What is wrong in my example?
