Convertnumber with \ref[number] fails in MkIV, works in LMTX

Hello list, The following fails with ConTeXt ver: 2021.10.24 21:45 MKIV but works with the companion LMTX. The error message is:tex error > tex error on line 6 in file G:/TestConTeXt/convert.tex: ! Incompatible glue units , pointing to the second \convertnumber line. \definelabel[XX]%[text=,before=,after=,alternative=inright] \startTEXpage[offset=2em] abc\XX[xx]\par \ref[number][xx] · \convertnumber{r}{1} · \convertnumber{R}{\ref[number][xx]} \stopTEXpage In this case I am trying to display with roman numerals the number generated in the label created through \definelabel. filling buffers in cld documents

Hi, I am used to giving very extensive feedbacks to my pupils. These are buffers with xtables flushing lua vectors. Here is their basic structures: * an environment that stores xtables. Pensez à la finesse de vos menhirs…" NoteStructure = 1, } context.getbuffer({"ExoCorrection"}) context.stopsubsubject() context.stoptext() The troubles is that buffers are filled with the last version of Eleve table. I guess this is because the whole file is parsed and then filled in buffers. My understanding of the cld manuel is that context.tobuffer() and context.direct() should be used, but couldn't figure out how. Tried several times, also with context.step but all failed. I think I didn't properly understand the "temp" and str of context.tobuffer description in manual. What changes should I introduce to my cld files? Best regards, Damien Thiriet

Why are my captions overlapping next text in combinations?

I have some combinations used throughout my document like this: \starttext \startcombination[4*2] {% \framed[width=.25\textwidth, height=.25\textwidth]{}% }{% \strut word \\ \thinrule\hairline\hairline% }% \stopcombination \input knuth \stoptext This makes a box, then displays a word underneath, and then some blank lines. The problem I'm having is many times the caption text is covering up whatever appears after. In this minimal example, I tried showing the problem, but somehow this is rendering find, not covering the \input knuth text. Also, if I add more more items to the combination, the second row appears above the first row! My document is rather complex, so I couldn't find a way to simplify it enough to get a minimal example to reveal the problem that is appearing. Any ideas what might be causing the caption text to overlap and cover whatever appears after it? --Joel

Heisenbug in current?

Hi all, I'm very hesitant to report this because I can't reproduce it consistently: some of my files don't compile with bizarre font errors, sometimes. At first I thought it may be a hardware problem on my laptop, but I've seen more or less the same error on 3 different computers now, intermittently. The offending call is always similar: fonts > otf loading > loading '/mnt/shared/lmtx/tex/texmf/fonts/data/public/dejavu/DejaVuSansMono.ttf', hash 'dejavusansmono' otf reader > fatal error in file '/mnt/shared/lmtx/tex/texmf/fonts/data/public/dejavu/DejaVuSansMono.ttf': ...e0dde776fb1556f32e/formats/luametatex/font-otr-macro.lua:1040: attempt to call a nil value (field 'to16dot16') It concerns several fonts, both my own and (as here) from the installation, and the first error is always this "field 'to16dot16.'" Has anybody else seen this? Do the developers have any idea what this could be? Has there been a change in the code concerning this field? Sorry for being so vague, but I'm pulling my hair because this error crops up totally at random, AFAICS. All best Thomas

thousand separator space

Margin figure in itemize

Dear list, With the following MWE I end up with big gaps between margin figures in an itemized list. Font expansion enabled by default with the latest upload

Hi Hans, Font expansion (hz) seems to be enabled by default with the latest upload. If I compile the document with the lines uncommitted on live.contextgarden.net, I get the same results as I do on my local installation with the lines commented. Personally, I think that enabling hz expansion by default is probably a good thing, but this change will affect a very large number of documents and you never mentioned it in the announcement email, so I suspect that it was accidentally added when you added the math hz. Hi, these line can modify the space between words: \installtolerancemethod {horizontal} {MySpace} {\spaceskip2.75pt plus1.60pt minus1.10pt\relax} \setupalign[line,block]\setfalse\raggedonelinerstate% kein hz=expansion mehr? \setuptolerance[MySpace] But how can I adjust in general the horizontal distance between glyphs (I don't mean \kern, I am looking for a general setup)?
