Hello list! I have: \starttext \setupcombination [location=top, distance=\spaceamount] \bTABLE[align=flushleft,columndistance=0.1em] \bTR \bTD[width=2cm] Small \eTD \bTD[width=0.05\textwidth] \eTD \eTR \eTABLE \stoptext I have a question tot he sencond bTD [with 0.05\textwidth] \eTD, because: I would like to know: how can I put two different colors in this second bTD, should I do this like an overlay? There is not any text there. So that i have as an example to the list, pink and mystirose together, in one peace of the table without any text. Many thanks to the list Uschi

Bug in LMTX: Color is lost after linebreak

Dear devs, there seems to be a bug in LMTX. In the MWE below, the letter right after the linebreak is black instead of gray. Nested Column Layout

Hello all, I am trying to lay out a page that has a 2/3 column split, and then nest another set of 3 columns inside the larger of the two outer columns. In case that's not clear, I've attached a PNG that shows approximately what I would like to achieve. Here's what I've tried: ``` \defineparagraphs[TwoThirds][n=2] \setupparagraphs[TwoThirds][1][width=0.33\textwidth] \starttext \startTwoThirds \input tufte \nextTwoThirds \input tufte \startcolumns[n=3] \input tufte \stopcolumns \stopTwoThirds \stoptext ``` Instead of doing what I described, it made the contents of that inner column very narrow, but does not split it across columns. Hi, As we're progressing with the lmtx project (aka luametatex + context) the codebase gets adapted a bit. There are a few things that you need to keep an eye on: - As we test with lua 5.4 it can be that you need to wipe the cache after an update due to differences in byte code. This is only needed when you run into issues. At some point there might be a split in lua code (for luatex and luametatex) as 5.2 (luajittex, not evolving), 5.3 (luatex, stable frozen) and 5.4 (luametatex, experimental progressing) have a couple of different properties that we might want to benefit from. - The code base gets split in "Mark Four" and "Mark Fourty" files. Some of these are permanent, some can be temporary. It can for instance relate to features in and experiments with the engine. The only convenient way to test things is in 'real situations' and often issues can be solved fast. - As we're experimenting with metafun (and luagraph and ...) we also explore new interfaces. This results in a different codebase but should go unnoticed for existing code. Of course metafun 2.0 (hip and modern internet version speak) can bring interesting new things in the end. Captions with background

Hi, in my books I typeset captions onto full page images, therefore I need a background; in the attached example it’s just a white box, usually I use a MetaPost shadow (some of you helped me with that a few years ago, current code see https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Drop_shadows) Now, the background should just enclose the text, not more. Since I don’t know how long the caption will be (I use the whole setup in a macro), I need a \vbox within \setlayer, but that always uses the full \textwidth, regardless of width settings of \framed. If the caption is short, the box should be minimal. Is this possible? Even better would be a textbackground just behind the text lines. Unfortunately my MP foo is not up to the task, the rectangular shadow was hard enough, but I’d try. There’s an example in details.pdf, but I don’t understand how I could manipulate the path around the text (not: paragraph). The example shows another problem: If you run it with --mode=arrange, the bleed is cut off. Is this a matter of settings or a bug? Greetlings, Hraban

lmtx: img?

\setupheadertexts \setupfootertexts

Hello, \setupheadertexts [{center}] sets a centered header (and wipes-out any left and right header) \setupheadertexts [{left}] [{right}] sets the left and right headers (and keeps the centered header) \setupheadertexts [{left odd}] [{right odd}] [{left even}] [{right even}] sets the left and right headers for even and odd pages (perhaps I have this backwards?) (1) It would be useful to have \setupheadertexts [{left}] [{center}] [{right}] but this does not work. In this case, we probably also need a *six* argument version (even/odd). (2) It would also be useful that \setupheadertexts [{center}] NOT wipe-out left and right if they are set (but I could live with this perhaps historical behavior if we were to have (1).) (3) It is a bit messy that one must use \setupheader [] \setupheader [left] [right] *two calls* in order to have no centered header. (Again, I could live with \setupheader [left] [] [right] if we were to have (1).) Similarly for footertexts, of course. What is the reasoning, presently? ALTERNATIVELY (or additionally), we could have \setupheadertexts [center={center}, left={left}, lefteven={left, even}, ...] which would be even cleaner. Thanks, Alan

about SimpleSlides

Hi all, SimpleSlides is very useful for novice users so I do use it. But I encountered few problems which, I'm afraid, might be known. When we use a style BigNumber (or Embossed), an error occured: --------- tex error > tex error on line 87 in file /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/third/simpleslides/s-simpleslides-BigNumber.tex: ! Undefined control sequence l.87 \beginOLDTEX --------- I modified s-simpleslides-BigNumber.tex as follows: comment out from line #87 to #99 % \beginOLDTEX ... % \endLUATEX except line #98 \definefontsynonym [BigNumberFont] [name:texgyreherosbold] then it seems to work fine. But I suspect unconditional definition is not good so I'd like to know the correct fix. Another problem is with style Split. Browsing simpleslides.pdf, I think date, author, title and page number should be displayed on each slide but, in fact, we can't see them except page number. It seems, e.g. the following in s-simpleslides-Split.tex fails to get the "date". draw \sometxt[simpleslides:sometxt:left]{\getvariable{simpleslides:title}{date}} I think it is very helpful to see date, title on a slide so I'd like to know the fix.
