Dear list members, In my book I am creating an index. I know that there are commands for formatting index entries, like: \index{sl::īga} if I want the word 'īga' to be printed in slanted type. I also know that we can create sub-entries, like \index{īga+emphasized} But now I want the word 'īga' to be slanted, but not the word 'emphasized'. I have tried things like \index{sl::īga+rm::emphasized}, but I can't figure this out. Any suggestions? Robert

Dear Sytse Knypstra, Thank you for your reply. I read the manual “Columns” as you suggested. The command \setupcolumnsetstart made a balanced output. But my problem is little different from it. I want exam paper of two columns in a page and in each column two problems located with the same space for solution. In general, it worked well, except the solution space of the last problem. Without \column, the heights of the two problems in the last column are different. With \column, the heights are same, but it create another extra blank page. It is not a big problem, but I wonder there is a solution. Thank you for your concern. startnarrower and framed?

Hi all, I want to have a \startnarrower effect. But I also want that segment to have a border (hopefully a gradient background color too!). I tried: \startnarrower \framed{testing} Seems framed doesn’t observe startnarrower commands. \endnarrower How do I achieve that? Regards Jon

Hi Hans, Thanks to your reply, I just discovered the reason for which I could not typeset in lmtx files which have a space in their name from the Terminal: one has to say context "exercice 1.tex" that is to enclose the entire filename between double quotes… Which is completely logical! But, without the second \column, the height of blank spaces of the second column are different. Is there a way to make the blank spaces height same while not to create a blank page? Trouble with lmtx install.bat

Dear list, It seems that sometimes incremental install.bat (ie run without wiping out the whole lmtx directory) does not work the same as full installation (ie wiping out the whole directory and reinstalling). I’ve ran install.bat first time this morning and I got the following error during installation tex error > tex error on line 137 in file page-txt.mklx: ! Undefined control sequence <argument> \c!middlestyle \mult_interfaces_get_parameters_item ...ty \fi #2 <argument> ...youtelementparameter \c!style , \c!middlestyle =\layoutelementparameter \... \mult_interfaces_get_parameters_indeed ..._item #1 ,], \setup_layoutelement ...ers {\??layouttexts :}[#1] \the \everysetuplayoutelem... <to be read again> \syst_helpers_double_empty_two_nop \par l.137 <empty file> Deleting the lmtx directory entirely and reinstalling from scratch succeeded (ie without above error), but I thought install.bat was able to update the files without need of erasing everything before ? LMTX: Space in file names

Hi Hans, I noticed that the lmtx beta from 2019.08.18 22:27 does not anymore accept spaces in file names, while the mkiv version does accept it. I am aware that putting a space in a file name is a very bad habit, but I am convincing some people who were used to use MS Word in order for them to use ConTeXt, and these people have many files with names containing spaces such as « correction problème 1.tex » (and in fact this is how I noticed this new behavior of lmtx: when typesetting such a file, lmtx looks for « correction.tex »). That is why I think if lmtx could continue to accept spaces in file names that would be very convenient. Do you think this would be possible? Best regards: OK
