Hi, I uploaded a new lmtx beta. Hopefully the installer works ok as I redid some of the "zip" related code (simpler, smaller binary too). FWIW, the luametatex codebase is now pretty close to okay, but of course there can be bugs, but nothing thay can't be solved fast. Given some earlier discussions on the list, I wonder about running context in containers and (behind the screens) web applications. Is there anything needed, mostly in the support scripts I guess, that can make that more comfortable / efficient / etc? getting character from Noto Emoji

Dear list, with this sample (font available at https://www.google.com/get/noto/) \definefontfamily[emoj][rm][Noto Emoji] \setupbodyfont[emoj] \starttext 🔔💻🔨🔩 󾓥󾓦󾓧󾓨󾓩󾓪󾓫󾓬󾓭󾓮 \stoptext I would like to get the second line of emojis (which are flags). \tochar{n:FE4EB} outputs "4" and \utfchar{0xFE4EB}. What am I doing wrong here? BTW, I would love to use Noto Color Emoji, but ConTeXt (MkIV & LMTX) doesn’t seem to handle it. Many thanks for your help, Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk

Suppress blank page in asymmetrical multicolumn layout

Hi there, How do I suppress the blank page in the following document while maintaining the asymmetrical multicolumn layout? Using ConTeXt with LuaTeX variants

I want to know if it's possible use HarfTeX/LuaHBTeX with ConTeXt (MKIV), mainly for what can be done with them (the "mode=harf" feature and Lua language features). Although this is pretty easy with LaTeX: \usepackage{harfload} \setmainfont{font}[RawFeature={mode=harf}] I have no idea of how to make it work with context. Hi list! Thank you for helping to answer so many questions and remove so many roadblocks with my project. The result is a photobook written in Markdown, piped through pandoc to generate ConTeXt code, then stylized using a series of .tex files. The coolest ConTeX part, IMO, is the orange dot in the timeline. Using MetaPost, the date for the timeline is read directly from the document, then plotted relative to the \overlaywidth. Changing the date in the Markdown document winds up repositioning the timeline dot automagically. https://impacts.to/ The book is going to be released under a CC BY 4.0 license, including all the source code necessary to generate the book. Meanwhile, if anyone is interested in nabbing a copy of the PDF, let me know (preferably via the web form). Again, my sincerest gratitude, this project would have been a much more time-consuming and arduous journey without your generous help.

LMTX install issue

Hi all, I cannot update to the latest lmtx, using the install.sh downloaded from http://www.pragma-ade.com/install.htm more precisely the version for MacOS from http://lmtx.pragma-ade.nl/install-lmtx/context-osx-64.zip I keep getting the version from 2019.11.29 21:58. Bug: \adjustspacing=1 does not disable expansion

Dear devs, The \adjustspacing register is described in the LuaTeX manual as follows: When \adjustspacing has value 2, hz optimization will be applied to glyphs and kerns. When the value is 3, only glyphs will be treated. A value smaller than 2 disables this feature. However, setting \adjustspacing=1 will only disable shrink but not stretch. Please find a minimal example example, where I have used exaggerated values for shrink and stretch to emphasize the issue. It can be reproduced with both mtxrun --script plain and luatex with luaotfload.sty. I have already checked linebreak.c but add_to_widths looks innocuous and properly checks the adjust_spacing parameter. Indenting number in TOC, particular numbering scheme, and other questions

Hello everyone, I just started to experiment with ConTeXt. I have a few issues with my first document structure. I need a very particular numbering scheme, which I have tried to implement. I have appended the document below. 1. Why is there no indenting in the TOC starting with (what I call) level 7? This could have to something with the fact that the levels starting from 7 are defined in the subsub module? 2. Why are the numbers in the headings inside the main text not printed for levels 8 and 9? Interestingly, they *are* printed for level 7, which is defined in the subsub module. I have looked into m-subsub.mkiv and saw no difference at all between the different levels defined there. 3. Is it possible to indent not only the section name but also the number in the TOC? Moreover, I would like to have a dot after the first three levels, but not the other ones (in the TOC and in the text), like this: A. First Level .................. 1 I. Second Level ............. 2 1. Third Level .......... 3 a) Fourth Level ..... 4 ... 4. I use the conversions A, I, 1 (without dot), and then defined my own ones "a)", "aa)", etc. *with* the ")". I think this is correct, since the way a section has to be referenced in the text is like this (for example): B.IV.5.c).aa).(4) Is there a way to get this? Moreover, is it possible to have a relative referencing command, for example, if section B.IV.5.d) is quoted from inside section B.IV.6.f) the command should only print 5.d) since the B.IV is implied. 5. How can I get rid of the additional vertical space before the second entry "B. Another first level" (chapter)? 6. I wanted to define aliases for the \subsub...subsection commands, since they are difficult to read, and I used \def as you can see below. Is this the right way to do it or would you recommend something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
