Luacode: Data File to Table

Hi All! LuaMetaTeX, Version 2.00.0 ConTeXt ver: 2019.10.10 18:15 MKIV beta fmt: 2019.10.19 int: english/english I'd like to transfer the entries in a data file to a Lua table according to [1]. Surprising change in function inspect()

Problem with the bottom line of a header

Hello, I tried a system-wide install of luametatex, but having my binaries in a disk mounted with w^xallowed did not change anything. I tried to compile different files, but cannot guess yet where do the crash come from. If it can help, I uploaded the luametatex.core file and files that were compiled during the crash at this adress: http://www.normalesup.org/~dthiriet/luametatex/ When I compiled this file, I had the first crash at page 12. Retrying to compile made it crash at page 3. I did not wipe the cache between compilations, nor made mtxrun --generate and context --make. Thanks, Damien Thiriet

luametatex install as root in OpenBSD

Hello, When I installed luametatex as root under OpenBSD amd64 this morning, I first had "no permission" to launch context. So I checked my /usr/local/context file (where I unpacked the zip). The symlink context had the right permissions after install process (-rwxr-xr-x root wheel) but not luametatex. I changed permissions for luametatex to -rwxr-xr-x root wheel but maybe it should be introduced at install script level? Btw, context.lua and mtxrun.lua are both installed with permissions -rwxr--r-- root wheel Are those lua script only called by root? Should I change their permissions as well to -rwxr-xr-x? columns and footnotes

Hi again, I’m testing columns again, and before I publish an article on the subject, I’d like to check with you. Find attached my testing environment, env_test.tex, and columns.tex, a "product", as well as the result of compiling with —mode=oldcolumns,grid and —mode=grid The "oldcolumns" example shows the result of \usemodule[old-columns] and looks like it should. The new columns code still has errors: Previously it wasn’t possible to start (new) columns mid-page, i.e. after an image or chapter/intro like in the example. This works now (progress!), but the pre-columns stuff is still shifted to the right. (And I don’t know where the yellow box comes from.) Additionally, footnotes in old-columns use the whole width and don’t interfere with the text columns, while in new columns, footnotes start in their column but use the whole width anyway and thus interfere with the main text. I tried \setupnotes[footnote][location=columns] (and other options) but saw no change. Many more options to check… Best, Hraban

Hi, I’d like to update my list of (usable!) PDF viewers. Which one do you use? (Current version?) What are its pros and cons? Is it free (open source, freeware)? Does it work on Win/Lin/Mac? Does it have a localized interface? (I don’t care, but I work with people who don’t understand a lot of English.) Can it handle comments, attachments? Can it handle forms with or without JavaScript? Does it support SyncTeX? (Who uses that anyway?) Does it update changed PDFs on its own (or does it even block overwriting)? Which other features are essential for your choice? E.g. I’m working with: - Preview.app (Mac) Default on MacOS, fast & easy. No JS, bad forms support, updates "sometimes". Usable as a previewer, not as a PDF toolbox. - Adobe Reader DC (Mac) I use it only to check forms or as reference. Unusable GUI. - Acrobat Pro 9 (Mac) Was my workhorse, but works on MacOS Mojave only partly; slow & crash-prone; no updates. Can check PDF/X<4 and convert colors. - PDF Studio Pro (on Mac & Linux) Bought to replace AcroPro9; JS support broken; slow startup; no updates. Can check PDF/X, A, UA and convert colors. Ok with forms, but doesn’t support LiveCycle forms (deprecated, but used by German boards). - Qpdfview (Linux) Fast and easy; reliably updates. - PDF.js (Browser or Atom) Is said to do SyncTeX (never tried). Hi Luigi, Unfortunately I cannot check with an up-to-date mkiv, since I didn't succeed in installing standalone mkiv binaries. But those file compile fine under TexLive 2018 context binaries packaged for OpenBSD 6.5. I will check tomorrow, whether my /home/ has got mount options that may lead to crashing, for example regarding w^x settings. Regards, Damien Thiriet

issue splitting tables and horizontal mode
