typesetting information from git

Hi, I like to add a sort of watermark with info about the git revision at the bottom of some files that I typeset. I’m using Lua, so I have: context(os.resultof("git --no-pager log --pretty='%h of %aD' -1 foo.xml”)) which gives something like "git revision b085c92a of Wed, 14 Feb 2018 12:49:35 +0100.” Suppose I want to make this more general. What would be the easiest way to either say “the xml file that is being processed” (something like arg[1]) or “the xml file whose name is in the Lua variable ‘foo?’” Thanks! Thomas

Problem with Lua: context.component()

Hello, suppose having: ---- t1.mkiv \starttext a \startluacode context.setvalue("b", "bbb") context.setvalue("c", 2) context.component("t2.mkiv") \stopluacode \stoptext ---- and ---- t2.mkiv \startcomponent * \b\c \stopcomponent ---- I get no result when trying to compile t1.mkiv - log tells: " ... system > jobfiles > unknown tex file '{t2.mkiv}\stoptext \finishjob ' <<<<<<<<<<<<< ???????????? close source > level 1, order 3, name 'd:/Ctx-Beta/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/mkiv/cont-yes.mkiv' tex error > tex error on line 0 in file : ! Emergency stop <*> cont-yes.mkiv <empty file> *** (job aborted, no legal \end found) " So - how to use 'context.component()' (input a component within Lua) well? Thank you in advance. show header text only on first page of chapter

Hello again, in my current magazine layout I’m abusing the part structure as a rubric, i.e. the part title shows up only in the header and in the ToC. That works nicely so far, but I must show the rubric header only on the first page of a chapter (article). Which approach would you suggest? In my experience, it’s hard to find the right place for \setupheader(texts) so that it affects the right page(s). Feature request: display Lua version

Hello, namely due to planned embedding Lua 5.3 into ConTeXt, would it be possible ConTeXt to show Lua version being used? Bug with the "class" used to create the fonts-mkiv document

Hi Hans, I used for personal documents some of the macros you wrote to create the fonts-mkiv document. I wanted to modify one of my documents and there are problems with the floats that are more in the right place, the size of the titles and the font that is in bold since my update of context standalone. issue with character and \xmlprettyprinttext

In-Margin Title + whitespace/indent bug

Hi all, I reported a curiosity on tex.stackexchange.com and a user noted that it appears to be a bug / regression that should be reported as the issue occurs in the latest beta (2018.02.14 22:56) but not TL2017 (2017.05.15 21:48). Learning how to use \setupbtxrendering

Dear all, I am in the process of learning how to use the bibliography mechanism in mkiv, and I would lik eto understand the meanings of the various parameters in the command: \setupbtxrendering [...,1,...] [..,..2=..,..] 1 NAME 2 textstate = start stop pagestate = start stop separator = COMMAND criterium = previous cite here all none filter = TEXT specification = NAME title = TEXT before = COMMAND after = COMMAND dataset = NAME method = dataset force local global none sorttype = short dataset list reference used default cite index repeat = yes no group = NAME numbering = yes no num index tag short page Indeed serveral of them are clear enough (such as dataset), some can be guessed by trial and error (such as numbering=yes or no) but some seem to me obscure or difficult to guess (what would numbering=page mean, or what would separator=COMMAND do, what does the title=TEXT corresponds to, etc). Has someone some examples to play with in order to learn the meaning of these options? Also, in real case document I would like to be able to typeset the bibliography with the following style: the autho's name is followed by a « : » the title of an article is in italic the title of a book is in slanted sans serif the number of the volume is in bold Is it possible to do this by an appropriate setting of btxrendering, without going into the BibTeX file? image file resolver in Lua?

Ahoi, I’m using a Lua function to calculate image sizes, cropping etc. This snippet: local filename = figures.current().status.fullname local pic = img.scan{filename = filename} ... works most of the time, but sometimes the "current" image is the previous one, might be because I’m using layers and postponing. So I’d like to use just the same filename as I give to \externalfigure, i.e. without path and extension. How can I address the same file path resolver in my Lua function? Dear Wolfgang, I found that the previous run “mtxrun - script font…” cheked the fonts for TeXLive 2017. So I run “setuptex” for ConTeXt standalone and run “mtxrun” again. After that I compiled the same file. The result is that \tt works as Nanum Gothic Coding but \ss still not working. “Nanum Gothic” file was not found yet. I am using Mac OSX 10.13 and latest beta.
