(again) issues with typing

Dear list, sorry for insisting, but I need to solve this. I have to explain to newcomers (in my Spanish introduction to ConTeXt) what comments are and multiple lines don’t affect the final PDF document. I have the following sample: \setuptyping[lines=yes] \starttext \startTEXpage[offset=1em] \startTEX This is text. % and this is a comment \stopTEX \startXML <p>This is text.</p> \stopXML \startLUA if code=="code" then --this is a comment --[[ this is a multiline comment --]] ---[[ this isn’t a multiline comment --]] \stopLUA \stopTEXpage \stoptext I have three questions: 1. How do I enable that multiple blank lines are displayed as more than a single one? The Lua code contains one, two and three blank lines and they are displayed always as separation from single lines. I thought lines=yes should do that, but it doesn’t. 2. I accidentally discovered that the block comment opening (--[[) removes break with next line. I think it should be fixed. 3. The most important issue is that the whole comment (both markers and content) is displayed with \darkyellow. I wonder why comments aren’t display in typing as in any other editor. All comment characters should be displayed the same, since none of them would affect to the final output. How can I get the same color for the whole comment (again, both markers and content)? Pdf info with Lua/Ctx API

Hello, is there a way how to get the following info from a PDF file via Lua/Ctx API?: - first: number of pages of the PDF, - next: for each page: get width, height and orientation (portrait/landscape) or rotation (+90,+ 180, +270 or so) of i-th page. About formatting the "Fonts out of ConTEXT" manual

(My) problem with percent sign in URLs

Hi all, I came across the problem with typesetting long URLs containing special characters transformed to hexadecimal form. Hyphenation of URLs is needed. Minimal examples (URL taken from our garden and adopted): 1. \hyphenatedurl{http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/05/a-former-book-designer-says-good-riddance-to-print/?hpw\%20hpw} 2. \hyphenatedurl[]{http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/05/a-former-book-designer-says-good-riddance-to-print/?hpw\%20hpw} Ad 1: Hyphenation of the URL is OK, but the output contains percent sign preceded by escaping backslash. Ad 2: Percent sign is not escaped but hyphenation of the URL does not operate. I hoped that there could be any option for this purpose but it seems not, brackets are printed out, too. Y el tercero. \stoptext \stopTEXlines\stopxcell \stopxrow\stopxtable \stoptext I need to show that there is more than one blank line where required. I assumed \setuptyping[lines=yes] should do that. Primes in mathmode — the neverending story

If I write \omega_n' the prime is placed in the exponent of the whole \omega_n atom rather than just the \omega atom. MWE is below. At the same time, I do not see why the Plain TeX behaviour of an active prime in mathmode was abandoned, because if I simply backport this, everything seems to work fine. Bug in startcombination

Hi Hans, It seems that in the latest ConTeXt beta a bug shows up when using \startcombination, or something has changed recently that I have overlooked. The following example typesets correctly in mkii, and used to produce a correct output with mkiv. Bibliography in MKIV, custom rendering

Hello, You find a need to modify the rendering of the bibliography as you are misusing the bibtex data entry. Here is your example, corrected: 1) @electronic is more appropriate than @misc; 2) Apple Inc. is not a name so you should not be using author: organization is more appropriate. Note that the only difference, in fact, between @electronic and @misc is this optional field, organization. We get this from the bibtex references and from the standard definitions in bibtex tools such as jabref. Your example did point out a correction that should now be in the APS specification definitions in the latest version that can be found on the Garden. Previously, a url (or doi) got included as a hyperlink tag to the text "howpublished" field. The logic has been modified to show the url (or doi) explicitly if present, in the absence of the howpublished field. combined / compressed / collapsed page and numbered citation references in bibliographies

I noticed that in bibliographies, page indexing combines runs of two or more pages (pp. 150–151), as does page number compression in registers, while it takes three or more numbered citations to cause a similar collapse (per the MKIV-Publications manual, page 38, I do not have an example) for citation number references. Is there a way to change such compression minimums so that they can be made consistent? -- Rik

Interaction in bibliographies

MKIV Publications <http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/manuals/mkiv-publications.pdf>, page 46, states: If interaction is active (\setupinteraction[state=start]), then these page numbers will be hyperlinks back to the citations. If numbering=yes, then the numbered bibliography entries will also contain hyperlinks back to the first occurrence in the text where the entry is cited (which is the same as the first page indexed). However, that does not seem to be the case, either in my own documents or in that manual, which clearly has interaction enabled for other items. Is the manual incorrect, or is this a bug? -- Rik
